I bought a 2024 Silverburst SG from GC and I really want to change out the bridge pickup to a 498T or a Dirty Fingers that I just acquired.

Yea , I saw a Silverburst SG at my GC too. Im partial to red or black though. It looked really cool though!
I want to change the pick up in the bridge as well to something less hot . May in the 7.5 ish range .
Thanks for the comment and for watching 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

@@HeadbangersLocal if it’s a 2024 like you said, it should have come with a set of 490s which already have the ohm rating you’re looking for of 7.5k or in that range. I’m looking towards the 498T which is in the 13K range and the Dirty Fingers pickup I have is in the 15k range. These guitars have quick connect pickups and the Dirty Fingers pickup I bought has the older connector which doesn’t match the circuit board in the SG so I will have to sort that out to use that pickup.

Thanks for the update video man! Can you tell us how much you paid for it now please? Or how much it was for sale for at the store?

Why did you trade the dimartini ? They get such great reviews I was thinking of getting one. I also did a trade at GC just 2 weeks ago. Similar experience to yours. Traded a pretty beat down explorer for quite a bit more than I thought they'd offer . Threw in a couple pedals I don't use and walked out with a 23 sg 61. Same story, terrible set up, practically unplayable. I complained and to GC's credit they threw in a complete setup. Still getting used to the guitar but I think I like it. Getting some nice growl straight through the Marshall.

The Dimartini was a great guitar. No question about it. I just rarely played it. It was more of a wall hanger than anything. Just in the last 2 months I’ve played this SG more than I ever had the other one. I probably should’ve complained more to Guitar Center and they may have given me a set up. The problem with those guys is they can’t set it up to exactly the way I want it. I probably would’ve ended up having to fix it anyway what I can say is that it now plays beautifully I’m definitely used to it and it’s turning into one of my favorite guitars last night was the first night. I actually didn’t play and went back to my Les Paul. Yeah, the tones I get from that SG are amazing. There is a short, I posted the other day of me doing the intro to Hells Bells and I’ll be damned with that tone doesn’t sound pretty freaking close to me. Thanks for.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

@@HeadbangersLocal You're right about GC setups. I've had to do some tweeking. Looks like we are living parallel universes from opposite sides of the country. My experiences over the last 3 weeks have been exactly the same as yours right down to the incredible noise in the GC. I also have a 2019 60s LP which is my baby. it's going to be interesting to see if the SG gets more PT. To my ear the SG is brighter sounding and even though they are the same pickups as my LP they sound a bit hotter. I saw your hells bells vid and I agree that's def good solid acdc tone. gotta love their simplicity. Plug the Sg into the Marshall and go. Rock on Bro!!
