Tim you are one of my biggest inspirations as a Ham Radio RUclipsr. Thanks for this straight up video. You are actually one of the few RUclipsrs I watch. I always jokingly say I'd rather watch UK Hams on here because they are not selling anything. There's a lot of truth to that. Your content is really what it's all about and yours is the best. Happy Christmas my friend. Looking forward to 2024 and your continued awesome videos. 73, Walt K4OGO
You could put videos out doing your weekly shopping, people would watch it. Tim you are a great guy and a big asset to our great hobby. A down to earth, none pretentious guy. I wish you and your family all the very best and happiness for 2024.
Evening Tim. Just keep doing what you’re good at. Enjoy watching the operating which gives me ideas. Keep it simple. All the best for the festive season 🎉
Fair comment and totally agree. You are no doubt one of the better channels I watch, easy to understand and the content is very interesting to me, as a non techie, but enjoy portable and playing with my own antenna builds. Having decided to take retirement a couple of years early, we are hoping to get ourselves a little day/camper van and get out and about in the new year, playing radio in my own way and enjoying life. Thank you so much for the hard work you have put in keeping the watchers entertained, but also have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New year.
Well said, Tim. A guy named Will once wrote "To thine own self be true". Words to live by to this day, methinks. I will continue to watch your vids because I find your subject matter interesting and useful, and your manner is that of a good mate. Keep it up and a Happy Christmas to you and yours. Best wishes, 73 Marc (N1QGM)
Nadolig Llawen a blwyddyn newydd dda, Tim! Thank you for a year of inspiration as I came back to our hobby after a 35y break. You’re the reason I have been able to work 160+ DXCCs from a doublet in a very compromised location so huge thanks and 73s from 9V1
I love that you’re not chasing the numbers. It means you’re doing something you enjoy - thanks for doing this. Thanks for being sincere. It makes me want to watch you more.
Thank you, I look forward to your videos in 2024. You introduced me to mobile operating, I have never enjoyed spending hours in a room upstairs on the radio, although I might spend 30 minutes or so listening around occasionally. I enjoy being out with my radios, but in the warmer months here in North Devon it tends to be busy where I like to operate and I'm very conscious of wires and bits lying around. After discovering your channel I now find operating from my car-shack quick and enjoyable, with a few new challenges to sort out and it has not cost a lot to get a couple of whips either (20m & 40m). Apart from the radio, everything stays in the car adding to the convenience of setting up. Many thanks.
Great channel It’s a good idea to re-evaluate things regularly and take a view on your output so far and future talking points. You have an excellent reputation and helped me pass my intermediate and full licenses thanks to your educational background. Continue playing to your strengths! 73
Tim you are a true gent honest, reliable, intelligent, helpful. Don’t change we need your honest assessments. Wow what a contribution you have made to RSGB magazine on wire antennas design and construction. I wish you all the best. Enjoy your radio. Be safe. Regards Steve
I hear you, Tim. In the past month, I've had two folks approach me about starting a RUclips channel. I tell them up-front to decide if their goal is growth, subscribers, and income, or just to do their own thing and have fun. If the latter, the best thing you can do is *not* look at YT stats and just do what makes you happy. Enthusiasm is infectious. :) RUclips doesn't necessarily reward this, of course. I speak from experience having, what I like to call, an "anti-algorithm channel" myself! Ha! I love your approach--keep up the good work! Best, Thomas (K4SWL)
I read once: 100 soldiers crossing a bridge into a village, are 100 soldiers crossing 100 bridges into 100 villages. We all "do radio" for different reasons. There all good... Yours Tim, is the sheer love, fun and excitement of "getting out there", and "fishing" for contacts across the world Your genuine enthusiasm is really infectious... and that, to me, is strong point As you can see in the comments after each video, everybody loves you. And that's worth gold I wish you a meaningful Christmas Tim.
I’ve tried quite a number of your projects Tim & learned a lot , I received my licence almost 70yrsago & there was nothing like your channel then to learn from . I’ve hopped in & out of the hobby since then but concentrated on it more the last 10yrs. Many thanks Tim & have a good Christmas . Roger G3KMV
The golden rule is make the videos you enjoy making. Some of the ones I've enjoyed making most have least views. It used to upset me especially as these were the ones that generally took me the longest to edit, but I eventually realised that those videos satisfied me the most. All the Best for 2024 Tim! 73, Fraser MM0EFI
Fraser that is so true. It becomes apparent that self satisfaction is the key to producing output and I totally agree with you. I hope you and yours have a nice Xmas 73
Merry Christmas Tim. I love you “doing” content. Your series on doublet antennas and feed lines was a godsend for my operations at home. Just keep being you.
Happy New Year Tim to you and your family. Nice to watch someone who is straightforward and gets to the point. I use the fast forward if I get superfluous content (such as unpacking a box). Looking forward to 2024. 73
Thanks Tim, and Happy Christmas. Personally I have really enjoyed your channel, which I have watched from the start. Your videos are excellent for the simple reason that they are informative, entertaining and useful. Looking forward to seeing more of your great content in 2024. Regards, David
Hi Tim, i like the approach. In my opinion you are the virtual "knowledgable and helpful bloke from down the radio club". I very much enjoy and learn from your videos. 73 de John G0KTW
Tim, at the end of the day its your channel and you put out the content that makes you happy, plough one's own furrow i think the phrase is. Thanks for the content, have a great festive period and heres looking towards 2024 👍 73
Tim, thank you for the videos and I for one enjoy them. Enjoying what you do shows with anything and if your passionate about something nobody should ever have the power to destroy that. MERRY Christmas to you and the family and we all look forward to your 2024 content. I was just saying to Stu the other day that Stu, Callum and your own channel have inspired me over the last year or so. Thank you Tim 🙏
Hi Tim, im glad you are still making videos. I haven't been on the radio since march but will be set up again soon and hope to work you again. All the best for 2024 and hope its better that 2023. 2M0WKC
Happy Christmas to you Tim, and yours. I ‘see’ you have changes planned. Good fortune in those. Thank you for your advice via e-mail and in your videos. Greatly beneficial and enjoyable. 73. Phil g0nik, Suffolk.
Tim, you (and Callum) have been a big inspiration to me, it was watching your videos that made me suddenly decide get off my backside and actually book my Foundation exam two years ago. Since then I have passed my intermediate and my full license. You were very supportive when I was having 'issues' with my previous callsign. I can't thank you enough for your content. And I look forward to next year's videos from you whatever they are pal. Keep doing what you love. Wishing you a great Christmas and a wonderful New year 🎊🎄
This time of year is always good for a spot of reflection, Tim, and after reflecting on what you've just said myself, I'll still be looking forward to your videos in 2024! 👍
You have inspired lots in the hobby, and have shown a lot of folks that mobile operations can be fantastic especially if you live in a built up housing estate and cant put up a big antenna .
Well said Tim, keep doing it the way you do as it is always educational and very interesting, antennas and feeders have always been one of my passions going back to 1972 when I passed the RAE and got my licence, building radio and audio stuff with valves and hand made chassis. Best wishes to you and your family for 2024 Regards Dave. 😀😀
Im sure we will enjoy whatever you decide to do Tim. I think you would be surprised actually how many people you have inspired in the hobby and lots look up to you Tim. Happy Christmas to you and your family.
Good on ya Tim keeping it real!!!! Be nice to see an updated video using maths of what you can fit in a small garden.have a great Xmas n very prosperous new year 🎉
Hi Tim, Merry Christmas! I really enjoy your channel and put me onto the MAT tuner that I use with a 12m long wire and Spiderpole for /P. Had some really good results. You also inspired my foray onto 10m with a Flowerpot and I also avidly read your RadCom antenna articles. I especially enjoy your practical antenna video's and am looking forward to the spring when I can start up again in earnest :) 73 de M0SNR
lovely video Tim, your channel is one of the very few I still regularly watch from back before I was licenced, The old charley Tango hilltop nets on 27mhz, the M6 days & the 2E0TWG days, always been good content, very relatable and honest.no flashy gimmicks or endlessly spending big money on loads of gear. I hope you and the family have a great Christmas & I look forward to you return in 2024 when you able to. 73. Jim 2E0HKM
Jim, you have been there from the start and I always appreciate your input. It’s great to see you are still with me on this RUclips journey. 73 and have a cracking Christmas and 2024.
Hi Tim. Agree & same here…hopefully stuff I’m doing anyway that’s useful/interesting to others 👍🏻 I was disappointed at the end of your walk intro as I was fully expecting a “Ham Radio. It’s brilliant!” Fast Show’esque ending 😁 Have a good break over Christmas and see you in 2024 🎉 Any champagne importers watching, feel free to send me samples to review 🍾🥂👍🏻
Well said Tim! Totally agree with all that you said. I had a big smile across my face when you mentioned "Fluff" lol.. I don't do videos like this on my channel, but believe me I want to..! lol.. Cheers Tim, have a great xmas!
As a new HAM after retirement, I've learned and comprended a lot from your channel. I will always appreciate your efforts on the channel. All the best and hope you have a great Holiday Season. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 73 de KI7MJU
Tim, keep on being you! :-) Merry silly season, have a good rest and we are looking forward seeing you next year. I'm also looking forward to the next 145 Alive, got myself a new antenna I want to try out. Cheerio! Jan M7HNK
Fair play Tim, I like the keep it real attitude ! I am considering doing some streaming but I don’t really fancy having a ‘channel’ as such just somewhere to dump ideas and tips as it were. Keep it going and keep it real ❤❤
Some very thoughtful words there Tim. I think it ok to promote a product once in a while. As long as it's going to promote or aid in our hobby. And not bog us down in more tech we don't really need. Happy Christmas to you and your family and look forward to more content from your channel in the new year. David M0DUU
Tim, there is an old saying: "You never know how many apples there are in a seed". You may never know just how many you have inspired and how many of those that you have, will later inspire their own peers. I come from the world of broadcasting and I can tell you that being GENUINE is what the public truly wants even if they do not express it. So just be yourself and if something in amateur radio inspires you, just share it with all of us. Your enjoyment and enthusiasm always becomes our enjoyment and enthusiasm. Here's to wishing you a safe, healthy and HAPPY 2024. 73 OM
I always enjoy it when the folks I subscribe to go and interview other creators and specialists in their niche to find out what makes them tick. I wonder if that might be something you would enjoy making, vids where you chat up the movers and shakers about something of interest? Online interviews are easy enough. It's a bit more of a technical challenge to set up a multi-camera system with wireless lav mics, lighting and proper sound treatment (as I found to my cost). I'm looking forward to seeing what you get up to this year.
Tim..I understand your comments..I don’t want to get too ‘wordy’.. I, and many of your subs really appreciate ALL your videos and hope that you will continue making videos In exactly the format that you’ve been making up till now.. Please don’t be discouraged and keep them coming..please! 73 and merry Xmas!.. John..G4EIJ
Thanks Tim i watch your videos because i enjoy your content, operating radio study of propagation and how it affects the transmitions. If you enjoy making the content then it is interesting to watch well done for doing what you do in the hobby, it inspires others. I always say if you can specialise in one thing in this hobby, and everyone else did the same with their niche in the hobby just imagine what a hobby we could have. Merry Christmas to you and family
Merry Christmas Tim love the live streams from your mobile I personally enjoy your approach to this hobby. 73 wishing you all the best for 2024, M7CVK Tony 26TG064
Happy Holidays Tim! Keep up the good work and here is a thought for you.... Let's start just at the SO239 plug on the radio.... Let's do an in depth on Jumper Cables, of which the typical base station probably has 3 to 6 meters of which. Then let's delve a bit further to perhaps the next run of coax or transmission line up to the antenna. I am sure there are bifurcated tales here with HF and UHF selections and trade-offs. But I do think that quite a bit of stations are using old RG8 or RG8-X in the shack... and at what cost in dB loss for transmit and reception? Well in any case have a prosperous and healthy 2024 and catch you on the stream and on the air. 73 Art W1SWL
Well said bachgen. I have found your videos useful and informative and to the point where it has inspired both myself and my brother in-law to get out and do more portable ops. Hope all is ok with you Tim and kind regards & seasons greeting to you and the family. Nadolig Llawen 🏴
Like your plan Tim, keep it simple, do what feels right, I certainly like your antennae discussions and builds, look forward to your vids n topics in 2024. Merry Christmas to you n family
Happy crimbo Tim and a happy new year, your content is always good, there’s quite a few that follow the new item scene, boars the shit out of me, a lot of what you’ve built I’ve copied, I’ve even messaged you for advice and got it. All the best dude
Keep on doing what your doing Tim, always love your content. The latest gimmicks and fads that people create content on are just that, just create what resonates with you, if you pardon the pun :) 73
100% Tim keep it real, a lot of people don't have the time for these 'super' channels that need to but out at leadt x video's a week. There is a lot off fluff. Having a play and an experiment and not taking it too seriously is where it's at. Merry Christmas to you and yours too 👍🎅
I have watched several RUclipsrs burn themselves out trying to please their subscribers. I learnt the hard way in life that if it's not fun/enjoyable then don't do it because no matter how well you think you are coping the hidden stress will catch up in the long run. Do what you like doing and when Tim and all will be well. 73 and like you I am hoping we have a great 2024.
There’s some real chancers on RUclips in the states one named Jason who has about the 2nd greatest amount of followers, was adamant that aluminium didn’t conduct! How the hell he got his license baffles me.
You’re very modest about your RUclips channel Tim. It’s without doubt one of the better channels. I see a lot of willy waving in our hobby, as in mine is bigger & better than yours. I don’t care if people are using a £15 handheld or a £2000 HF transceiver I like to see people enjoying our wonderful hobby that is Amateur Radio. I have a couple of interesting videos planned for next year that might be a little controversial and ruffle a few feathers. All the best to you & family for the Festive Season and see you 2024. 73 Chris M0RSF
Some great comments and observations Tim, the bit about the froth was spot on and it’s not hard to spot. I’ve been out operating on occasions and taken lots of footage only to get home and delete it all thinking it’s a bit samey. On other occasions I’ve gone out and done my thing and just left the camera at home. Only on a few occasions have I thought to myself that I need to get out and do a video, but then I give my head a wobble and question why. It needs to be for me, for the right reasons and not for the likes or subs. I love positive comments and that people enjoy my videos but the day I find myself saying don’t forget to like and subscribe then please someone please shoot me. I do enjoy making the content for my own very humble channel and if others enjoy it that’s a real bonus. Plus it is nice to have sense of community where you are encouraged, as well as encourage or even inspire people to try something different, to make or try a different antenna or whatever. Your videos have done exactly that, as have some of your Radcom articles so thanks and kudos to you for it. Keep on doing what you’re doing Tim for a long as you enjoy doing it but if the fun stops stop, or at least change direction or speed… Cheers Tim, happy Christmas.
Kevan it’s been great watching your stuff too. You are very correct. It’s about the enjoyment of the person filming the video and conveying that. Best wishes for Xmas and 2024 and keep producing your inspiring stuff.
To my way of thinking, these superchats, patreons, ko-fi, etc, are a form of begging. The person is expected to pay a sum of money every month, no matter what the output of the 'tuber is, and whether they liked it or not. - - I hope that the problem that you alluded to gets sorted pretty soon. Best wishes, Tim.
Keep up the great work Tim, your channel is the first place I go when I want information that's actually backed with research, such as when I was playing about with doublets and more recently the random wire verticals. Personally I refuse to talk about any subject I know nothing about or have not researched. There are a lot of channels that should be labelled "for entertainment purposes only" as they talk utter bo****** about things they know little about while either on the peek of enthusiasm of the Dunning Kruger effect or just simply selling out. They are no real value to the community, quite the opposite as they are either knowingly or unknowingly exploiting/polluting the community with misinformation labelled as fact for personal gain.. But hey, some people just want to be entertained and aren't really watching to learn anything, it's just annoying as they just get in the way of the `good` guys that are actually doing the ground work. Don't get me started on those exploiting war and other peoples misery, just scumbags, hopefully their subscribers vote by unsubscribing as they will notice that very quickly in the stats. Merry Christmas.
Tim you are one of my biggest inspirations as a Ham Radio RUclipsr. Thanks for this straight up video. You are actually one of the few RUclipsrs I watch. Wishing you a great Christmas and a wonderful New year 🎊🎄
You are too kind Ian! Have a lovely Xmas and new year mate 73
This time of year is always good for a spot of reflection, Tim, and after reflecting on what you've just said myself, I'll still be looking forward to your videos in 2024! 👍
Thank you Lawrence, have a lovely Xmas and new year
Merry Christmas Tim, Happy New Year. All the very best, from Andy in Wolverhampton.
Thank you Andy and the same for you
Tim, keep doing what you're doing. Enjoy the hobby. I like watching your videos. I'm going to do the 2 meter in New Year based on your antenna.
Fabulous Tom I wish you well and have a great Xmas and new year
Thanks for putting out great videos best wishes and a happy new year
Thank you Kevin I wish you well for Xmas and the new year 73
You have inspired lots in the hobby, and have shown a lot of folks that mobile operations can be fantastic especially if you live in a built up housing estate and cant put up a big antenna .
That’s very kind sir! 73
Well said Tim, keep doing it the way you do as it is always educational and very interesting, antennas and feeders have always been one of my passions going back to 1972 when I passed the RAE and got my licence, building radio and audio stuff with valves and hand made chassis. Best wishes to you and your family for 2024
Regards
Dave. 😀😀
You too Dave belated new year’s greetings 73
Im sure we will enjoy whatever you decide to do Tim. I think you would be surprised actually how many people you have inspired in the hobby and lots look up to you Tim. Happy Christmas to you and your family.

Good on ya Tim keeping it real!!!! Be nice to see an updated video using maths of what you can fit in a small garden.have a great Xmas n very prosperous new year 🎉
Hey Andy, I’ll look into that one. Have a great Xmas and new year.
Thank you and have a lovely Christmas 73
hope all is well with you & yours Tim , Happy Christmas & a happy new year ,i'll be looking forward to more from you best 73
Thank you Phil, I hope you have a great Christmas and new year.
lovely video Tim, your channel is one of the very few I still regularly watch from back before I was licenced, The old charley Tango hilltop nets on 27mhz, the M6 days & the 2E0TWG days, always been good content, very relatable and honest.no flashy gimmicks or endlessly spending big money on loads of gear.
Fabulous!!!!! I should’ve done that! Happy Xmas and new year!
Well said Tim! Totally agree with all that you said. I had a big smile across my face when you mentioned "Fluff" lol.. I don't do videos like this on my channel, but believe me I want to..! lol.. Cheers Tim, have a great xmas!
Hi Matt. Yes I do have a certain way to describe things! Keep rocking with your stuff and I wish you a great Xmas and new year! 73

Seasons Greetings Tim. All the best for the new year.
You too Matt 73
Tim, keep on being you! :-) Merry silly season, have a good rest and we are looking forward seeing you next year. I'm also looking forward to the next 145 Alive, got myself a new antenna I want to try out. Cheerio! Jan M7HNK
Hope you have a great Christmas Jan and enjoy that antenna!
Fair play Tim, I like the keep it real attitude ! I am considering doing some streaming but I don’t really fancy having a ‘channel’ as such just somewhere to dump ideas and tips as it were. Keep it going and keep it real ❤❤
Go for it Steve. Be yourself and have fun. Others will appreciate you for it. 73
Some very thoughtful words there Tim. I think it ok to promote a product once in a while. As long as it's going to promote or aid in our hobby. And not bog us down in more tech we don't really need.
Happy Christmas to you and your family and look forward to more content from your channel in the new year.
David M0DUU
Thank you David and to you and yours 73
Good for you Tim. Have a Great Christmas.
You too Chris 73
Tim are a credit to the Hobby, I love your films on antennas, you put it all in perspective.
Thank you so much Brian take care and seasons greetings 73
Tim, there is an old saying: "You never know how many apples there are in a seed". You may never know just how many you have inspired and how many of those that you have, will later inspire their own peers. I come from the world of broadcasting and I can tell you that being GENUINE is what the public truly wants even if they do not express it. So just be yourself and if something in amateur radio inspires you, just share it with all of us. Your enjoyment and enthusiasm always becomes our enjoyment and enthusiasm.
Here's to wishing you a safe, healthy and HAPPY 2024. 73 OM
Thank you very much sir! Best seasons greetings to you and your family 73
Nice ideas. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great Xmas and new year
I watch and subscribe off and on and you are the best as far as antennas are. Keep up the video's.
Pete, WA2JMG
Thank you Pete, your support is much appreciated 73 and seasons greetings
Tim..I understand your comments..I don’t want to get too ‘wordy’..
I, and many of your subs really appreciate ALL your videos and hope that you will continue making videos In exactly the format that you’ve been making up till now.. Please don’t be discouraged and keep them coming..please!
73 and merry Xmas!.. John..G4EIJ
Thank you John. You have a great Xmas and 2024. 73
Great points Tim and I’m glad you stopped by. Have a lovely festive season 73
Good stuff Tim. Keep up the good work - and Nadolig Llawen! 73s

Merry Christmas Tim love the live streams from your mobile I personally enjoy your approach to this hobby. 73 wishing you all the best for 2024, M7CVK Tony 26TG064
73 Tony enjoy Christmas
Good thoughts Art. Have a great Christmas and new year 73
Well said bachgen. I have found your videos useful and informative and to the point where it has inspired both myself and my brother in-law to get out and do more portable ops.
Hope all is ok with you Tim and kind regards & seasons greeting to you and the family. Nadolig Llawen 🏴
Diolch Andrew. Enjoy your festive season 73
All the best Tim! Hope you can enjoy a few days off work. Take care of yourself. - Tobias DL3MHT
You too Tobias! 73
Like your plan Tim, keep it simple, do what feels right, I certainly like your antennae discussions and builds, look forward to your vids n topics in 2024. Merry Christmas to you n family
Thank you very much Mark and have a lovely festive season 73
Happy crimbo Tim and a happy new year, your content is always good, there’s quite a few that follow the new item scene, boars the shit out of me, a lot of what you’ve built I’ve copied, I’ve even messaged you for advice and got it. All the best dude
Thank you! It’s a pleasure to hear from
You and I wish you well for Xmas and 2024 73
Good plan, just be Tim having fun on radio or showing us something interesting, without playing know-it-all as a few others do 👍
Thanks Michael
Well said Tim do as you are happy Christmas 73
Thank you Andy and have a lovely Xmas
Evening tim I am very grateful for all the really interesting stuff you do have a really lovely Christmas mate
Thank you John. Have a great Xmas and happy new year
Keep on doing what your doing Tim, always love your content. The latest gimmicks and fads that people create content on are just that, just create what resonates with you, if you pardon the pun :) 73
Thanks, will do! 73!
100% Tim keep it real, a lot of people don't have the time for these 'super' channels that need to but out at leadt x video's a week. There is a lot off fluff. Having a play and an experiment and not taking it too seriously is where it's at. Merry Christmas to you and yours too 👍🎅
Absolutely! 73!
Happy Christmas and New Year buddy
Belated to you too!
All the best Tim... Always enjoy your vids... keep going 👍
Thank you Robert have a great Xmas 73
Happy Christmas Tim!
Thanks Andy and you too!
merry Christmas
You too!
Great points John, you have a great Christmas 73
Likewise Chris, really enjoy the concept and production of your stuff. Have a smashing Xmas and new year!
Happy Xmas Tim & family!
73 M1DDD
You too Nick .. to you and yours! 73
Merry Christmas Tim
Thanks David, you too! 73
Keep on doing what you’re doing Tim for a long as you enjoy doing it but if the fun stops stop, or at least change direction or speed…
Cheers Tim, happy Christmas.
Kevan it’s been great watching your stuff too. You are very correct. It’s about the enjoyment of the person filming the video and conveying that. Best wishes for Xmas and 2024 and keep producing your inspiring stuff.
😍😍Love you Timmeh😍😍
You too Mr Higuys x
To my way of thinking, these superchats, patreons, ko-fi, etc, are a form of begging. The person is expected to pay a sum of money every month, no matter what the output of the 'tuber is, and whether they liked it or not. - - I hope that the problem that you alluded to gets sorted pretty soon. Best wishes, Tim.
Thank you! Have a lovely festive season 73
Thanks mate. Yeah I get what you are saying and I agree. Have a great Xmas!
