The all-new Civic features a sleek and sporty silhouette, which has been achieved through lowering the bonnet line 25mm over the previous generation, whilst the glass area has been increased to create a light and airy interior. To exude a refined, premium feeling, cleaner, noiseless, surfacing has been applied, with more defined belt and feature lines highlighting key details.
The lower feature line enhances the assured stature of the vehicle, as well as giving improved visibility from the rear seats. In comparison to the previous generation Civic, the base of the A-pillar has been positioned further back to align with the centre of the front wheels, this gives the car a more balanced proportion in profile as well as a wider, more assured stance from all angles.
This sleeker body profile makes tyres appear larger and in combination with the wider track and tighter wheel-arch hemming, achieves a sporty, ground-hugging stance. Despite taking a new approach to aesthetics, the famed practicality and human centric thinking of the Civic family remains a key characteristic. For example, the side mirrors are now attached directly to the front doors, helping reduce unnecessary blind spots and supporting the safety of drivers and passengers.
The Civic is famed for being the do-it-all hatchback and the 11th generation is no exception, providing more space and usability than ever before. The 35mm longer wheelbase has allowed designers to create a more expansive and comfortable cabin space as well as improving dynamic performance and straight-line stability. The construction of the tailgate is now resin, a first for Civic. Developed using new manufacturing technology, the weight has been reduced by 20% compared with the previous Civic, making it easier to open and close. Additionally, the supporting hinges have been moved outwards, achieving a cleaner roofline and further contributing to the new sleeker rear design.
Once inside the Civic, the horizontal style of the dashboard emphasises the width of the cabin which, when combined with a wider field of vision gives a truly airy and open feeling. The interior also benefits from new tactile, high-quality materials throughout, including a striking metal honeycomb-pattern air vent detail running the width of the dashboard. On Advance grade the drivers’ display now features a 10.2-inch HD colour LCD panel for improved visibility.
The new Civic offers an intuitive infotainment package. The size of the central touchscreen has been increased to nine inches and has been moved upwards to minimise up-and-down eye movement. The system comes complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility to keep occupants connected whilst on the move.
In addition, to further enhance occupant experience, the Elegance and Sport grades feature eight speakers whilst the Advance grade features 12 premium BOSE speakers for a concert like audio experience.
Honda’s proven e:HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) powertrain technology is offered as standard and its application in the Civic, sees the deployment of a new 72-cell lithium-ion battery and two compact, yet powerful electric motors paired with a newly developed 2.0-litre direct-injection, Atkinson-cycle engine. Combined, the powertrain delivers a maximum motor output of 135kW and 315Nm of torque. The latest iteration of the internal combustion engine has several new elements within its architecture to help achieve a thermal efficiency of 41%, one of the highest figures within the automotive industry for a production road car.
The two powerful electric motors work together to provide the primary drive force for the all-new Civic. The engine is controlled by a new, compact Power Control unit which now sits under the bonnet with the rest of the powertrain. Sitting under the rear seats is the latest version of our Intelligent

I’m so glad that Honda brought back the Civic Hybrid! We loved our 2006 Civic Hybrid.
Me to 👍 is a great car
@@SDADanCars Than you so much Dan!
Have you changed the battery on your hybrid car? I heard they are kinda pricey
@@Mannycreated We got rid of it because Honda would not replace the batteries until they would hold less than 20% capacity! I don’t mean less than 80%, either. I fought so much with Honda that I couldn’t take it anymore. They also had a recall to make it so that you could only use 50% of the hybrid batteries. I couldn’t even get up my hill before the engine had to rev on high. The engine was only 1300cc and it needed that assist. I ended up getting a small settlement from Honda, but I had to agree not to be part of any future lawsuits.
I really loved my car until the problems arose. I swore never to buy a Honda again. The most reliable car that I ever owned was a 1982 Accord 5 speed manual, but those were simpler times.
@@mitchellbarnow1709 battery degradation is gonna be a much bigger problem on EVs, the first batch tesla model s started having problems (design flaw - water leaking into battery over the years) and the battery replacement is like 22k USD.

Nice review. Cheers from Austria!
Thanks 🙏😊👍
Thank you for another great video Dan. I am considering this as my next car (Advance trim, in Crystal Blue with the Carbon style pack). I did not like the previous generation but I have to say this one looks great. It is much more elegant in my opinion and the interior looks really good too. I think I might go for a test drive and see what it feels to drive.
Yes totally agree 👍 I like this one to much more
As always, Great review. Thank you.
Thanks my friend 🙏
Test drove the car too, great experience. Feels way more planted than 10gen and torque down low is just on another level. Ordered mine and waiting until April.
Yes I totally agree. More planted on the road ans better visibility than 10 g.
Yes agree 👍 Thanks for feedback 🙏
Wait, people actually order a car 7 months in advance? I would never
Conso during your test ?
Ordered mine beginning of November 2022. Planned delivery date May 2023. Beautiful car to drive Very quick
Awesome video bro 👏🏻
Thanks for feedback my friend 🙏
good job dan love the new car that is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jason 👍🙏
Salut Dan bel essai de cette Honda Civic Merci mon ami

🤍 Great car!. Thanks for your work
Thanks also for feedback 👍
What a fantastic review!!! Did you try the BOSE sound system??
Thanks 🙏👍 yes I test Bose and they are super 👌
Wich camera and wich settings you use?? Nice video
I ordered one prior to all of the reviews hoping it wouldn’t disappoint!! Can expect mine on Nov 2nd, the second civic in my city :)
Nice Paulo 🙂👍you will love it
Omule, ai cucerit nisa de POV-uri! Sincer, ca si calitate esti acolo sus cu AutoTopNL. Bravoooo!
Merci Seba 👍🙏 inca mai am mult de munca ...
@@SDADanCars Hard work pays off they say! Apropo, stii cumva daca Civicul asta foloseste motorul hibrid Atkinson de pe Corolla?
Sound system review is something that I always expect from reviews but seems nobody does it. Like sometimes the sound system can help to know whether you can jam in the car when doing long trips or stuck in traffic. Hope i'm not the only one. :)
Thanks for feedback 👍🙏 i will try to add this in future videos
Already drove it, amazing! Buying it tomorrow :)
Thanks Irena for feedback 🙂👍 Drive it safe 🥳
what's your waiting time?
@@SDADanCars, thank you very much! And keep doing the great job with your channel 🙏
@@pasiutrial currently 3 months.
I didn't intend buying a new Civic. Drove it, and came back with "Wow!" comments! Already ordered, can't wait!
you say good things good in honest way trustful.
👍👍
Excellent review! So many effort in details, clear voice and picture... Thanks Dan! Can I kindly ask you (suggest), if possible, to do the test drive on motorway driving 130km/h? What is the cabin noise and consumption in such driving conditions? I do 50% of driving on motorways, trips about 650km in one direction, and I'm interested if one fuel tank (40 liters) is enough for such a trip. Also, what is the range driving in fully electrical model, speed up to 40km/h? Petrol engine starts running at around 60km/h? Thanks, I appreciate you help!
Thanks for feedback 👍 🙏 I will try to test it at 130km ...I think should be around 6l ....electric range ...not sure to tell you ...I will have to test it
6-7 litres at such speeds. Like pretty much any other petrol car of this power margin at this speed
Great job Dan. I couldn't get a 308 in the UK so I think I'll get the civic.
Thanks Andrew 👍 🙏 I think Civic is a great car with good price and super economy
@@SDADanCars in the UK advance is £32k....about chf 35k..a similar spec golf hybrid/id3 will be more and I think its a better package than the corolla.
thanks for the review. What I love about this car the most is the fact it feels properly modern. And the interior quality especially that metallic mash it looks almost Porsche like. Seriously thinking about buying one next year.
Thanks for feedback 👍🙏
It feels cheap. Nothing like a Porsche
@@mharro88 No it doesn't feel cheap at all, he did say almost Porsche like. Considering a Porsche would probably be three times the price.
@@greymark420 but it's not though the plastics are cheap as hell...that mesh feels like it would break in 5 minutes
@@mharro88 Disagree. Took one for a test drive, much higher quality than previous generations of Civic. Nice soft touch materials, screwed together well and the mesh is metal not plastic. The Advance which i have ordered has leather seats heated and electric with a panoramic roof and heater steering wheel. Of course it would not be as premium compared to Porsche, but as stated earlier Porsche would probably be three times the price. I currently drive a FK8.
Love your review. I have a 2018 Focus st line x 1.5 tdci and love it . Looking to change now, but can't get a new Focus. Think i'll get one of these after watching ypur review. How do you think it compares to the Focus st linex?
Gerard if you want good economy go with Civic ....
What a nice car, looks just like an Audi A4 inside but with Japanese quality. 👍
Yes true 👍
Interesting. Blind spot warning blinks even if you are not using the turn signal. It used to just blink like that if you have your turn signal on in previous model. Otherwise it just lights up. I guess...its a little better. Wish I could afford this, but I really love my 10th gen too.
Yes Joakim right 👍👍 you will get it one day
I have the sport touring 2022 hatchback. I wish Honda sold this car in the US. I'd trade for a hybrid in a heartbeat. Love those automatic folding mirrors!!!
Yea it is cool 👌
I don’t like that the infotainment screen is angled away from the driver, there is no usb socket in the central armrest cubby (for a back up iPod for when, inevitably, Spotify crashes!) and the lumbar support only goes in and out not up and down too (I’m 5’10” and the lumbar support was far too low down my back when I test drove the Civic e hev)
Honda CHIVIC 🤩 So cute☺
🙂
like the look of the 1.5 petrol but my 8 gen Civic just keeps on going and going and going.... not a fault in 8 years.
Oh yes they are great on engines 👍
It's a pity you didn't make much of city driving. The hybrids are great at this exercise. And it would be interesting to see and hear how it starts, stops, etc.
Tomorrow I go test it again in night time drive...I will go in city with it 🙂👍
@@SDADanCars appreciate that.
By the way, how it feels pressing the brake pedal? On some hybrids it's kind a discrete, not so clean and transparent as conventional cars have.
i drove this for about 10 kilometers in the city at 3.5 l/100km i believe pretty balanced uphill and downhill, i imagine this managing 4 l/100km in the city long-term if you try hard, I believe it will do figures as good as Prius, combined is 4.5 l/100km no problem
Could you also test drive it in a dense city with lots of idling and stop and go traffic? I think that's the great advantage in fuel consumption of the 2.0 e:Hev vs the old 1.5 liter turbo engine.
Yes I will try 🙂👍
I have a 2020 Civic EX and I really like the car, my next car will be this Hybrid Civic !
Nice 👍
Same here Alex. 2018 EX Civic. But this new model will blow your mind! Test drive it, you won't be disappointed in any way!
Lovely car 😍

by the time the civic hybrid gets here, it'll be 50k plus.
God I love this sportsback look. It's very affordable too.
I think this is a nicectransition wherecwe use less petrol and not relying on electric charging infrastructure. Definitely gonna step from my BMW 118i to this one with next contract.

Hye, SDA Dan Cars, nice review! For your opinion: which car drives nicer and has better sound isolation - Peugeot 308 or this Honda Civic? What could you say if some people compares this two cars? Thank you.
Oh Arnas ....so hard ...both have good sound insolation almost similar. I think Civic will be more economical....now is hard to say...both are great
Is there a big difference between Corolla and Civic cruise control? In Civic, there is reportedly no distance radar that the Corolla has. I want to buy one of these cars and I can't decide.Your reviews are always the best. thanks
I have a new crv hybrid with set up as the Civic can you stop the car, leave it in drive or reverse ,and just switch off the power button mine seems to put it into park when you do this am I doing something wrong. This was the system I used in my Peugeot 3008 when shutting the engine off
Great video man! Do you know if this is coming to the US?
Thanks for feedback 👍 for sure will come
Ambient lighting above the gearshift, door panels etc?
Yes 👍
Is the cabin quieter than your Model 3?
The new Civic looks like someone tried drawing the accord from memory
Can I ask you, how tall are you?
To get a reference for the overhead space left by the panoramic roof.
1.73cm 👍🙂
Thanks for the great review. I am about to buy a Corolla Touring Sport, is this a better car? It would be my daily commuter for work, 17 km each way. I have a diesel mhev XC60 for long trips. Thanks!!
Both cars are great and you won't regret....try Both and see which you like more
It does look quite spacious inside. I am surprised, does not look it from outside.

A question on safety operations - what happens if you press Park/Reverse/Neutral whilst in Drive mode? Does it ignore or warn or cause some fun times to happen?
It will ignore it 👍

I am also having a Tesla model 3. Which one would you pick among the two, if u have to pick one now? Civic or model 3?
Very hard to say....I like both....for comfort Civic ....for economy Model 3
Thanks. Questions on some details:
1. How good is the noise insulation and build quality of Civic when you compare it with Model 3? (Because I find some ICE cars in model 3's price class or even less a bit more silent, esp. at highway speeds. And the door closing sound of model 3 leaves a lot to be desired. I recently checked a civic at showroom and find the thud much better. Still test drive cars not available in NL )
2. How is the forward visibility when compared with model 3? (I could not really feel this while in showroom as it is just standing still)
3. Does the paddle shifters behind steering wheel provide enough regen to help one pedal driving?
Btw, a small correction to your 'Civic' pronunciation. It sounds like 'Sivik' and not 'Chivik'.
That’s a really nice car but to expensive for me but still enjoyed the video Just sayin from north of Newcastle 🇬🇧🇬🇧🚗

It’s a pity you can’t get the black headlining from the Sport trim in the Advance trim…
Yes 😪
I actually wrote to Honda (not the dealer) about it and still waiting for their reply
Honda made an engineering masterpiece with this car. And at this price point... I'm driving a Ford Puma ST right now, which will be payed off in the next 2 years, but i'm seriously considering this Civic as my next car. My first car was a civic so i'm full circle soon. :) What a shame that this car won't be able to sell as much as it should, considering the strict rules EU has layed on the old continent. Does it still make sense to buy this car in 2024-2025? i'm not sure.. But I don't care much either.
Yea true 👍
I wonder is there more sound insulation in this EU model vs the US model? The US reviews highlight the road noise..
...not sure
I really like how the new 2022 Civic looks. The only thing I wish Honda did is giving the customer a choice between a Hybrid or a combustion engine. I drive a long time with my cars, and my concern is the Hybrid battery life after 7 years.
Idk where you are, but in the US, to be able to sell a hybrid car, the battery must last minimum 100k miles. I suppose Honda being a Japanese brand the standard 100k is default.
I think battery should last for 10 years easy....you never know...it can be even more like on prius
@@SDADanCars we don't know about how long the battery will last and how its capacity will drop within the years...Bingo! No one force car manufacture to do so! Even you journalist dont ask about it...
@@predragkardashian3730 Honda hybrid battery life expectancy is between 6 to 10 years or up to 100,000 miles. You have a dependable 8-year/100,000-mile warranty for your battery. Some batteries can last a little bit longer if you drive frequently on the open road, for about 10 years or even closer to 150,000 miles. If you drive in the city all the time, it's gonna die sooner. It depends on how you use your car, just like it depends on how you use your smartphone or any other device that is powered by a battery. It's simple, you don't have to be a scientist to figure that out.

Are hybrid cars actually more economical in long term than regular ICE if a battery change is included? Let's say you want to keep the car, do about 15k km per year and battery needs to be changed in 10 years or so which can cost anywhere from 2k to 8k. This means all your fuel saving from hybrid might mean nothing and you might even end up paying more for the hybrid in the long term? What am i missing here?
I think yea on long term

It is a grandpa car now, last Civic was standing out and it will look cool no matter how many years will pass, this design is already oldtime, grandpa, retiree style! I ve seen a video where they were saying that they elected this conservative styling because they ve been told the previous one was too eccentric! Well, isnt that what modern cars should be like? Last Civic is still so nice and unique, curves, accents, this is so blunt but being a Civic will do great as is in North America where it is the market they always aim for Civic being a top choice for years and rightfully so.
Have to disagree, the last Civic was ok if you were a fan of the fast and the furious anybody over 35 looked ridiculous getting out of one this model is the one that won't date the last generation will date badly in my opinion too many spoilers side skirts fake vents etc etc.
@@pillred5974 Whats wrong with Fast and Furious? I'm 60 and driving a Formentor VZ. Cars are like clothes, if you like to dress nicely they have to have style and design. If you don't care you can buy a new Civic. This is a grandpa car no matter what, I would be quite surprised to see any people under 40 buying this new one, Honda clearly shows they are not interested at this age market with the new Civic but the one over 40 and especially the North American and Chinese market. Its price also shows that. The new one will be quickly forgotten, has nothing to show for, the previous one will be a classic soon.
@@pillred5974 yet 80% of 10 gen owners are over 35...
Yes agree 👍
@@pkaps5799 I'm 66 and am thinking of getting the new Cupra Leon but would never have been seen dead in the old Civic too Chavy for me I'm afraid at my age I like to be fast but not obvious.
People forget that this civic has a CTV transmission
Yes 👍
No it doesn't, there is no gearbox, research it for a full explanation.
I think you meant CVT.
@Greymark There isn't a CVT in this version? I want to know because I believe this version is coming to the states later on this year and I would like to check it out.
@@peruvianheat2053 Sorry for the late reply. The gears are simulated through the speakers and there is no CVT gearbox. The wheels are normally driven by the electric motors, if you are overtaking the engine and motors work together. On a motorway the engine will be used exclusively via a clutch system.I have one the Advance model ( coming from an FK8), probably the most refined and fun Honda i have driven and i have had a few. I am from the UK and getting between 55 and 65 mpg.
Interiror looks like Audi A4
Yes 🙂
There is no place to put a mobile phone, for the purposes of taxiing...
😪
Bro there is not transmision 😂😂, is always electric 😂😂

01:48 wtf is chivic?
14999 swiss franc?? So cheap
It was a mistake I think 🤔
more like 40000 +
The Civic has been out since the 1970s and is an extremely popular car. Milions of people have owned it and there are countless rewievs of it so the thing that I find truly incomprehensible is how in the name of sweet baby Jesus can you not pronounce Civic. This confuses me even more since you obviously know a lot about cars and have dedicated a lot of your time to them. You must have heard someone somewhere say the name, especially being surrounded and communicating with car people. I'm just so confused. It this is some sort of an inside joke thing, then sorry to have bothered you. Otherwise completely agree with you. A great car. I drive a 2019. Mazda 3 hatchback, but if this Čivic was on sale in 2019, I would have had a hard time choosing between them.
Yes ...the problem is that in many countries they pronounce it different....and I get use with it .....
😢
Could you tell me how to travel in time?!?!
You can do it ony channel 😁👍
Honda chivic😂🤦
Chivik
😁👍
Interior looks like Dacia Logan / Sandero. 😂😂
In fact, I like it, and I intend to drive this car to check it out better. Seems to be its way better and simple interior than stupid screens everywhere, drives me crazy with this new ''trend'' of touch and screens. Plus the fact it's very economic, so why diesel? I really will drive and check this car closely.
@@1theblacksheep Why you don't you check Dacia?
It is cheap and it really has only essential up do date tech feature... Navigation, rear camera, led lights, drl and so on.
@@romb1818 Thanks, it's not a bad idea! But I'm looking for a sedan o a good-looking hatch, here Dacia sells only Sandero that I don't like the visual or the SUV like Duster that I could consider but I don't want an SUV. In my list it's also the Corolla that I'll drive soon and the Camry...what I am really afraid of is that I would pay more and go to Audi or BMW direction... I didn't want, but let's see... I'm kinda Open, I need something comfortable and economic for long travels. Thanks guys
It is much better then Dacia Logan 🙂
@@SDADanCars And MORE EXPENSIVE than Dacia. 🤪😂😂
A Full equipped Dacia Sandero with Navi, Rear Camera, LED, DRL, (the necessary modern gadgets) is 18k Euros.
The cheapest Civic without Navi, Rear Camera... Starts Much Above 18 k Euros.
