Small brinjal - 300 gms
Cumin seeds -1 tsp
bay leaves -2
Black cardamom - 1
Onion -2
Ginger garlic paste -1 tbsp
Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder -2 tsp
Cumin powder -1 tsp
Coriander powder -1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Roasted ground nut powder - 1-2 tbsp
Tomatoes(medium) - 2
Salt to taste
Cooking oil-4 tbsp

I tried this recipe today. Instead of 1 glass water, use a little bit of it at the end so that sabzi is not that watery. The recipe doesn't require that much of water.

Mam aaj ye recipe try ki thi maine .. presentation wise to bhut acchi thi...gravy b kafi acchi thi per baigan me koi taste ni tha...means gravy k sath to acche thy baigan but akele baigan me kuch missing sa tha...agar hm baigan ko marinate krk fir 2-3min k liye oil me stir kre to shayd ye recipe aur bhi acche se nikhar k aayegi....just an opinion wanted to share with u...plzzz reply

Very nice. Maharashtra people use shengdana powder in sabjis. Please add jaggery in just smaller amount to compensate for typical taste of brinjal.

it should not be eaten "owing to the large number of seeds in the vegetable, because the seeds are the carriers of new life." Some also will not eat tomatoes, guava, or other fruits with lots of seeds
