Hey yall good to see yall 🎉 Abby got yall in our thoughts and prayers 🙏 !! Nate little tip I use a Silver Sharpie it's like chrome and lable all my controllers just for that reason !!! Sharpie 39108PP Metallic Silver is what its called !!!!
Tried a boat in the last couple of years. Old neighbour pulled his older one out of storage. Naturally, i had a go. It looked about 1/16th or so? But my goodness, it had a bit of go go in it. Lol. Almost made me buy a boat.
The Sonicwake is a great fast boat but not if you don't like it sitting halve sunken. I love tugboats and will take a recovery boat for stranded boats every time. For fast boat I got the Recoil 2 instead, self rolls back over using a flywheel attached to outrunner motor. The Jetjam is getting a brushless swap, lose self-righting . Richardson tug is modded with dual esc, a VSP tug needs to be build in the future but the GARRT swamp dawg is also a great recovery airboat.
Ya know, you are right! It does definitely have that as a downside. When not in motion it definitely sits half sunken!! The recoil is an amazing boat, but this one just has More Power!!! 😅👍💯😎⚓️
I saw the title and I thought it's not as fast as my sonic wake and then I started watching the video and it is a sonic wake lol I absolutely love this boat I also drove it the first time without taking the rubber boot off
Wow ! I own traxxas nitro's , the Tmaxx , Rustler , and the Jato , the boat is really cool to watch, I think I may buy one ! Thx Guys for the awesome video
pretty sick boat! might have to get this next season, i've had a blast with my blackjack but had to get a recovery boat pretty soon after i put a speed prop on it haha. i appreciate that this uses a standard receiver so i can bind my dx5 to it. i had to replace the esc/receiver before i even ran it as it was bad out of the box and didnt want to wait 2 months for horizon to replace it
Luv my first SonicWake (currently running stock motor & HW Seaking 180A ESC) so much that I bought my stepdad a V2...and, now, I'm 'building' a second V1 (from hull), which will be a dedicated 6S boat (my other V1 will become a dedicated 4S boat). The second V1 is being built almost entirely with TFL parts from OSE, and SW upgrade parts from RC Boat Bitz. The two exceptions are a custom TFL Stinger adapter plate from Mad Lizard, and OSE's fiberglass Seaking 180 mount. As strange as this might sound to some, the 6S boat is being set up for 'pleasure' (slower speed & longer runtime), while the 4S boat is being set up for speed (thus, unfortunately, 'minimal' runtime). Although, if anyone thinks about it, it should appear to be a 'logical' choice...the 4S boat, having a smaller motor (3674 vs 3682), and lighter battery packs (two 2S vs two 3S) will be lighter.
Every time i have someone watch me use an rc, how far does it go? I say, who cares, i wont be able to see it. Farther than my eye sight. Thats a cool boat
Love you guys! Would you consider recording and uploading in 4K60 😅 I understand if it's too much work or your cam just can't handle it. Hope you reach a million subscribers, your channel is deserves the exposure!
Hey Keith! We used to upload in 4K but it really does a number on our camera and PC! Plus, upload times, editing etc… But we’d love to have better equipment to get there one day, consistently! Appreciate you tuning in, and maybe be on the lookout for that to happen!! 🤞👍😎💯⚓️
I see some of the more , 'nicererer' spektrum equipped cars are coming with that cheaper radio that doesn't have the nice telemetry lights for the battery. in a boat situation, that'd be even handier than in a car. That thing moves out pretty nicely! An ya can't beat that glass surfaced pond either.
Glad that Abby is back and feeling better ❤ Nate you are really blessed or lucky to have such a really cool and loving Wife 👍 and after getting out the hospital Abby is 100 % back to herself like nothing ever happened !!! But i do have to thank you both for really helping me to get hooked on the RC Hobby specially the air plane's i watched your videos for a while and took your advice and bought a areo scout the big one in 2021 ! But you said it could bind to other plane's so please help me out and tell me what other plane's can i could bind to ? I have 5 mini war bird's that are 4 channel just like the bigger 4 channel areo scout so what other plane's can i bind to Nate ? Please Help Me Out Bro 🙏 🙏
Can confirm these things are awesome and go like a scalded cat. Can also confirm that if you run it full speed into a boat lift the nose will crack. Can someone tell Horizon Hobby to finish their website rehab already? I need a new one, but I don't feel like ordering one from a website that has a big warning banner basically saying "Eh, maybe this will work for you. WHO KNOWS?"
So I take it that when you play with RC boats you run the risk of them flipping and having to go into the water to recover it? I'm new t o RC boating looking for things to consider before buying my first one

Great video and boat. I used to build and race boats in the early 80's using OPS and K/B methanal and castor oil mixes. I had various boats with my biggest with an OPS 90. Are people still using OPS and K/B engines and in what boats please ?
@@TheRcSaylors Handling isn't really impacted. The two things to watch/test for is heat build up, and self-righting. The extra voltage will bring a lot more heat into the motor, so a couple quick full throttle blasts should be followed by some "cruising" to let the motor cool down before more full throttle blasts. In essence, it's no longer a boat to just bash with, it starts to become a strait line speed boat. With the extra weight and size of the batteries, the center of gravity changes such that self-righting is hit or miss. Most people who go down that road use hatch tape and have a recovery boat (I'm one of those people) because you just never know until it happens. Running 8s makes the boat incredibly fast. 65-70+mph w/o any other modifications than the Firma 160A Esc. Trim tab and turn fin adjustments, and flex shaft greasing start to really become important at full speed. The more you modify the boat the faster it goes, but as speed increases so does the danger and risk of injury and loss. Proper prep, smooth water, patience, and a little trail and error will yield you some pretty exciting results. I know modifying RC vehicles isn't really something you do on your channel, but if you were ever going to dabble around with the idea, this is probably the vehicle to do it with. Drop in ESC, Drop in 40mm motor, switching out propellers, upgrading water cooling... all super easy to do, all things that other people already do, and things that can turn that boat into an absolute missile on the lake.
Pretty far, a had a bit of trouble seeing it that far before I lost signal. Thankfully I stood away from the shoreline so I could move closer after losing signal

Basically, yes.
Even though many boats have a ‘self righting’ feature, it’s always best to have a means to recover your boat if needed.
Apart from flips, weeds and other obstacles can snag it and cause you grief.
Many ponds here in the UK are only knee deep so waders are enough to retrieve but in deeper water a small inflatable dinghy is a good idea to have with you.
This channel will give you all the info you need to help you choose your first boat.
Happy sailing 😃

No. Most have the auto flip trick built into controller. Plus, if you water tight your boat b4 your set it in water it'll never sink. Just flip
It would sound so much better if it were a gas 2-stroke.
I think, it’s called: FLOOD CHAMBER
