Back then, a lot of people appreciated noisy beats and party songs in Naija but rn, I think the cool wave kinda Afro beat and Afro piano is killing it and that’s why Burna boy is being appreciated. There’s a time and a season for everyone and everything. I didn’t like burna boy then and his pattern but from Ye and a few others made sense to me.
In conclusion, I do think Wande coal killed it. This is the new wave and a lot of oyibo people love this kinda cool afrobeats that isn’t noisy cos it relates more to them and sounds more like the songs we grew up listening to back then. The likes of Bruno Mars, lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Kerry Hilson, B.O.B, Celine Dion, Dildo, Alicia, Iyaz a thousand of others.
Let Davido fit himself in if he wants more of international recognition Or focus on his career (which he can do for sure).
