Well I feel a little better now that I watched this post. My wife and I are going into a 30 day escrow this Friday. I have set up a money market account that the money will go into the day of closing. Then it's off to Idaho, move our stuff into storage in Caldwell and we will be staying with our son and his girl friend until we find and close our last home. At 69, this is it and we do not want to do this again. We did not even put our house on the market and have a buyer that was more than willing to pay our asking price without all of the back and forth and delays. Thanks Kory and Bonnie, you made me feel like I have all of my ducks in a row, soon we will be saying see ya later California..hello Idaho..Chris
Wow, things are moving quick for you guys! Sounds like you have positioned yourselves well. The money market decision was wise as well. Many of our clients fear bank bail-ins, as much or more, than the struggle to find a home. We have to put our money somewhere in the intern, and that one is what I would have done. From where I see it, you guys have the ducks sitting as well as they could. Blessings!

Our house should be ready to go on the market by the end of this month.
When sold we have a trailer we will be coming over and staying in RV parks while shopping.
Unfortunately for us I hope your jet boat is fuelled up and ready to go.

Great info. Makes us feel really good about our house here in Post Falls. Not that we plan on selling but it's still nice to know.
We were looking at North Idaho just short of the peak of the craziness. What worked for us was to sell our house with a 30 day escrow and a 60 day rent back. That way we could make offers with free and clear money. We would have liked to have rented in North Idaho first to feel out the area but there were almost no rentals available. The rent back was the key to our success. That way we only had to move once. One thing I didn't hear you discuss much was the difficulty in packing, moving, possibly storing goods, multiple times. This was our biggest issue. We wanted to only move our stuff once. We were lucky to find our dream home in North Idaho and all worked out well but it was stressful as the time in our old home was reaching it's end.
