First time CVP2022. I have a BFA and many art classes during a BA but I have learned more from you and your coaching team than I ever learned from any other instructor. I passed on all the other pop-up art stuff on FB but for some reason - synchronicity? - I clicked on you and am so glad I did! I love your art but it was your authenticity, humanity, and openness that drew me in. I felt, even online, that I was and do connect with you - the person!
I just love your boyish generosity. How you are always breaking into a smile, reminding me, like so many others I am sure, how much joy there is in playing at art! Inspiring! Totally agree with what Fatima said.
Ive been working on paper for obmver a year now. Too scared to "wreck" canvas. Well, i just watched this and part one. I was so taken by the moment and the fun shapes, that i busted out my paints and a canvas and felt the joy of playing with shapes and colours i dont particularly love. SO SATISFYING! THANK YOU FOR FREEING ME.
Great watching you just paint and talk ! I enjoy it very much ! And I cannot believe how much of what you say is similar to my thoughts while creating ! It’s great fun so thank you so much Nicholas ! Looking forward to many videos of yours ! It’s exciting .
I can watch you paint and talk all day long! I hope to take your CVP next year! This is beautiful actually gave me some ideas for a painting I'm working on and I'm stuck!
Love seeing your process Nick. Is there another post of you continuing with this commission or can we see what it looks like completed? So helpful and interesting. Thank you!
felt like I was there, doing the painting! Really enjoyed this- delicious whit, delicious grey, and a master class too, in the edger. Now I have to get one. Even though I have very little room where I live, I want to try some larger work. Thank you as always, for how you inspire!
I really enjoyed watching you paint this!!! I'm just experimenting with abstract so it was so interesting to watch how you put it all together and made such a cool piece of art. (I watched the first pass and this one; is there another one?) Thanks for sharing with us.
I like how un-particular you are - the lines are straight enough and the color is good enough. A great reminder to not become precious about these things too early in the game.
i could watch this for ever,🤩 love your pictures and how you develop them! could you eventually show us some close-ups when you „remove“ some of the colour (at 14:45 for example), from the distance i can‘t see much of a difference. thanks!
Your geometric shapes are very foreign to me. I really like your pieces and I'm surprised I do. I paint for me only and find it very difficult to have the kind of straight lines and sharp corners that you do. What inspires or leads you to this style? Btw I really enjoyed watching you and seeing what happened with the white then grey. Such transformation. I, too, hope to see how you continue and of course the final painting. Thank you for allowing such a long time for eavesdropping.
You mentioned in the first video that the paint is quite thick because you add cold wax, but what are you adding to make the paint drip, extra oil, thinner? Thanks
Really like this painting, it’s very bright and positive! I actually like the way it looks at 12 min. Could have easily just left it at that and it would have looked finished!
Hi Nicholas I was wondering if you painting in oil in such large quantities where do you buy your oil paints in order to make the amounts in your bucket. I also see that the paint is quite thin as compared to oils in a tube. I know you said you use liquid but at what stage ..to be sure it looks like the paint dry pretty quickly in order to run your trowel through it?
You're are an amazing instructor. I stated following when I started painting, but now I cam appreciate you more😊 . Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion.. it's truly an inspiration. What tool are u using to make the straight lines? I would like to order one since my hand shakes and it's impossible to draw a straight line .

Love watching your process Nick. Will look for your finished piece as I don’t see a third session. 😊
You switched the panel on the left, I like it.

I'm always amazed at what you cover up Nick in your paintings.

Oh no, I love it like it is. I am anxiously waiting to see what you do.
I love the movement and dynamics of this painting. So much fun to watch your process!
Is there a next episode of this diptych commission painting? If so, where is it? I'm interested to see how Nicholas resolves this. Thank you.
I love love love this picture. Also, watching you always makes me want to paint.
It is inspiring to see you paint over your background that is so full of life. It's very brave.
Really appreciate you sharing your paint time with us!!
More to come!
looks like a fun painting

Awesome! Would love to have you in CVP.
Wow… a whole new feeling. Thanks for sharing. Just watching is so motivating. Off to paint!

Did you ever find the finished painting anywhere??..😀
Love your approach Nicholas and the interesting outcomes maybe I can try giving this approach too
Fabulous! I hope you continue to take us along on the journey to completion. I’m excited to see the next stage.😊❤️🎨
have you found the completed painting anywhere
I've really enjoyed these two pictures. Us there one if finished piece x

Beautiful 🥰👍
Adding the opposite of what’s there, this is a good takeaway for me, thanks Nick

Wonderful! But why doesn’t paint drip off your brush

I admire how U use white of course I liked the bright color u have before now I wonder how the picture will look when u consider it is done .
Your voice comes and goes.
I really had my doubts about that gray, but it had the effect of heightening the under colors

Is there a continuing video after this to see what the final product was?
You mentioned in the first video that the paint is quite thick because you add cold wax, but what are you adding to make the paint drip, extra oil, thinner? Thanks
How do you get your oil paint so creamy and spreadable?
Yum the white paint looks so creamy, smooth and delicious, is it house paint?
where can we see the completed work

Yes, I'd really like to know how you're thinning your paint down to that viscosity. I use CWM but it makes my paint thicker, not looser.

Painters Guide, less than $10 at Lowe's or Home Depot. 😀
Hmm ... like that gray! What do you mix in your oils again? Galkid gel and Gamsol you said?
Was the white gesso? Or oil paint?
Am always conscious of the environment with my art practice, are the gloves biodegradable or compostable Nick? Love your work.
you said this was cold wax and oil......is there still cold wax in your fluid paint mixtures?
Just the off white and already sensational.
💜💜💜
No answer what your oil is mixed with?????
Chutzpah
He tells you in the first video
When doing this commission were you asked to use any particular color range or were there no limitations?
I think on the first video Nick mentioned that the commission is for blue and cool tones. Can't wait to see the next episode!
Don't the drips bother you? That would drive me crazy!!!
I love drips!
