I agree, it’s so much more convenient to be able to see it a month in advance. I used to use the Google app back when I had an android and I really grew fond of it because I was able to place the widget on the Home Screen and see all my events a week in advance. I currently use the Apple widget and unfortunately, I can’t see my events a week in advance. I am only able to see 3 days in advance and I find myself struggling with my future planning. I really want a widget that will show me a week or a month in advance that I can place on my home screen.
totally agree with you: it is unbelievable that they made the monthly view look like that for so long (which is the view that i need the most in my calender)
It’s crazy this feature wasn’t there in 2024… STILL android is superior in this regard cause there is a widget in android that can be placed on the phones desktop with showing all appointments. The widgets available on iOS only show next elements but not a full overview
Thank you for this update. Been a frustrated Apple user for a long time. Apple should continue to develop their apps to compete more and not take for granted our investment in their Ecosystem.
Thank you for this video. I was just explaining to the wife just how horrible Apples Calendar is and how difficult it is to even find your events. It pisses me off so much that I don’t even think I can wait until IOS 18.
I use Apple Calendar but sync the data with my Gmail account. Is there an advantage or disadvantage to this rather than syncing it with icloud? Do I lose any functionality?
@@kamikenze This is exactly how I use it as well! The only functionality that I think we’re losing is that the data won’t show up on iCloud.com when on a PC, but there isn’t really a reason to do that so doesn’t matter to me.

Completely agree about the month view. Glad that Apple is finally fixing that.
Apple is updating their calendar with ios 18 to be similar to googles where it shows you the events on the actual calendar instead of the little dot

Google is better overall, either way, I end up using both as each one can do something the other can't. Much easier to use both linked together.
