Next to Avatar: The Last Air Bender for me. Successful Japanese Mangaka are much more free because they just have to think up a story and draw it. Most animation companies don't have many restrictions, and so many manga get picked up and adapted.
Same. Hurts even more because before, during and even some months after I finished watching death note, I knew I'd do the exact same as Light. Only after reflecting a lot about it, I came to the conclusion that humans can never do the job of God. That is what made Kira fall down. Helps me keep calm nowadays.

It's a shame that they changed the ending relative to the manga. Imagine the ending of the manga, but sad music just flies in the background. There is nothing extra. Just Light's death and the closing credits with “Death image” in the background amd after the credits, Light's funeral is attended only by the unaware, like Misa and Light's mother with a traumatized Sayu and maybe Matsuda.
The manga ending would hit HARD in anime format. Still does in its own medium. Plus, there should've been the epilogue where Matsuda tells Ide about his theory of Near using the Death Note.
