Very difficult to obtain what you need, and terrible for those on limited incomes and elderly. They also made an app, which works as poorly as their website.

They really should change their name because they're no longer dollar tree. Some of their stuff is higher than 5 Below too. The products in the 2 stores here aren't organized by price. Well you asked for my opinion and here it goes..... This store was the only store left that we could all go into and it was $1.00 and we all knew it. If we wanted to go get something for over a dollar we can go to other stores to do so. This was all our happy place. A place we can know by counting our items how much it would be except with the little extra tax of course. Now they have very sneekinly raise the prices up little by little which was their intentions to begin with. They just didn’t want to slap it in your face all of the sudden. They wanted for the public to get used to the idea of little things here and there first and adding the .25 to the dollar items. The CEO has turned greedy. He saw that by increasing the .25 brought in extra more. I think if us consumers don’t take a stand and picket outside saying BRING BACK DOLLAR TREE TO A DOLLAR! Dollar Tree will be a thing of the past. He is getting greedy and we need to stop shopping in there and take a stand. If nobody goes in to spend there money in there they will be forced to lower there prices again.WE AS THE BUYERS CAN DO THIS! If they don’t make money off of us they will not be able to sell at such high prices. We have control. We are the ones making him rich. Let’s take a stand cause it’s the only thing we have anymore to go to when we need $1.00 items.
This is so sad to hear. Dollar Tree was fun to shop in when it was $1. You could buy something without feeling like you had to check the Walmart price. Once it went to $1.25, I just shopped there a lot less because $1.25 adds up and there wasn't so much the feeling of a bargain. When DT goes to multiple prices, I will be done except for some of the holiday, crafting and office supplies assuming they remain $1.25. If they have multiple prices on these kinds of items, I'll probably just go in for the wreath frames since those are unique to DT. I hate the 99¢ Store, Family Dollar and Dollar General because you have to check every price and it's not worth my time and effort (not too mention how dirty and disorganized they are). The same will be true for DT. I'm truly sad to hear this.
Hey Pretty! This is just another change in the world 🌎 of retail. It seems they are bringing in more $3-$5 dollar items, and less of the $1.25 items. On the other hand, you're getting more, but paying more at the same time. I have learned to adjust to changes I've encountered and keep moving. Did you know some DT's have self check machines? Thank you for sharing and have a beautiful blessed day. ❤
My DT changed over with the different prices awhile ago. I don't like it. 😮 I miss when you knew the price for everything. Now I gotta pay attention when I put things in my basket. 😅
I want to thank you pretty for bringing to our attention the price up at dollar tree. BUT girl every thing else has gone up, so to me its really not a shocker lol 😂 I just go with the flow 😮😮😮😂😂😂 take care girl 👧 ❤❤😂😂
@@grillbaked yes, that’s not hard to understand they have limited room. I would think you would be happy to get quality items for 3-5 bucks…. But maybe you just want junk items
Those starbucks drinks tripped me up. I bought two thinking they were going to be $1.25....NOPE $3.75. I've never been so mad at my dollar tree for not properly displaying the price of these items beforehand 😥
You're being given more options at a higher price point at the expense of LESS options at a lower price point. The store only has so much room. How does sound good to you?
Sick and sad world we live in today. My biggest issue with this is this people who live on nearly no income and they depended on the dollar items. My heart goes out to them because they are the ones who really needed it to stay the way it was
The $1.25 items in my store have changed, not all but many have. Reader glasses are now $1.50, large 1 litre soda bottles are now $1 75, that's all I grabbed today and that was enough for me, no more special trips to DT.
I can tell u those $5 furry blankets r AMAZING & they r the same size & feel like the $20 ones from Walmart or dollar general! I buy a lot of them for the homeless bags I make & I cleaned out a whole row when I saw them because u can't beat a $5 throw blanket!!!
Sad to see prices change....might as well go to Walmart, Big Lots, and the other stores as the draw for Dollar tree for me is not there. I may go in to look from time to time but I won't be buying much there. That same thing happened to the 99 cent only stores....I rarely buy anything in there now. They will probably lose some customers but raising prices for those that still go will balance out for the store in the long run as prices will continue to rise.
Thanks for all of the info and the walkthrough. Personally I wish it had all stayed $1.25, but you made a good point that some areas don’t have much more than a Dollar Tree to shop in. If this helps them, then I’m totally fine with it. TFS xo Jen
Dollar Tree was a place to buy close out or discontinued items for $1.00, then $1.25. But now it’s just another Family Dollar /Dollar General! It will be Walmart or Target for me, after all Target has coupons and rewards. Good bye to an era 😢
We have a few of those in my are. The only things that I recognize from the dollar tree there are party, crafts, and storage items. Everything else is regular family dollar item and prices.
Dollar Tree has owned Family Dollar since 2015 the way they’re changing prices they might as well turned all their remaining stores into combo stores because none of the good stuff is $1 anymore
We (in NJ) had a store called DEALS that became a Dollar Tree. I loved it but I also liked when everything was a dollar in the store. I do like the Plus Section of DT that they currently have. I got some nice Halloween, Christmas and Easter decor well worth the 3-5 bucks and some good storage options too.
At15:27, there are lilac silicone brush holders with suction cup attachments. I bought eight of these when they first appeared in stores to use as brush dryers. I can finally properly dry the brushes in a vertical position so moisture doesn't seep back up into the ferrule
I don’t like the change. Dollar tree was the place I could take my grandbabies and feel like a millionaire, lol. Now I’d have to ask them how much something is before I buy it😢
It looks like things are pretty much the same except the Plus part is throughout the store instead of certain isles. What I’ve been hearing is that the $1.25 stuff is going up to $1.50. I didn’t see you find that.
I try to stay in the lower priced section. The joy was finding something for such a cheap price. I tend to just buy craft stuff for the kid and cleaning stuff for me. Sometimes basic containers for organizing. I stay away from the electronics. I dont trust the quality so no point in paying $5+ to just throw it away. Its also giving me Big Lots.
It was bound to happen. I think the best part is better quality and selection. I hope they will continue with cleaner and more organized stores with merchandise on the shelves instead of boxes on the floor. Also more checkers would be nice to keep the lining up at a reasonable level. Great and thoughtful video! Always appreciate you❤❤
I personally am so disappointed with Dollar Tree! These companies don't care anything about us, the consumer. I had an experience a couple weeks ago with some items that were $3.50 & $5.00, unbenounce to me. Needless to say I couldn't get my money back because as we all know, DT only does exchanges. Because of them raising their prices, we should take a united stand and demand they give refunds like every other retail store. I promise you that I will NOT buy anything over $1.25! If I wanted to pay more then I would go to Walmart, Target, Dollar General, etc. They just had to be greedy and change things. I'm not happy at all!!!
@@countycalling no wonder you are defending them all through the comments. Better look for another job bc they will surely price themselves out of the market! If you think I may not know what I speak of let me reassure you 28 yrs in retail and my husbands 35 yrs in food and beverage tells me otherwise
I have to say that I always enjoyed shopping at the DT because you could find good stuff and occasionally name brand deals at $1 and then $1.25. I quickly do check the $3 and $5 aisles but something had to be pretty spectacular for me to buy it because I can get that kind of stuff at Walmart, Big Lots, Aldi, Five Below, etc! Also, this is going to confuse lots of shoppers who don’t look at the package to check for a price and assume what they are buying is $1.25! ☹️
I used to be able to turn my son loose in Dollar Tree, and give him a fun $10 shopping spree. Can’t do that now because he won’t be paying attention to the prices, and I’ll get to the register owing $50. 😂
I was really upset when dollar tree went up 25 percent .not even 10 percent .that was crazy ,then got use to that ,now this ,not very happy, at least target has some items in dollar spot for a dollar. Thanks for letting us know❤😊
Here in Massachusetts it's been changed since the 1st of the year! Some they are calling DollarTree plus.. i don't like it. I have bought stuff in the $1.25 section an it rang up $5!
I liked Dollar Tree when everything was a dollar. If I wanted other options I'd go to 5 below. Job lot, Odd lot, ollies etc. etc. Most of Dollar Tree's $5 items appear to be 5 Below items. I do agree that when this price change occurred the flooring and shelving changed too
So it’s all running together??? I am a teacher so I’m waiting to see if this will impact school stuff. Sometimes I use dollar tree on stuff I know kids will destroy. My Amazon stuff is top shelf.
Mine has a few shelves of $3 and $5. DT Plus. But I saw 1lt soda signed for $1.75 ( I don't drink side so I don't care) Mine is an absolute hole. So I only enjoy DT when I hitch the wagon up and venture out of town. 😂 Thanks for sharing!
Dollar Tree was like the last place you could go and feel like, yeah I can afford this and I'm not being overcharged. Disappointing 😒If I wanted Five Below stuff, I would go to Five Below. On the other hand, for people that don't have other options like Five Below, it may be needed. And hopefully, if they're increasing prices, product quality and size will go up too.
You have to know your prices. Unfortunately I found many name brand items are now cheaper at Walmart than Dollar Tree. For example, 1 item was $.40 cheaper and another item was $.76 cheaper at Walmart! 😢
I live in a small rural town with 2 DT's within 30 minutes of me. We have no .99 stores in Wisconsin and the closest $5 Below is 90 minutes. I'm happy to see some options, but we haven't even seen the regular Plus section yet. From what I've seen in different shopping videos, the $1.25 section is the same it's always been. I don't think the DT can be expected to stay at the same prices when every other store is showing increases across the board. Thanks so much for asking! 🤗💗😍
At my Dollar Tree in Phoenix Arizona the minimum price of 1..25 has gone up to 1.29. Nothing is less. Has had the plus higher section for months. Compare prices in other stores before buying at Dollar Tree unless it’s the only store close to you. I’m disappointed with higher prices. Not able to save as much money anymore which my family needs.
I don’t agree with the price increases on same size items, especially in the food section for those who can only grocery shop at DT, it’s too much…Now it’s just like any store, it doesn’t feel special. Now I go in and wonder if I can find a similar item for a better price elsewhere.🤷🏻♀️
I'm a new subscriber. This was a fun shopping trip. Thank you. I had no idea Dollar Tree was introducing $3 and $5 items. I dont know how I feel. I need to go and check it out. Thanks again. Wishing everyone a nice day.❤
Hi! Just found your channel… first I wanted to say how lovely it was to see you put things back where they go (you even organized some misplaced stuff)… hate when people just throw stuff everywhere. As far as the prices… honestly I didn’t see any increase in quality of items when they raised it to $1.25… now they’ve just become another 5-Below (which isn’t even that anymore… they’ve done the exact same thing). Ugh.
I’m disappointed like so many others. It was unique and fun to shop for deals when it was all $1. With the variety of prices being introduced, it is just another store where we need to compare prices with other stores to get the best deal. It loses its appeal and I don’t stop in as often. When I do go in, I don’t buy the higher priced items based on principle. I have heard from others that they do the same.
I think it would be nice to see the price per oz. on items bc there’s no way some of that stuff is a better deal; Crest, Oreos, generic cereal. Personally, I find myself just going for the $1.25 items. Anything else and chances are I’m buying it at Walmart.
That's great that Dollar Tree is carrying more name brand items (at a higher cost). However, some of the $3.75 items I can find cheaper at someplace like Walmart, or on sale at the grocery store.
This happened to us in Canada around the end of last year! There was price hikes on almost everything. We already were paying $1.50 but now pretty much all food is $2 and up. Same with cleaners, light bulbs, pet food. Things of that nature. Have to really watch. Not to mention we don’t have BONUS item areas in our stores the way you do over there.
IT'S NOT GOING UP. Let me break it down to y'all. 😀 The majority of Dollar Tree items are still going to remain $1.25. What is going to change is the new PLUS section that they're adding, and as you can see there will be stickers indicating the prices (if not, it's that one store that failed). Also helium isn't cheap, hence balloon prices are going up (but this is everywhere). Soda is up, because this being done by the vendors request, not DT. Sunglasses and prescription glasses are up as well, this is DT choice. Not much else is changing. Supply and demand plus the tariffs are all contributing to this. Gone are the days of shopping at 1 store for all of your needs. 😞
Yes, I’m glad they are giving a better selection of 5 dollar stuff. My 5 quarter store does not and will not bring in anything more than the 5 quarter stuff. If I want a better selection, even at the 5 dollar price point, I have to travel at least an hour away. Most of the stuff is still 5 quarters, but they have increased the 3-5 dollar sections.
i hated it at first, but you're right, it come in handy if I don't wanna stop at walmart I have more options. like, i ended up getting the $5 laundry basket just because I was too lazy to go into the walmart
Prices have already gone up in my local Dollar Trees in western Massachusetts. One lt soda is now $1.75, readers n sun glasses $1.50 and other things as well. Yeah, checking the prices at a "Dollar store" sounds crazy right??
I definitely have mixed feelings. I'm still getting over the 25c increase, but I can see some people finding it helpful so they don't have to go to multiple stores to get certain items.
I am lucky enough to live in a community with a Pop Shelf. Dollar Tree's changes provide all the incentive I need to just shop at Pop Shelf. Also in my dollar trees there was candy that was $3.75 and the only indicator was a ball point pen price written on the box. It was on an end cap with no signage about the price.
I rarely go into Dollar Tree now, so this isn’t an incentive for me to go at all. If I have to check prices I’d rather go to Walmart. But that’s just me. 🤷🏾♀️
DT was my go to place for plastic bins and storage items. I noticed not many plastic containers, even smaller flower pots. Now I’m gonna pay more for less. It’s not just DT raising prices.
Dollar tree is coming to an end. 😢
I was surprised that last that long.
I was cranky when it went from Dollar Tree to the Dollar 25 Tree. $3-5 get outta here! Stuff at WalMart be 98 cents.

We will either have to get used to the changes, or stop shopping there.
Price increases would be okay if my salary went up also!!
Exactly! I feel ya on that!😮🤔🤦♀️
My DT changed over with the different prices awhile ago.
I don't like it. 😮
I miss when you knew the price for everything. Now I gotta pay attention when I put things in my basket. 😅
The issue I have with our store is there is not near as much for $1.25 as there used to be to make room for the $3 and $5 things.
I want to thank you pretty for bringing to our attention the price up at dollar tree. BUT girl every thing else has gone up, so to me its really not a shocker lol 😂 I just go with the flow 😮😮😮😂😂😂 take care girl 👧 ❤❤😂😂
I’m fearing $5. Is the new $1.00
And 100$ is the new 5$😢😪😭
Nothing that was a dollar is now 5. Good lord
@@countycallingThey took away $1.25 items to make room for $5 items. How do you not get this?
@@grillbaked yes, that’s not hard to understand they have limited room. I would think you would be happy to get quality items for 3-5 bucks…. But maybe you just want junk items
@countycalling The $3-5 dollar items are still junk, they're just not junk that's a good deal anymore.
Those starbucks drinks tripped me up. I bought two thinking they were going to be $1.25....NOPE $3.75. I've never been so mad at my dollar tree for not properly displaying the price of these items beforehand 😥
Our prices are displayed
You don’t have to fix your hair for me ! Your scarf is cute🤟
It seems like they are simply expanding the DT plus items. The items that are typically $1.25 haven’t changed! I like that we have more options!
Some items did like the cereal
You're being given more options at a higher price point at the expense of LESS options at a lower price point. The store only has so much room. How does sound good to you?
The readers (eye wear) use to be one dollar, now they are almost two dollars where I live.
The increase in pricing is an unfortunate issue that affects everyone, plus the quality sometimes gets lost in the process, too. It’s very sad 😢
A price increase wouldn't bother me as much, if I knew it meant that they were increasing employee wages, but I doubt it.
We are getting Dollar Tree/Family Dollar stores built in my area.
Its a combination of both stores, only a few rows have $1.25 items.
You have such a relaxing, pretty voice. I know this has nothing to do with anything, but watching this at the end of the day just helped me relax. 😊
It's fine. Can't change it. As long as people can still get their basics for 1.25.
Sounds good, but the grapevine says that it will soon be 1.75, no more 1.25.
You CAN change it by not shopping there until they lower the price😁
Prices go up though, not down
Absolutely true!👍🏼
At15:27, there are lilac silicone brush holders with suction cup attachments. I bought eight of these when they first appeared in stores to use as brush dryers. I can finally properly dry the brushes in a vertical position so moisture doesn't seep back up into the ferrule
They need to change the name of the store..everything is sky rocketing
I’ll just be shopping at Walmart for comparisons 🥳
I don’t like the change. Dollar tree was the place I could take my grandbabies and feel like a millionaire, lol. Now I’d have to ask them how much something is before I buy it😢
Tfs. Dollar Tree has an app now you can use in stores to check prices. Some stores have scanners.
It looks like things are pretty much the same except the Plus part is throughout the store instead of certain isles. What I’ve been hearing is that the $1.25 stuff is going up to $1.50. I didn’t see you find that.
She saw the cereal that was 1.25 is now 1.75
Well everything is going up in price!
They are priced so I don’t by that bs at all I work there so nope items are priced
@@countycalling no wonder you are defending them all through the comments. Better look for another job bc they will surely price themselves out of the market! If you think I may not know what I speak of let me reassure you 28 yrs in retail and my husbands 35 yrs in food and beverage tells me otherwise
I saw on the dollar tree website that customers CAN get refunds now.
I hardly go now to DT and have been going to Dollar General for the $1 items. tfs
It is what it is!! It will be up to each person to decide if an item is worth an up charge or not🤗!
I like the stores with the plus sections because it gives you more options and is still ❤budget friendly.
Thanks for letting us know❤😊
I know that changes are inevitable, but you may as well shop at Wal-Mart/Five Below
Hi, I live in Las Vegas and my gf is manger at a DT and she. said they r rolling out in April all new prices so get what u need now
Here in Massachusetts it's been changed since the 1st of the year! Some they are calling DollarTree plus.. i don't like it. I have bought stuff in the $1.25 section an it rang up $5!
Happy Tuesday Ms Pretty ❤...... great video ❤..............❤ Mary
I liked Dollar Tree when everything was a dollar. If I wanted other options I'd go to 5 below. Job lot, Odd lot, ollies etc. etc. Most of Dollar Tree's $5 items appear to be 5 Below items. I do agree that when this price change occurred the flooring and shelving changed too
You look great as always
I wonder if they will raise stuff to $1.50? Another store that's not worth driving to.
Five Below changed too a few years back, because they they have items over $5.00.
Five and Over 😬😑
Yes!
That’s true
Ugh.
I saw today they’re closing a bunch of dollar trees and family dollars I think it was a bad choice to add the more expensive items.
Hey fam awesome stuffs Happy Tuesday 🥰❤️💙💜
I’m disappointed like so many others. It was unique and fun to shop for deals when it was all $1. With the variety of prices being introduced, it is just another store where we need to compare prices with other stores to get the best deal. It loses its appeal and I don’t stop in as often. When I do go in, I don’t buy the higher priced items based on principle. I have heard from others that they do the same.
I refuse to buy any higher priced stuff. It’s all cheap junk there but I didn’t mind spending only $1 for it.
The store looks super clean and stocked. Nothing too shocking.
Haven't seen your video s in so long ! Good to see you !
Yes they are definitely trying to compete with 5 below!
Thank you Pretty Amazing walk thru and thanks for letting us know about price changes
Thanks for showing us the new store set-up
I think it would be nice to see the price per oz. on items bc there’s no way some of that stuff is a better deal; Crest, Oreos, generic cereal. Personally, I find myself just going for the $1.25 items. Anything else and chances are I’m buying it at Walmart.
The fun of Dollar tree was knowing everything was a dollar. I guess the change is ok but it's just not the same.
I go to Dollar General $1 isle and get a few things they may be cheap and small but its in my budget.
Sry but I dont like where they've gone. Being on a fixed income I used to depend on the Tree to make the most of my limited money.
i hated it at first, but you're right, it come in handy if I don't wanna stop at walmart I have more options. like, i ended up getting the $5 laundry basket just because I was too lazy to go into the walmart
Odoban is an excellent product. We used it in the pet shelter. Great to see it at DT!
I love pop shelf!❤
Will be checking my Dollar tree tomorrow Wednesday! Thanks for heads up!
Some of the $5 items look pretty nice, like those stainless cups and those garden spinners. Love your Snoopy shirt! ❤
I rarely go into Dollar Tree now, so this isn’t an incentive for me to go at all. If I have to check prices I’d rather go to Walmart. But that’s just me. 🤷🏾♀️
Yes. Most have gone up. There's also a lot of stores are closing 😒
DT was my go to place for plastic bins and storage items. I noticed not many plastic containers, even smaller flower pots. Now I’m gonna pay more for less. It’s not just DT raising prices.
