My great uncle had one of those corn shellers. He built it himself. I was fascinated at how that you put a whole ear of corn in and corn kernels came out one side and the naked cob came out the other side. The pigs and cows got the corn... the outhouse got the cobs. I don't think uncle Ed ever bought T.P. He didn't have electricity or running water in the house. There was electricity to a water pump that watered his horse trough though. Water inside the house was a pitcher pump at the sink

My cousin use to plan all his vacations and day trips to places that had food challenges like these and he would clean the plate. He was a big guy and weighed over 600 pounds.

If you'd known the burger was going to be that big you probably could have split one among the 5 of you, even then I don't think it would have been finished. Where the menu said feeds 2-4, I assumed the burger would be about half that size. If you have a rematch with this beast, bring a group, some monsters require teamwork to slay! :D
No such thing as real moonshine and fake moonshine, better words would be legal moonshine and illegal moonshine, it always cracks me up when folks post about how the distilleries are not making"real" moonshine and the stuff you get from the woods is better or stronger etc. It's always obvious the people saying such nonsense do not understand how alcohol is made. It's made from steaming the alcohol out of the mash after yeast converts sugar to alcohol and then the alcohol steam is cooled and condenses back to liquid. So.... do you think this process knows if's being done in the woods or in a building? Nope, and the recipes are the same: grain, sugar, water and yeast. Different amounts, different grains and different yeast can produce different flavors, but again, it doesn't know if it's in the woods or building. And yes, I've had both Legal and illegal moonshine, they taste the same. This goes for all the places down there when it pertains to their actual full grain distilled moonshines, not the flavored ones (which are basically tempered down more and flavors added to make more palatable to the masses. But still using legal moonshine as it's base.) So, all the folks trying to act like billy bad asses and saying the legal distillers are fakes and not real, please educate yourself on the process and use the correct term of legal versus illegal and know they are the same product, the illegal one is just not being taxed, it doesn't know where it was made.

Heck yeah, it's a ton of fun. I was there in 09'. I didn't know about this place at that time. I did however go to a Chinese buffet there and there was a bolt about a half inch long in my stirfry. Just stating the truth. Overall though, it's a great place. Echota lodge in Gatlinburg was sweet.

Honestly, Ole Smokey is a slap in the face to REAL moonshine, but it is a fun experience, and they do a good job of being entertaining.
