Lot's of fish to be caught at both! Main difference Crab does not have a creel limit like Rend does. I do enjoy fishing the bridges at Rend however. Wind can be difficult at both of them, especially if it is blowing from the south.
Where is the best place to fish for crappie there at Crabb Orchard, using a kayak? I've onl been once there and fished another lake. Didn't catch anything 😕
On the north side of the lake near IL Hwy 13 there are brush piles placed by US Fish and Wildlife near the 2 bridges. Look for the green fish painted on the back of the guardrails. There is also a brush pile on the first point closest to the highway on the east side of the Haven. All of those spots should be kayak friendly
See them moving around later in the day when they are headed out. Most of them set up in shallower areas of the lake. You can hear them calling and shooting
Just moved to Carbondale in August from Metropolis. Crab Orchard has always held a special spot for me and is a favorite lake.
Welcome to the Dale! Keep your head on a swivel when driving they get a little crazy around here!
Thank you 😊
That was fun! I just subbed! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the sub! Feel free to share with friends!
Hello PFG
Nice Vid! If you had to pick one lake for a fall trip which lake would it be in Southern Illinois? Rend or Crab?

There's something to be said for NOT sharing your favorite lakes
Ain't mine, huge lake that is overpopulated!
Hey PFG, wondering if you run into a lot of duck hunters fishing in the winter months?

Thanks! Spend a good amount of time out there through the year but haven’t been out during duck season yet.
@@flamingbagpipes yeah I know there can be conflicts, I steer clear where anyone is setup hunting
