I’d ditch my Macbook for an iPad Pro (or possibly even iPad Air 4) if 3rd parties started making proper iPadOS only apps (in my case I need the education version of Fusion 360). Or if Apple made it possible to run apps on an iPad that were downloaded from the internet. I vote for the second one. That’s probably faster and easier.

Bought one 4 days ago love it, first ipad. Simply originally brought it to face time with my kids who had to get up ipad for school. Been an Android coder and user from basically day 1. I'm impressed.

It's a laptop for you unless you are into programing, require frequent file transfer to multiple systems, need descent gaming, need actual pro apps. It's also good for artist if your definition of art is 2D art. To get the full laptop feel the price you pay is basically saying 'get a bloody laptop'.

IMO, 64GB is not tenable without expandable storage. That pushes the Air up to $750, at which point you should probably just get the Pro. I feel the same way about the iPhone 12.
I don't know why you'd focus on the size of the bezels that much, as long as they're not gigantor. You NEED decently wide bezels on a tablet for usability, there's much more gripping it with the thumb going on since you can't just palm it quite like a phone.

I really like the stickers Google gives with their Pixel devices, but it really feels like you could flip a coin whether or not a specific product comes with them. As someone who never had an ipad before i bought both. The pro11 was on sale for €742 and the air was €699 for the 64 gb. God the screen on the pro looks much more colorful and contrasty in comparison to the air, it’s not even close. And i’m not talking about the 120hz. The speakers are also much clearer and with more bass which makes it sound less tinny than the air. Also the microphone quality in the pro is 1000 times better. Those made me return the air. Not the camera but for the small price increase i paid for the pro is worth those things and as a bonus 64gb extra storage, 120hz and better cameras and some better multitasking performance
Key word here though: Sale. In Canada it is still 175 Euros more for the pro 11. Mind you, even at that price difference, the advantages the Pro has are quite compelling.
It is still criminal *how much* more apple charges for extra storage, especially since it's not expandable, $150 for 192 GB more of storage is unacceptable in the current year. You can literally get a 1 *Terabyte* 970 Evo M.2 SSD for that price.

The chip in the iPad Air is NOT more powerful. It does better in single core but it has fewer cores so it does worse than the iPad Pro in multi-threaded applications

As a lifelong Windows/Android guy, I've got to admit, for like 90% of the population, this is all the computer they need. Although I still think it's overpriced, but you get the Apple ecosystem, and a little more privacy. The rest of us are like video editors, engineering, or some other special case scenarios.

MacBooks are moving to ARM chips and that means we would have arm based mac apps which can be easily ported to ipad or iphone.

The tab S7 includes a stylus at the same price. I think it's a way better deal than the new ipad air.

He just used the wrong terminology. He means a traditional computer(PC). So he's saying it can be used to do things one would normally do on a laptop.

I think it's weird that Linus is mostly enthusiastic when he unboxes things, but Riley and Laser James are always unclear on why they're doing the video until the end. "you want me to open stuff on camera? People watch that?" kinda vibe. So, if I had to choose, I'd have to say, Alex gets the concept and seems to have the most fun with the format. But it's always good to have Riley and Laser James do stuff besides yell off camera, they're always so entertaining.
