    Really loving you’re vids, so clear, concise and informative, nice to have a good British channel that talks about what we use here and not all USA stuff. Just subbed, keep the great vids coming especially for us newbies who like tinkering. I just risked it and got a Hatsan Novastar, it’s a beautiful rifle but very rough and ready so I know I’ll be having a lot of tinkering and work to do on it so you’re videos are very useful on understanding PCP rifles.

    You can always read about what to put where, but it's very helpful to see it and especially to see how much to use. I always used to use too much. I've improved a lot, but I can see I still have a way to go. Thanks!

    Hi Jeff thought I would put in my tuppence about silicon oil or grease! It is’nt toxic but if you are working with it wear rubber gloves! Reason cuts will not heal for a long time ! Apparently it stops the scarring on skin and wounds! I used to work on huge printers/copying machines- it prevented toner sticking to hot rollers. It is a very good lubricant for plastic/nylon gears or sliding surfaces! It is a bugger to wash off your hands and a hazard for slippy floors! Like your vids ! Can u do a vid stripping AA S400/410 trigger mech’s some time ! Cheers Fraser

    Could be useful on some internal parts.

    I did not easily and quickly find a powder moly dry lube.. so I stripped an ordinary pencil and powderized the core to get me some powder for my Belleville washer stack in the reg of my Sig Virtus airtank. Has seemingly worked well..

    • @sub12airgunners
      @sub12airgunners  10 месяцев назад

      yes that will work 😀

    • @ulary

      The black lead of pencil? If yes will it work on orings?

    • @brorjordas1979
      @brorjordas1979 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@ulary Yes. The plain core of a common pencil.
      But I would not use it for o-rings. O-rings get silicone.
      The pencil dust I only used for the Belleville washers. Put the B-washers in a small lidded plastic can and shaked it all around. Then I dusted all excess off of the rings one by onenwith a very soft hobby paintbrush. Some make-up brush of course also works well. But all of the very finest of dust was used. Surely gets yer fingertips graphite black if not using gloves..

    Good morning. Is silicone oil spray (molykote separator spray) good for O-Rings? Where I also have Bardahl 1688 silicone grease (inorganic soap + more viscous silcone oil), which is the best?. Thank you, friend !

    • @philbate5555
      @philbate5555 2 года назад +1

      Molly greas is actually used on potentially abrasive surfaces to prevent binding of the two surfaces

    • @falconwhitney
      @falconwhitney 2 года назад

      @@philbate5555 Hi Phil. Molly is good stuff, but I dont use black grease.
      When you finish putting that gun back together, your hands are black.
      I dont use black grease. You can not tell if the grease is dirty or not.
      The grease may have girt in it or even sand , and you would not know.
      I know you use new grease, but there is grease that is clean and it looks clean. And your hands will look clean.
      I have been a Mechanic for over 40 years. Yes I am old and stubborn .
      I like white Lithium,. And I use the red or purple grease when I pack bearings... The black grease looks just like nasty black grease I cleaned
      Of the bearings before I repack them. I like it clean, and not black.
      Just my input. Great video, I like your videos.
