really in love with the detail on this cruiser... makes me want one super bad. would be nice to have some safari music in the back ground. :) subscribed
@@RetrocosmNet It must have been a fair amount of work to record and edit so much footage, but the finished result is a lovely film, which does a great job of showcasing the patina you´ve created on this lovely old truck body. I´ve just posted a more humble RC FJ40 video and watching this one flooded me with determination to do more to weather my own body. I love the little patches of rust just below the rear window on the right side of your truck´s body, for example - and the rusty bumpers : )
@@RetrocosmNet The bumpers look utterly convincing - as does the rest of your rust. Sometimes less is more, and I think you realised that at the time : )
By the way, I loved both the idea of fitting hub caps and the caps themselves. I usually cut mine from one end of a Kinder egg or a roll-on deodorant bottle cap : )
Man!! Wow great job. Ive been watching all the land cruiser vids over and over. I can't get enough! Where did you get the hubcaps? Its a great tough. Ready for the next one man.!
Hi again. I looked at the build thread but not a lot of detail about the shocks. I notice this was after you switched to leaf. I am going for the resto mod look so don’t mind link and coil. Can you remember the shock lengths, spring rates and oil weights you used? Cheers , appreciated.
What size is your driver figure please? The handling of this rig looks superb. I am about to start my build but don’t yet have shocks or tyres so will look at your build thread 👍🏻
I have a question. What leaf spring chassis did you use? I'm looking for a wheelbase 290mm leaf spring body, and it seems to be similar. Thanks for your reply ^^
+ToTheMaxGaming1 They're currently $429 at RC4WD. They don't come with any electronics, but you can add waterproof components or waterproof your own. On the rock sets no idea, but they're built for outdoor use.
Retrocosm - Off Road Scale RC Thanks! I'm starting a fj40 project and I can't find the original hubs that you are using for a reasonable price. Where did you buy yours?
I got the wheels from RC Recycler, the hub caps were from a seller on Ebay, I think it was these:- www.ebay.com/itm/Hubcaps-for-RC4WD-Land-Cruiser-FJ40-Scale-RC-Axial-Crawler-/261786246804?hash=item3cf3ad1e94:g:CfMAAOSwv0tU58HG
Understated authenticity. You nailed it.
Thank you for your comments, I truly appreciate it as that's exactly what I was going for, cheers!
FJ40 looks great! Nice job with the weathering. Hubcaps look good!
The loose rock is a bear to get through!
Thank you, that was some tricky terrain.
Sehr schöner Land Cruiser!!! Den möchte ich auch haben für meine Sammlung😊
Thank you, I still have the body but not the chassis, let me know if you'd be interested in buying it. :)

What type of shocks does it have? By the way.... Super looking car
Cheers, once I'd fitted the leaf springs I took the coil springs off of the shocks that came with the kit and used those.
Thanks.
Beautiful build and fantastic video. Love those RC4WD kits! What did you use to weather the body?
+Marcin Jaskowiak Thank you, they're great kits. I used a mixture of Scenic Rust and Tamiya weathering kits for the body.

Thank you.
what kind of editing software do you use? BTW nice video, I like them with no music!
Cheers, I edited this with iMovie on a Mac.
Žarko Jovanović i agree about having no music

Oh hell is that an rc truck? Damn I thought it was real
Great build. What color/brand of paint did you use for the main color on the body?
+Mark Weitzman Hi, thank you. I used Halfords' Ford Dove Grey automotive paint.

It's the standard RC4WD Gelande II chassis converted to leaf spring.

No, it's an RC4WD kit.
Retrocosm Thanks, nice video.
