Hey Mike! Just wanted to say I am new to your channel, and picking up a RS1 Rivian in May 2025, and learning as much as I can thru your awesome videos, and just wanted to say thank you and truly enjoy your content! 👍
@@MikeKantorskiTech Thanks Mike I will bug you for sure when ready in May when I return my leased Tesla Model Y Performance for sure and pickup the Rivian!
I just want to say that I really appreciate the manner in which you present information. It's accurate, informative and maintains a level of positivity without compromising objectivity. In our polarized world, it's just nice to see and hear some balance. Thank you!
I love this brand, but it is looking very dark for them. The delays, cash burn due to losses and too high prices have put them in a terrible spot. I hope they make it, but it is not looking good right now.
Agreed, I love this brand too. But some of the recent issues seem very amateur. They are trying to be current Tesla, when they need to be more like initial Tesla
@@MikeKantorskiTech They should have started with a low cost EV and then it would have been game over. The amount of funds they had / have access to would have been enough to do something truly epic. Instead - they are following Tesla's playbook... but that playbook was for a time and place that isn't now or here.
@@mullholand the main reason why I think they had to go with the expensive model first is because they had no leverage over suppliers at that time so no matter what they did their cost would’ve been through the roof
@@MikeKantorskiTechNo, the reason they (and everyone else) had to start with expensive EV is because it costs Billions to release a new vehicle (even for ICE). Since it takes a long time to ramp up production, it makes sense to charge as much as you can for each unit until you can scale and average out your costs. Once you “pay for your platform”, you crank out variants of your “loss leader” and then you start to make money. If the model Y would have been 1st, it also would not have made money in the 1st quarter million units sold. But because it leveraged the Model 3 components, battery tech, software, factory, common parts (seats, lights, liners, screens, etc) it started to turn a profit. Rivian will be in the same boat when they can crank out the R2.
Mike, Great work here. I ordered an R1T Dual Large in mid July. Will i still be able to use your referral code? Can't wait for delivery, trying to be patient....
@@MikeKantorskiTech Bummer, I should get something for being so patient. No date yet wondering if it has something to do with the Large Pack. I haven't noticed any Large packs in there shop which makes me wonder. Large + would work but not seeing those either. Talked to Rivian at the Electrify America event in NY on Sunday and they said they would get back to me.
Ordered a R1S Dual Max back on Sept 25th since we couldn’t find one from the shop that had what we wanted. Does this mean the estimated Sept-Oct delivery might take longer? Well longer than October now?
It is a possibility due to the supply shortage and since it seems they are working out some kinks. Have you talked to your Rivian guide for any updates?
@@MikeKantorskiTech I don’t have a Guide yet. I’ve only talked to Customer Service and my local sales guy here in Las Vegas and he told me maybe beginning of November at the latest but my wife sent me this info that you just mentioned in your video and I didn’t really think that it would affect us. Hopefully it doesn’t fingers crossed by the way great job on your videos. I like that they’re straightforward simple and to the point. 👍🏽
I enjoy your videos, but I do not enjoy how you’re always a week behind breaking news. When your videos go live, all of the topics discussed are old news.
Totally understand, I try to report the prior week of news. Sometimes I’m later than I’d like due to my job and life. But I appreciate you watching! Hopefully still informative
@@MikeKantorskiTech Understood! I definitely am subscribed and still watch/like every video. I do enjoy watching them as they are informative and I often hear you discuss some smaller details that I may have missed. Thanks for your work, Mike!

Great work! You do a really good job putting these together. I’m looking forward to the next one!
Thank you so much! I enjoy keeping up, and hope I can find more time to film content with my R1T
signed up for connect+ because it sounds like spotify wont work without it. Gear gaurd cam is nice. Naitive youtube and chrome casting will be great.

Thank you! Unfortunately it isn’t retroactive :/ honestly a failure on Rivian’s part so you won’t be able to use the code. Do you have a date?!

Rivian for the loss. They just can't figure it out - they follow Tesla but fail at that and on their own - can't get out of their own way.
They definitely can’t seem to get out of their own way. Their product is just too good to fail, even with the mishaps. Hoping they can figure it out
