Most functions on the bracelet can be used without a smartphone. You only need a connection with smartphone to get notifications of the new messages and incoming calls.
I have an issue (Mi Fitness) where the calendar/events are not syncing. (enabled events ✓ ) (other data related in the band are synced e.g., workout, steps, etc...) My events are still due last last week tried to reboot unpair still no use why is that?
They've been having several issues with their app. It's my understanding that an update caused several flaws, but they have said they should be fixing those issues quickly

Trackers don't automatically change it for the app. Otherwise, Mi Fitness app is basically useless for USA buyers. Never seen fitness app, with no way to change measurement units. A shame, as Zepp Life worked well.

No such thing . Personalizing aesthetics only involves changing the 'watch face' which means you get to choose among a variety of watch layout designs which can show you your stats, the date, and time in different ways. The watch faces are premade and can be found on the phone app for this device.
What the video does NOT show you is that you need a XIAOMI ACCOUNT !!!!!!! to get the thing to work. I wholeheartedly REFUSE to have ANY account to use a damn WATCH.

What does not make sense is needing an account and a phone to use a watch! The watch could (should!) be perfectly standalone, giving you all the info you'd want on the damn watch. Just like it sucks that microsoft is constantly trying to get you to use a microsoft account to log on to windows when you can do all you need with a local account.

What is the max. number of alarms you can set? Is it vibrate only (no sound?). Can you customize vibration intensity?
I am not sure about maximum number of alarms, but it only vibrates. No sound, because there is no a built-in speaker.
I had this smartwatch and i super love it! It will remind you if you did not stand or walk or you need to move
Does the battery drain fast? My mom has it right now she charged it in the evening and the battery went down to 55% the next evening

It doesn't have a microphone or speaker, so it can't be used for phone calls. Not sure about swim tracking.

You can receive notifications of new messages and calls on the bracelet, but you cannot answer them.

Are you using the same MI account? The data is stored in the cloud, and it should sync in the apps when you log in from your MI account.
