  • A Requiem Mass for those who gave their lives in the capture of Lae, Papua New Guinea - men of 7th and 9th Divisions and attached personnel. Mass was celebrated by NX369 Colonel (Father) Patrick Treacy Boland (ACG - RC) and the address given by NX700225 (NX70612) Chaplain 2nd Class (Father) Henry James Reid (DACG - RC). Also seen are 31 (NX35000) Lieutenant General Vernon Ashton Hobart Sturdee CB CBE DSO, General Officer Commanding 1st Australian Army, and staff, walking along path to cemetery.
