I was unhappy when at 8 years old my family moved to a new and faraway town. It was an incredibly hot summer, but a town sponsored “Hot Diggity Days” contest was going on. I won a gigantic bottle of Miss Dior perfume and decided this was indeed an awesome town! It sat like a trophy on my dresser, unopened, until I went to college. That was 50 years ago. My mother and I loved Halston perfume in the 70’s. Grandmothers preferred rose hand lotions and Youth Dew. Thanks for the fun and memories today River! ❤
You had me at Elnett and Plasticine. What a lovely image you conjured up of wafts of ice cream, lemonade, daffodils and sunshine. We used to go to visit my nana in Surrey and she would always give us Ribena and homemade fruit cake. Then we would walk down the hill to my paternal nana to be greeted with jaffa cakes, green viscount biscuits and coke or lemonade . Ah, wonderful memories. Thank you for making me smile at the end of a lovely day x Love from Italy
I love a very old perfume from the Elizabeth Adern , Blue Grass. flowery, woody, warm musk. Reminiscent of sixties and seventies free joy and innocence.
I'm a vintage fruit - if you haven't discovered vintage 60s/70's Chanel No. 5 Eau de Cologne, full of the old fashioned materials, essentially the closest to the original composition, and this was the formulation that Marilyn wore to bed, you really haven't lived. These current offerings didn't make me quiver.
@@cherylsapcote7327how unfortunate. I wear Chanel No5 daily but there's a certain high end hand cream that I simply cannot use these days because I wore it constantly following major surgery and now it smells of pain. My sympathies for the narcissistic mother and the taint she bestowed on a wonderful fragrance

Oh River, you did make me giggle. The first few minutes had me intrigued as to why you were holding a tulip and momentary thoughts of Dame Edna and her penchant for entering the stage with gladioli came to mind. Then I went onto giggle some more thinking anyone tuning in seeing you sniffing a tulip with the sound turned down conjured visions of Hyacinth Bouquet and the opening theme tune where she is seen sniffing a flower and the caterpillar inside! Although by the end of it you not only had a colourful arrangement of flowers but a bouquet exuding essences of sex, love, happiness, energy, calm and power. Hope your chakras are holding up with all the combinations of fragrances! Thank you, I enjoyed this broadcast.

Great video as always! I just bought one of my favorite Penhaligon’s fragrances, Blenheim Bouquet, at the shop in Wellington Street in Covent Garden, and was dismayed that they’re now outsourcing the manufacturing of their fragrances to Spain! One of the charms of wearing Penhaligon’s was that it was made in England and was a truly British product. I won’t spend my hard earned money on Penhaligon’s again until they make their fragrances in the UK.

I'm an old hippie but I never liked patchouli. It reminds me of the head shops I frequented back in the late 60s. I'd love to try the rose one even if it has some in the background. I love a fragrance that sticks to the skin. It takes someone getting very close before they get my fragrance. I hate the old 80's headache inducing strong perfumes. You could tell who was coming into the room even before the woman was in sight! My favorite perfume has fig and pear notes and I love it.
I don't have a strong affiliation for scents or perfumes, and I think it stems from growing up in the 80s my mother always wore Elizabeth Arden "Youth Dew" and it's one of those quintessential overpowering, cloying fragrances you describe that sort of burn the inside of your sinuses. I think it permanently put me off. :) I think I'd love a trip back to one of those 60s head shops though, how lovely, even if they are emblazoned with Patchouli.

Hi River, I love your videos especially when Sassy. White paper and give it a minute, the dye in the flowers may alter the scents. Coffee sniffed between scents to clear your nose. Hugs, AEC !!!
I'm weird with scents. Theres only a few I use, one is Arpage, that I've used since I was 16. The other is Chanel no.5. The other I buy from the Chemist and is cheap as chips called Tabu, it has a great musky scent. Oh and in Summer I use 4711, it's such a cooling scent and if I have a headache I put it on my forehead and it's so soothing. And going back to my Hippy roots I use straight Patchouli oil, and no, it's never irritated my skin.

@@mangachanfan1556 Absolutely. We are in terrible need for some soaking rains 🇺🇸❤️🇬🇧
This broadcast is perfection in my mind, the brilliance of River’s wit and insights in CT’s new perfume venture! Excellent !👏👏❤️
I'm resting at home today after a medical procedure. Your video is the perfect tonic today. ❤💐
I absolutely howled with laughter with you saying. "Underwhelmed"😅
You are so funny. What a delightful way to start the day!!!
Loving your Broad cast RIver. Perfumes often smell different on the your skin. My husband used to wear a channel aftershave that smelt like catpiss in the bottle yet when he wore it if smelt gorgeous. Love you xxx
Too funny
Love a nice
aftershave on a man
May the joy of renewal envelope you in May River ❤
Hi River-such a wonderful video!!
I really enjoyed this new topic/video type in the broadcast. Fascinating review of the product and now I’m interested in checking out a couple of the scents myself!
What a fun video! Coincidentally, I've just gotten into perfume videos andvup pops River with a fantastic perfume review!
You are a true treasure dear River! You keep the royal spirit alive in our midst! Lots of love from South Africa!! ❤
Love your descriptions of the different scents.
Plebian American here. I love you and your wit. Ill watch for fun. Have no clue who Charlotte is. Ill stick with my old fashioned Chanel No. 5. Everything else gives me a headache.
Would love to hear more of River's reveries ...how enchanting this video has been ! 🦢
Looking forward to this! Good grief, this is beyond over the top! I can’t stop laughing!
Hello gorgeous River! Gucci Gardinia and Floral are lovely. Diorissimo is a great favourite I started wearing at 16. This was also one of Dianas' favourite perfumes. What a great episode...love the fragrance fest!❤😊
Had an awful, awful day (and week, honestly), and this is such a breath of fresh air. ❤ Love you, River.
Lucy, I’m sorry you’ve had a rough week. Wishing you a wonderful weekend to make up for it. Love from Florida, USA. 🇺🇸❤️🇬🇧
Sorry your week sucked. Hopefully you are getting some return for your effort this week! Take care lovey
Hello, River. Watching your channel from Canada. 🇨🇦
Olibanum is aka Frankincense which I absolutely love. Mix it with rose absolute and heaven is here❤️🩷💜
I have never been notified, not once, and I’ve done everything I can think of to change that situation!!
I’m looking forward to watching/ hearing this broadcast!! How wonderful that you’re branching out. You’ve set yourself quite a challenge here, as describing both colours, smells and tastes are profoundly difficult, especially when each of those things are intrinsically unique to each individual, so I’m fascinated to find out your approach!! I’m sure whatever happens it’ll be entertaining and as I said, interesting to find out your results!!
Sending you huge love, as always…Marilyn 🥰✝️🌟
Love you from Portugal ❤❤❤❤
Can I just say I was followed around Sainsbury by a fellow who eventually, when challenged, wanted the name of my perfume. Body Shop White Musk Oil.
I adored their Mostly Musk scented oil. Heartbroken that it was discontinued 😭 White Musk is lovely though.
A classic! I got their newer "Eau de Musc Blanc", but it isn´t up to par, imo.
Loved that story…😊
I too am a vintage fruit who is hooked on Penhaligans. The Highgrove fragrance is heavenly.
It is. It's gorgeous.
I love y.iur broadcasts. I had a blast when you described the ingredients and said it reminded you of Elnett hairspray. I'm still laughing.
❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the great review of the perfumes. I've never heard such an honest one.
Hello dear River, and assorted fruits!
Love your reviews of each perfume. I could listen to you talk about anything!❤
Really channeling River Blanchett today. Simply gorgeous x
That was a fun video, River. I have been a viewer for years and have yet to be disappointed in any of your broadcasts. I love your sense of humor, your facial expressions, and your creativity.
