Back in the 80's Reggies brittish pub was on the 2nd floor. Good food, great selection of beer, darts during the day, and music at night. Our ship was in "moon engineering ship yard. Many good times take the waterside!
Matthew Bull I was on the USS Raleigh LPD-1 she was Decommissioned early 90's after Desert Storm. We are having a reunion in sept, and I am looking for places to visit. I actually used to check ID's at the door for the pub, and worked in the waterside covering for a friend. Booth on the second floor that sold really nice Oriental things. Thanks for posting!
He mentioned they put in a fudgery because of downtown baltimore not knowing waterside had a fudge making place as well... when waterside used to be waterside.
I like it fewer places but more spread out. Before this there was that escalator and places like "Have a Nice Day" on the second level. Seemed different back then. But it's nice now seems more family friendly. Plus you have the Ferris wheel now. Guy's steakhouse takes up a lot of real estate there is the restaurant then the bar, which isn't inside the restaurant. I just ordered my food out there and sat at the bar and ate Also like that huge LED screen next to the restaurant. Pretty cool that thing must be 200 inches or more.
I really hope it does well. Doesn't look as fun as it was in the 80s. I remember it use to have some cool shops when it first opened. Hope I get to visit it again.
Yes I was not in Norfolk in the 80s I lived in Baltimore and that's basically what they were doing is just copying the Baltimore Inner Harbor but it was nothing like the one in Baltimore at all because Norfolk it's just Norfolk
The Fudgery... like the one in Baltimore? How about The Fudgery... just like the one that used to be in Waterside?? We’ll see how long this new one lasts. Decent upgrades, but pales in comparison to the Waterside of the 80’s.
Ok, so I watched your Antwerp walking tour video and the feeling you get is one of peace the people there are at ease, it is a place that you want to be and it's not some corporate mall, and having lived in Europe I know that there are always people out and about. But Norfolk, it's clear that there is something very very wrong, it's just a mall and it's not a walkable or bikeable city.
We were promised family friendly, this place is loud uncomfortable and only seems interested in selling alcohol. Food choice is terrible and every direction you look you can see at least 3 bars.
It did seem like not a relaxing place to eat especially due to the noise level. I have always went to Town center to eat and find it way way better personally and close to home for me.....maybe try that and if you never went I have a couple posted videos showing it all day and night times...

I was stationed there 99-06 and I remember bar Norfolk and have a nice day, and some sort of dueling piano bar. Looks better now.

Thanks for the video!
Last time I was in downtown Norfolk, just before Labor Day 2016, I couldn’t find a decent crabcake. Kind of ironic.
Why your video on toloka
