  • Irvine Arditti is the founder and first violinist of the legendary Arditti Quartet, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. Irvine Arditti has been a regular performer at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and regards it as the most unique festival world-wide in the platform for new music, thanks to its founder University of Huddersfield Professor Richard Steinitz. At its graduation ceremonies, the University celebrated the work of Arditti by awarding him the title of Honorary Doctorate of the University. Here he talks with international composer and Huddersfield Professor Liza Lim about his work, his successes and about his love for the Contemporary Music Festival in Huddersfield.
