hell yeah we shmokin that indica, playin indika! this game is really amazing, i played thru it last week and i haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. i found the ending really provocative and it left me with a lot of philosophical and religious questions.
"Let's just dive in, I feel, I feel like there's no need for preamble"
....
"The hell is this??"
I'm so INTO this. Absolutely loved that last 30 seconds of the gameplay, I'm so curious now.
18:25 when you win a bet on the Superbowl
My game crashed twice when I had four buckets of water done and I had to start from the very beginning each time.
Started feeling like I was about to lose the plot but it was 100% worth it in the end.
This looks cool, I hadn't heard of it before the podcast so thanks for showing it. Also a Jesse and Jeremy vid is always a great vibe
the person erupting out of the nuns mouth was so cool 3d world coded
What the...I'm sold
This is like if A24 started getting into publishing games, and I'm all here for it.
not gonna lie, the last 5 minutes got me hella interested in the game
The narrator reminds me of the G-man from Half-Life.
I liked the part where over half of the video is just pouring a bucket of water 👌
Oh no I LOVE this
Visual looks cool. I hope there is no Russian state propaganda and narrative about "mysterious russian soul"

Life of the "Inok" is nothing else then
active and relentless penance

Thanks guys for the wonderful "translation". Everything written in cyrillic is about hating capitalism. Duh.
Even if it's in old imperial russian.
P.s. I would understand if the game or one of the themes were about commies or something close to it, but it wasn't. If there's something you don't understand, please don't immediately make stupid jokes about it.
Now I want the 10 hour fat session where these 2 beat the game
I love how much jesse cracks jeremy up haha
this game taking a piss out of Andrey Rublev (and bleak russkies narratives)
Jut finished the game. wow, what a trip! if you want to convince someone that games can be tasteful form of art - this is the one.
Also, try Neyasnoe
It seems intriguing, thanks for the recommendation regarding neyasnoe. I am looking forward to testing it as well as indika

Omg you guys played nun gollum and I'm late to watching it - I'm sorry! I'm on it now.
Do we have a patreon goal to send you guys to undercover nunnery??
I still don’t understand what it’s about..
I'm pretty sure that the voice is literally Satan?
uhhh.. yeah I'm not sure what to make of that. seems a little .. and I'm sorry to use the overused p-word.. pretentious. 😵💫
Not every game has to be a linear explosion fest. Just because it went over your head doesn't make it "pretentious".
"Pretentious" implies that Indika is making "artsy" choices for the sake of being artsy without merit, which I really don't think it is. It has a very clear design intention that it nails, in my opinion. So unless you think challenging experiences of player friction in games are inherently pretentious (in which case you'd be missing out on some of the best games ever made), then this sequence is no more pretentious than a challenging Mario level that you have to redo 12 times. It's just game design, bud. And talking about/analyzing game design is just an expression of love for the craft of game design.
Also totally fine if this game is not your cup of tea! Some of the best things ever made are not for everyone.
@jeremybjayne agreed with everything you said here (and I really appreciate this quick look). also want to add, it's unfair to say that a game being "pretentious" after watching/playing for 20 minutes.
@@spykids2 "Not every game has to be a linear explosion fest." did i actually say that though?
@@jeremybjayne totally fair, but no i don't think challenging experiences of player friction are pretentious, but i do think a little man coming out a nuns mouth and dancing around seemingly out of nowhere is like that kind of "weird for the sake of being weird" kinda thing, which even you guys mention, has that "kojima stank" on it. big reason why i don't get on with Kojima's stuff even though i appreciate what he's going for more often than not. and to be clear, i think the taking the pale of water back and forth 5 times thing is a cool bit of commentary, but i don't know. personally this kind of thing seems self-indulgent for the sake of it, but that's just my opinion. all art is for someone and not for someone else!
