Before I could see this video, I already went for thunder gray and purchased it .. I was considering fashion gray too.. nice video because I had tough time choosing considering so many varieties of grey... I have also purchased cocoa brown because where I live Indians have brown skin.
Amazing tutorial! Thank you so much for another great tutorial! I would be so grateful if you could make a video about other shades of Savage background papers and their applications! Good luck and very much appreciated!
Hello Lindsay i have just started following and too be fair I don't do alot of social media etc ( Little to old ) , but being an ex assistant to Cornel Lucas at Chelsea manor studios i thought i would just say that your videos on Holly wood lighting etc are very close to Cornels ,he passed on a few secrets to me which i hold dear , thank you for your videos and your photographs they are beautiful.
Hello, I am an Arabic photographer and I use the translation feature on RUclips when I watch your videos. Is there a translation feature like this available in your course if I bought it?
Thanks for all the information, but I would like to know the size of the paper used in this video? I think it is the perfect size to place a model without catching edges.
@@lindsayadlerphoto I’ve tried searching up videos and they’ve all said the same thing so I’m going to give that a go. Is there any way to avoid it straight out of camera? I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I shoot with a Sony a7iv, flashpoint 600, and sometime my continuous lights with my flash. The photos come out great but the backdrop comes out terrible at times with the color banding. Thank you
I was about to order a roll of thunder gray and then I watched this video. Is thunder gray on the the cold - neutral - warm side ? Thanks to whoever answer! Thanks Lindsay for the informative videos :)
Don't you see you get a lot of banding in images in the background when working with these and feathering light and any type of curves adjustment in post? I have been finding more of that and it being annoying compared to working with the canvas textured.
That might be a feature of your display rather than the actual image. There's no reason there would be any banding across a gradient especially with raw files. Have you tried looking at the offending areas at 100% in Photoshop?
On my way to buy a grey savage, wasn’t sure which to choose, now I know, thx a million Lindsay!!!!!
As always, you nail your shots. I almost forgot the video is about Savage background papers.
Hope you have a great weekend? If you have time, love to see another Christmas theme video. Take care.
I loved the clarity of your explanation; also, the tip on the Fashion Gray and feathering was priceless! Your so relevant.
excellent work. packed with knowledge in very short time. thank you
Thank you so much!
Just what I need. Thank you! Now, if you can share what you wear on your lips, that'd be great! It looks SO good on you.
I always LOVE THUNDER GRAY. Still watching this.
That shade of grey has always been my fav to for photography and filming
Me too!
Very well spoken. Great presentation. 👏
You are the most Badass Photographer !!!
Aw than you so much!
amazing video i got my grey specially because im able to change the color with gels.
I just got the fashion grey a few days ago …glad I made the right choice …I like the lightness cos of its flexibility to edit in photoshop.
It's definitely a versatile backdrop!
Love the styling of clothes and background. Thanks.
Oooh. Perfect timing! I've been thinking about painting my cabinet shop/studio gray!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I would love a 1 on 1 session on poses and flash 📸
I want a tutorial on how you lit yourself, you look amazing!

no sir, not at this time. Perhaps in the future.

Magníficos tutoriales. Gracias
Thanks so much!
Make sure you have a sturdy background stand pole or the paper will warp over time creating wrinkles and dents.
Thanks for the advice lol
Who is the model?
Amazing posing/emoting.
Thunder gray probably works better if you have less distance to work with?
My model is Renata gubayeva -- any time you want to see credits you can always check my IG thats where they get posted !
How do you avoid color banding on the backdrop?
Try editing in tif 16bit!

I have an question. As savage is pretty expensive, how long do they last.
as long as you keep the paper clean
Would the Savage Thunder grey accept color gels ok? Torn between that and the fashion or stone 😭
it works but id go with the lighter choice. fashion or stone I think are both fine
@@lindsayadlerphoto Great! Thank you.

If you search 'Savage universal swatches" or "chart" it shows you them all side by side!
Why paper over PVC? Whats the benefit?
PVC? I use a lot of different color papers to suit my shoots. Idk what pvc is in the context of backgrounds.
What is the width of this background?
9ft

@@Tom_RUclips_stole_my_handle dude… I’m not new to this . I know what I’m looking at
@@JeffDietzphoto Sorry I tried to help you now mate.
Nope, hardly ever a problem. I edit in 16 bit and id seen the issue maybe only an issue a hand full of times ever.
