One of my all-time favorites! I'm a guy, but I can imagine women being frustrated by a man-controlled world and screaming "what's going on?" The catchy sound, meaningful searching-youth lyrics and AMAZING vocals are AWESOME!!! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 ❤️✌🏻✌🏻❤️
Linda Perry wrote "Beautiful" for Christina Aguilera. 4 Grammy noms and multiple hits songs written/co-written and produced with many artists including Pink
It's so mind blowing to watch younger people find songs that define me (60+ years old). I laugh every time. Do you know MTV voted this one of the worst songs of all time? I love irony.
A song from the 90's that I think is beautiful is from the divinyls it's called 'I touch myself'. Unfortunately the singer passed away not to long ago. It's worth a listen.
Every time i listen to songs from when i was a teenager i feel like all this time didn't go by lol, the power of music, the early 90's was non stop brilliance music wise, i was pretty young still but i remember how amazing it was when great music was mainstream. My generation was spoiled with all of that brilliance in every music genre and we didn't even realize that until recent years.
Here's a tidbit; the singer, Linda Perry, is currently married to Sara Gilbert who plays Darlene on the Roseanne TV show. Love this song. The nineties had some good tunes too, but they're fewer and farther between than previous decades. This song is one of those gems. The problem with the nineties was the lack of diversity among various bands. A whole lot of copy-cat and sameness with nineties music.
I get goosebumps every time I hear this amazing song! Linda’s voice is incredible, I think the first time I ever saw this band was when they were on Top of the Pops here in the UK all those years ago☺️💐
Such an under-appreciated song. Absolutely sums up early 90s music for me (along with Stay by Lisa Loeb). Linda Perry's voice is amazing, and her smile is so infectious.
You have to react to "Stay" by Shakespeare's Sister from 1992, I think. You will be emotionally moved beyond measure. It spent like 8 weeks at number 1. I just watched it for the 100th time and still got tears in my eyes. Please, dude. I love your reactions!
Durring the summer of 1993, I would go down to the beach on 33 rd st in ocean city, Nj and watch the sunrise. During that time this song would come on every morning, when I was on the beach. This song always takes me to that place on the beach and connects me to those feeling of seeing the beauty of the sunrise as the warmth filled my body as I watched the beauty of the beach begin to come alive once again to bring joy to thousands. Sad to say the band broke up after thier first album. The albun is good. Some of it is a littlle heavy at time for others to listen to. The guitar player is very good and he shows it in the songs. "Space man" is another really good song on the album.
I saw 4 Non Blondes perform this song live at the KROQ Acoustic Christmas at the Universal Amphitheater back in 1992 or 1993. They sounded great. We met Richard Blade in the parking lot. He asked the girl I was with if she was an artist performing that night. Love the guy's accent. He was as cool as can be, so easy to talk to. The artists that performed that night: The Cranberries, 4 Non Blondes, Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Wonderstuff, Tony Bennett (Yes, him), Billy Idol, Duran Duran.
I grew up on 90s music and I think it was a great era for music. This is from 93, you looked away when the year popped up on the screen 😉 This song is childhood nostalgia for me. I remember it was on the radio pretty often.
I love when a lead singer is used as another instrument not just for lyrics. You don’t have to understand the words because the music carries you through.
A huge hit when I was in high school lol ahh the 90's. this song was so popular, not only because she had a great voice but i think she was a relief from all the dark grunge that was pervading the airwaves.
I been listening to this song lately and just saw this reaction. Pretty good song that I love. Who is saying that 90s music was horrible. They're out of their little millennium mind
Linda Perry worked with Pink on her second album Missundaztood and wrote Get The Party Started and has a feat. with Pink on the song Lonely Girl. He also worked with Christina Aguilera on his album Stripped and wrote Beautiful.
I don't know any youth from the period when that song was released who doesn't know it by heart. It's one of those songs that's easy to remember and to sing along to after a few listens. Just like Bohemian Rhapsody, the lyrics are still fresh in my memory after all these years.
Linda Perry is a legend that many outside my generation don't know about. She only did the one album with 4 Non Blonds and this was their only big hit. However, there are some really good tracks on it. Dear Mr. President, Superfly, Spaceman, Morphine and Chocolate, Pleasantly Blue among them. She's also written hit songs for major artists like Pink and Christina Aguilera.
Killer song! Here are a few more 1990s songs you might like: "Un-Break My Heart" by Toni Braxton, "Mysterious Ways" by U2, "Gonna Make You Sweat" by C and C Music Factory, and "Freedom 1990" by George Michael.
Keep up the great work, JBLETHAL! Lovin' your channel and, your reaction to the older, and old, but much better music! Keep up the great work! I am a FAN!
Like so many 90s songs, this got me through my days at the office in my early working life. (a lot of clerical/data entry/admin stuff) As far as I was concerned my day was about what was on the radio.
Try having a delve into Simply Red and Mick Hucknall, Holding Back the Years, Stars, Something Got Me Started, Money's Too Tight To Mention, For Your Babies, If You Don't Know Me By Now.
The 4 Non Blondes formed in San Francisco October 1989 on the same day of the San Francisco earthquake. I heard this many years ago by a DJ on a major radio station.
She is actually more accomplished as a songwriter for alot of musicians and it surprised me she chose not to perform them herself with that powerhouse voice.
I've loved this song ever since I heard it in the 90's. Just like you, I listen to everything but I'm older than you & I have a much bigger playlist. Trust us old folks, we won't steer you wrong regarding good music.
I'm not sure who is saying that 90s music was horrible. Some of the 90s pop isn't my favorite, but there was a lot of incredible rock/alternative music that came out of that decade. Even pop- we got some pretty strong showings from. Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and some other pop divas. There is SO much material in the 90s to cover!
I love when you give a little smile when you think you might like a song, then your smile takes off and lights your face up when you know you like it.
One of the great 90s songs here
One of my all-time favorites!
Wow you actually get the meaning of the song
But it's not just women
It's everyone who is the victim of the patriarchal White society
The lead singer Linda Perry is an incredible song writer.
One of the best!
@var1328 she has written and produced songs for many artists. So while this band may have had one hit she has been a part of many
Linda Perry wrote "Beautiful" for Christina Aguilera. 4 Grammy noms and multiple hits songs written/co-written and produced with many artists including Pink
Came to write this. Linda Perry is an amazing pop songwriter! Timeless hooks!
Beautiful It was for her[Perry] and her new album, but Aguilera "take It"
I was about to say pretty much the same thing.
She has also done multiple collaborations with Dolly Parton. Talented woman!
I LOVE this song - always have. I wish they had made more albums
I envy you hearing all these bangers for the first time
Facts if I could forget about songs like these and hear them for the first time all over again I’d be so damn happy
It's so mind blowing to watch younger people find songs that define me (60+ years old). I laugh every time.
Do you know MTV voted this one of the worst songs of all time? I love irony.
thats if you believe MTV knows anything about music. You know what I mean?!
@@robertakline9785 What music? 🤣 know what I mean 🤣
A song from the 90's that I think is beautiful is from the divinyls it's called 'I touch myself'. Unfortunately the singer passed away not to long ago. It's worth a listen.
I agree! Chrissy was iconic. 'Pleasure and Pain' is great too.
Pleasure and pain imo is so much better then i touch myself
I'm 50 years old and I love this song so much! It was great to see you react to this song the way I feel it too.
Every time i listen to songs from when i was a teenager i feel like all this time didn't go by lol, the power of music, the early 90's was non stop brilliance music wise, i was pretty young still but i remember how amazing it was when great music was mainstream. I feel the same!
The music nowadays REALLY makes me appreciate this song...
Great choice!! My sister and I used to cruise the back roads of our rural small town singing this at the Top. Of. Our. Lungs.
I feel like every girl in my college art class was her.
And they were all awesome.
One of the great songs of the decade! Great post!
Brother, you got this one life. Once a moment is gone, it’s gone.
I love this song and have heard it thousands of times. But still get the chills when i hear it.

I get goosebumps every time I hear this amazing song! Linda’s voice is incredible, I think the first time I ever saw this band was when they were on Top of the Pops here in the UK all those years ago☺️💐
Linda Perry, the singer, went on to be a VERY successful song writer for many, many artists, Pink just to name one. She's magical.
Nice reaction! a 90s gem. There are some good 90s tunes. Please do Goo Goo Dolls- Iris , you will love it!
This entire album to so good! Thanks for playing this song.
Such an under-appreciated song. Absolutely sums up early 90s music for me (along with Stay by Lisa Loeb). Linda Perry's voice is amazing, and her smile is so infectious.
It awesome to see a young man listening to music from the past and I enjoy watching you enjoying different types of music
You have to react to "Stay" by Shakespeare's Sister from 1992, I think. You will be emotionally moved beyond measure. It spent like 8 weeks at number 1. I just watched it for the 100th time and still got tears in my eyes. Please, dude. I love your reactions!
Also stay by lisa loeb moving in a different way
Or Annie Lennox,Love song for a vampire from the 90s Dracula film
I remember this blasting out of open car windows when it came out. Spaceman is an equally awesome FNB song.
Something about this song just makes me happy.
The music and her gorgeous face always kept me interested! Oh, and her voice!
90's is epic !i remember this song at a party.everyone was singing it.
Love love love this! I was in my 20s/30s in the 90s. This song brings back so many memories!
Love these ladies. I have only heard a few of their songs but I am a big fan.

Such great memories as a young girl belting this out.
That's why the 90s were the last great era of music!!! PERIOD
@Hillary's emails to Lorne System of a down was great too but. They r no more
this is one of the few songs of this new music that I truly love. They have that soul you don't usually get now.
One hit wonders. What an amazing hit. Linda Perry’s vocal magic integrates perfect with the melody the 3 very lucky non blondes layed down.
Great song - I was teaching in country South Australia in 1993, and this was one of my theme songs!!
One of my favorite songs ever. I always cry when I hear it.❤️
As a GenXer who loved 80's songs -- I just as equally loved songs from the 90's!
Perry is simply amazing. I have seen her play live and she is so talented.
I'm glad this was on your list. Great song, well performed.

''4 Non Blondes'' is such a cool band name

Love this song. Great reaction as always.
This is my go to song when I get all up in my head🤗
Great 90s song!! Such a variety of styles and sounds then!
A huge hit when I was in high school lol ahh the 90's. this song was so popular, not only because she had a great voice but i think she was a relief from all the dark grunge that was pervading the airwaves.
She did an insanely good collaboration with Grace Slick, I think it was called Knock Me Out
Some of the best music came from the 90's, born in 1980 here.
I been listening to this song lately and just saw this reaction. Pretty good song that I love. Who is saying that 90s music was horrible. They're out of their little millennium mind
This is a song that became a classic the moment it was recorded. In the future, try Hunger Strike:"Going Hungry"
Linda Perry worked with Pink on her second album Missundaztood and wrote Get The Party Started and has a feat. with Pink on the song Lonely Girl. He also worked with Christina Aguilera on his album Stripped and wrote Beautiful.
This group was all over alternative radio. It was a big song. Perry is an epic songwriter.
I don't know any youth from the period when that song was released who doesn't know it by heart. It's one of those songs that's easy to remember and to sing along to after a few listens. Just like Bohemian Rhapsody, the lyrics are still fresh in my memory after all these years.
Hey , Iwill never recommend a bad song for you to react to . I did ask you to react to this song a while back , thanks for getting to it

That voice, though! AWESOME!
Female artist with vocals/emotion -- Melissa Ethridge "I'm The Only One" ... you will not be disappointed
Every decade has good music. One just has to find it. I'm old so this is just from my experience.
Keep up the great work, JBLETHAL!

I miss the whole era of music! It was by far the best. So many great songs, straight across every genre. came out. It was a great time for music!
Come for this song's amazing vibe, stay for Linda Perry's Vocal Gymnastics.

The 90’s were fantastic
I watch a lot of reaction channels. This is a good one.
Like so many 90s songs, this got me through my days at the office in my early working life. (a lot of clerical/data entry/admin stuff)
As far as I was concerned my day was about what was on the radio.
You're absolutely right that this is a masterpiece. And every generation of music has some really good music in it, masterpieces a la this song.
Try having a delve into Simply Red and Mick Hucknall, Holding Back the Years, Stars, Something Got Me Started, Money's Too Tight To Mention, For Your Babies, If You Don't Know Me By Now.
This song and the kids in the hall! Thank you 90's!

When this song comes on, I become a rockstar! Car, kitchen, shower... doesn't matter! I don't just sing along - I perform! 😁😁😁
Love you and your channel, my friend! RUclips needs to keep you on! (I thought this song was called “What’s Goin’ On”....ha)
Did you ever see Outkast Hey Ya! A great 90's group and song.
Hey Ya is early 2000s.
@@thehoogard Oops sorry; great video though.
The 4 Non Blondes formed in San Francisco October 1989 on the same day of the San Francisco earthquake. I heard this many years ago by a DJ on a major radio station.

I REALLY dig your videos, man. You have great perspective and respect for good music, whatever the genre, or era!
She is actually more accomplished as a songwriter for alot of musicians and it surprised me she chose not to perform them herself with that powerhouse voice.
Fabulous song. So glad to watch your reaction, JB! Love from Chicago 🥰
I've loved this song ever since I heard it in the 90's. Just like you, I listen to everything but I'm older than you & I have a much bigger playlist. Trust us old folks, we won't steer you wrong regarding good music.

Yesssssss! 🤗 This was a NYC Club staple! Got the girls & guys singing along! 🐰#ENRGYZRBunny
The lead vocals and instrumentation here is all-time great.
"Joey" by Concrete Blonde is a very good one.
I'm not sure who is saying that 90s music was horrible. Some of the 90s pop isn't my favorite, but there was a lot of incredible rock/alternative music that came out of that decade. I love your reactions, and I also love the fact that you don't have an annoying 30-second intro to listen to (or skip).
A one-hit wonder from the early 90s. Also used to great effect in the show Sense8.
