Facts. I LOVE the amber in my E61 530d. I dont know why, but it makes it sooo unique. Everybody else just have red or white, thats boring. The amber color is also perfect for long night drives, it doesnt make you tired at all...

I really like analogous speedometers, I prefer them over the digital ones. Doesn’t matter what car or brand. Sure they look awesome but there’s something about the analogous ones that the digital ones can’t replicate.
@@ventilate4267 I learned to drive in a car that had both analog and digital speed indicators (2017~ Citroen c3), I only used the digital one, my first car was a 2008 Citroen c4 that had a digital centered cluster and it was easier to read because the font size of the numbers was big, I'm now switching to a BMW E90 and I'm struggling to read the analog gauge.
Analog cluster all the way. I've had too many friends have their digital cluster turn off. No idea the speed, gas or anything until it gets fixed. And on the newer cars, you have to get the computer reset when the cluster is replaced. (so an additional $500+)
Dude the advice on 2:26 about disconnecting the battery seems wrong, you want to leave the ground so that there’s no current, by leaving the positive wire you basically let the current flow with no ground and that’s exactly how you short something.

When I was still in uni I had a side hustle of buying cars and doing basic repairs and selling. I used to get teased by my buddy who’d do it because I would keep track of every penny (he didn’t have any expenses at home) so I knew exactly what I was making, including the time I worked. I really appreciate your flip videos and the more flip videos I see id love it. I rewatch your flip videos multiple times a week. I’m a big fan bro hope to see more of those. ps- I live in the rust belt - it’s dope seeing these cars you get with mechanical issues but the cleanest bodies. You bring cars back to life that most people would give up on.
That colour was specifically used so your eyes don’t have to adjust when looking at it then outside. Most colours require your eyes to adjust but BMW figured out that colour requires no change on the eyes

Once you change the gauge, What happens to the Odometer? Did it reset to 0? or the previous odometer reading automatically transfers to the new gauge? Thanks!
Ecu tells it the correct miles. Older model cars like pre 1999 have the miles stored in the cluster but all moderns cars have the miles or km stored in the ECU

Who know what will happen if you re-install the old cluster. Anyhow it looks cool, if you are not planning to sell the car what the hell! I like it.
Wow. This is a dream. As my e91 looks pretty modern anyway this would fit absolutely great. For an e46 it would maybe not fit that well. But 1000$ is a whole lot of money..
Wish I could afford this, but it would end up being worth more than the car (2010 E84)! £794 for the standard package (+VAT) - don't think I'll get that past my other half, she may object a bit....skins look great but £54 for each pack is a lot! Full premium pack (£1267 +VAT +Import charges) would probably be the best value for money in my book :-)
You should check if you can now reset the oil service reminder and all of the reminders from check control because when you replace an OEM Instrument Cluster in the E60/E70 and don't code the VIN in it,you cannot reset those anymore and the odometer goes back to the initial reading when you unnplug the battery.

Have you figured out how to reset the service required light? It’s done by pressing the odometer button on the oem cluster but the ID4 doesn’t have that. I have the ID4 installed in my X6 btw
To each their own guys. I like the moderns digital look and some people lien the old analog look. I got a 11 inch touch screen in my 08 3 series. It's all about what u like
For $1700+ they better not cheap out on anything. Mine just came in for my 07 e90, have you had any issues with the new cluster as far as being able to see when services are due and reseting them once done?

oil temperature can be done on the original e9x cluster (replacing the mpg-o-meter)... coolant temp though I would consider doing it for that too!

The Vin is coded in that cluster because you have to provide the VIN before the purchase. Check theirs website.
