I know Joseph keeps opening pure gas, but I appreciate how he's really technically-minded and wants to talk about strategy/lines after the game. Hearing someone in this series say "yeah if you made this guy/negated this effect, I was cooked" instead of bragging/downplaying is refreshing, because it touches on a higher appeal of YGO: looking at both hands and figuring out who's in a better position. Mutual puzzle solving. EDIT: and stuff like telling Gage the right hit on Dragged Down to the Grave. It just makes for better content when both decks are playing "properly", and know what the important cards are.

I’ve done that (I once lost a sealed tournament by misreading literally every Gagaga effect in my deck), MBT has done that tons of times, Farfa does it a ton of times, and Gage does it all the time, albeit probably the least because he spends a long time thinking of lines. Doug said it before, but you’re not gonna read all your cards over and over again if you think you know what they do, but if you’re not comfortable with cards, you aren’t going to know your lines until after you do the wrong one. Ritual Beast humbled me a lot in this regard. I thought i was good until I spend 30 seconds thinking, then immediately go “wait”. It also wasn’t MBT’s justification for Doug’s deck building and pack choices at all. It was in direct callout to people saying Doug misplays in Roulette and Saga. It was a direct response to people clowning on Doug for not knowing what his cards do. I also feel personally while Doug could take more time thinking out lines, he has the experience and skill as a player to do so, he doesn’t because he doesn’t want to waste people’s time on his mostly casual series.

I feel like in the past 12 months, Konami has massively increased the likelihood of URs and SRs being outside of the pack. I feel like its about 80-20 odds now, it's so grim.
In his defense, his Springans pulls from that pack were looking better so it made sense to pivot to a pack that focused more on that. The result was sick
Tri-Brigade is a bit questionable without a craft. Without Shureig, the deck has no real payoff, while Spriggans, he already pulled Exblowrer and sorta has a OPT pop with Sargas. If his ED had better link monsters, I think there’s an argument for Tri Brigade, but he really doesn’t.
Thank god there’s only 2 more episodes under this banlist because if there were 4 total episodes of legal decisive battle that shit would be unwatchable
