@@TheRobochicken5494 Ranged classes in any game since beggining of time are a beta move. But in this game where combat is especially challenging its even more beta to stand in africa and shoot bolts.

mounted combat makes most of the dragon fights trivial. With exception of the red thunder dragon.
If it werent for mounted combat and magic to cheese every single boss, most of these bumfucks wouldn't make it to half the game anyway.

It's honestly enjoyable to see Sodapoppin become so good at the game lol. Spells or not, his decision making is actually a lot better than many other streamers.
I was actually thinking this. A lot of people in chat that don't play the game were saying he's cheesing but he's actually playing the game way better than most streamers, the way he tests his damage on bosses to decide if he can take them, and his roll timing. He's actually pretty good it's nice to see.
Oh yes, put the jelly, shoot from africa and oneshot with melee when oom. So skillful, much wow.
@@pmudri lol jelly aside, you do realise that close combat isn't nearly as hard as you claim it to be right? Jump and charged attacks are still extremely overpowered. The amount of stagger makes many bosses trivial to say the least.
It's just that the magic is unbalanced and way too op from early to endgame and nobody knows if it's gonna get a nerf or not

The last dragon is a joke with a Str or dex build on a horse. But it is the complete counter to how he fights bosses.
Not to mention this particular dragon is resistant to magic.

The Ancestor Spirit is one of my personal favorites. I think it's one of the bosses that's not connected to the Erdtree.
That fight against the magic dragon was stressful.
i beat him with Torrent XD
Especially when the person fighting him is being a pepega and trying to use spells and magic weapons XD.
I ended up using a +6 torch for damage while just riding figure 8s on torrent.
Because that was more damage than the +9 or +12 (can’t remember which) swords I had since they where all either default int scaling or had weapon arts to make them magic.
Still only took 3 attempts (first 2 where just to attacks i hadn’t seen from a dragon)
Rock sling made short work of this guy for me
The dragons are actually really easy if you just ride around on your horse.

When i played melee, this dragon was a piece of cake. My mage playthrough however, was a different story

Idk why I'm surprised but soda is actually pretty good at souls, it's not hard to watch like most streamers doing 15 rolls in a row away from a boss every time they swing, he actually times his rolls and does it into the boss to counter.
by keeping the blessing of baldachin in your inventory, you'll have a -5% max health debuff.

about the dragon....although I was pretty overleveled for that area (150) I didnt have an easy time so I just got on the horse and killed him from the distance with my bow haha

advice for elden ring, dont quit just bc the boss is too hard. unlike DS, ER is open world it doesnt restrict you where to go. so can simply underleveled. also dont play like streamers, they play not to enjoy the game, they play to entertain.
Idk how anyone would quit, I understand quitting the first DS because it's really jank compared to newer games, but DS3 and onward feel pretty fluid.

That happens really easily in elden ring since its not linear. i also went to an area with a higher level requirement first and facerolled through the same region chance was in this video

how the fuck are people not leveling vigor like at all, i just dont get it, makes everything impossible to first try since you die to literally any attack in 1 hit, getting vigor to 30-40 is top priority after meeting weapon requirements

id say magic has an easier learning curve and is better against more bosses but melee definitely excels at other things. soda is also a good gamer.
Soda is a great gamer. But magic is also easy mode yes.
It’s like in DS3 pyromancer made the game a joke, especially once you got Chaos Bed Vestiges.
In all the souls games going caster is easy mode with the exception of pure faith, funny enough pure faith was just as broken as other casters in DS2 and then they nurfed it into the ground.
Pretty sure in every Souls game Magic was OP
It has its advantages for being ranged but there some bosses that punish you for playing at range so you'll still have to learn how to play upclose

Like most people I come across have shit hp like this and I just don't get it.
Magic forces you into investing in int and mind quite heavily.
I really hate how you can be out in the open somewhere, trying to fight some massive fuck on a horse...and the game just doesnt let you use summons.
Like why can I use summons against Margit on a fairly small path, yet cant use summons to fight the spider thing in the castle....but can use summons to fight things in the castle courtyard?
Where you can/cant use summons makes no fuckin sense.
they give you the summon in boss arenas and exremely difficult ares same with stakes of marika. However the devs have a weird perception of which are is hard, Like some ares can screw you over and you need to run through a bullet hell just to et sour runes meanwhile gatefront, which only has a few soldiers and one knight of godrick, has two sites of a grace AND a staute of marika. Oh and you can summon there too
this is dark soul right? They just rebranded the name.

I mean, im a primarily melee player, but whenever i do a mage playthrough, it is fun. Blasting enemies in the face with magic is pretty fun, especially in elden ring where there is different types of magic.

i mean i can see why he would be annoyed with people telling him to play other builds, but if he's pretending that sorcery doesn't make the game x100 easier then he's got me fucked up.
thats a funny meme. strength build is the easiest you can play with... magic isnt because youre weaker and casting time for spells is longer than a melee swing. Also as caster you have to use more than just the heal pot (so more micro). :P
Magic only makes cheesing easier since you can kill stuff from range but bosses like Godrick and Margit are easier as melee since you can avoid their attacks closeup and attack faster. + strength builds can wear more armor and allocate more heals.
Compare asmon and soda playing, asmon had really no trouble with bosses while soda was stuck on some.... the difference between strenght build and magic is evident. :D
And its a cringe if people take the meme seriously... magic isnt easier, just try it!
@@Otakahunt it literally is tho, in pve it makes the game a joke because you can summon something to tank damage while you shoot him. In pvp it sucks because people aren't stupid and don't just stand there taking hits.
@@GoldenMaskedChad i am not sure if you tried summons but one spell makes boss focus you for few attacks and unless you wanna spend 15-20 min on every boss you can't do that. Also it counts with perfect rolls because bosses oneshots you. Str vs int/faith have problem with different bosses but overall spell build isnt easier.
@@robinpodzemny9821 if you use a summon that’s on its ass constantly that shouldn’t be a problem. Also wouldn’t it take longer to beat the boss without the summon because its agroded on you 24/7? Melee builds have to get up close to even damage the boss thus increasing the likelihood of getting hit. But I agree that strength builds are easy in pve.
@@GoldenMaskedChad i would say the difference is punishment for mistake. Melee heals and goes again. Caster has to start over. I am lil crazy and didnt put single point into hp even after 70 hours and 4/5 game done. Using lvled up elite knight summon if needed. He is really beefy but most bosses just dont mind him if i use spells. So i just roll and learn exact timing on every move. for me it feels to play nohit preety much. Only cheese is first attack dont do dmg thanks to flask.

Phasing through from touched attacks and could be missing on the beasts yourself and dying too often with the monster's strategy and style in method of attack. I know how the game works, but I hate how the game should be different as diverse than being an elder scroll type game with an upgrade version years later. Games like these have issues and problems unconcluded within. Just watch what the beast's abilities by avoiding all and then use spells or bows to reach the end of the game like these. There is no real improvement to work on, it's like a hobby but much easier, so need to be radical, just be peaceful with virtual games.
