I'm all about having a second layer on over a tank or t-shirt. Our summer mornings are cold, and it's a good defense against the mosquitoes if we eat dinner outside. I liked you stating your reasons for avoiding certain items, like basic t-shirts. Please do more thrifting videos. No shame in stating you got it at Goodwill!
I love thrifting! I recently bought four dresses (two still had the tags on), two pairs of shorts and three tops for $70! I once found a Kate Spade dress with the tag on ($365) and paid $20!! The cutest dress!
Love the Buffalo by David Bitton jean jacket, great find at a great price. I see a lot of Target brand basics overpriced at ThredUp (online thrift) too. But sometimes it's a good way to get another shirt in an unusual color like burgundy that they don't sell every year. Or an Old Navy whimsical print tee that you missed the first time around. My friends & I love to brag about our thrift scores.
At our Goodwill they have a lot of overpriced Target items too. I am always leery of those! Haha I find myself bragging too 😄 I just feel like thrifting has changed since we were young and you can find so many nice items there!
A fellow camper! YAY! Enjoy your trip! Where are you going? The jean jacket looks GREAT on you, love it. Nobody ever asks me where I got my clothes, so I don't have an answer for you there lol.
Haha yeah I guess I don't know if people really ask where I got things, but maybe just say "I like your shirt" or something! We love camping! We are going out to Wyoming 😊
Hi! I will be like you “ I got it at Express “ 😉 plus who cares where I got it from 💁🏻♀️. I will love if you do more thrift shopping videos. Thanks for sharing😊❤
Love your videos and love advocating for more eco friendly ways to shop. Goodwill through is a corporation that doesn't really help people. I would try to find a local charity thrift shop or research what the shop is supporting. In Los Angeles, I shop at the mission thrift stores. Or I like Poshmark or Ebay buying directly from a person. I think Thredup is ok with their ethics, but don't give much back to the person who sent their clothes in and mark things way up sometimes. I will proudly tell someone I got something second hand or off Poshmark, Thredup, etc. So usually when asked where I got something I just say second hand or I thrifted it.
I get your point about Goodwill, and I know there are some issues there. However, they do serve as an intermediary helping to move things from people who don't want them to people who do. Whether or not they earn money at it doesn't really matter to me. Ebay earns money from that, Poshmark does, Thredup does. I'm glad to donate to Goodwill if the things I donate can be purchased by people who actually want them. There aren't other types of charity shops near me, so Goodwill is it.
I just feel goodwill has gotten too high on prices. The focus should be giving the customer a break and keeping things out of the landfill. Our small town has a thrift shop that has most garments at $2, a reasonable price. However twice a month there is a day when you can fill a small shopping bag for 2 bucks. That is a nice day....many grandmothers there who are clothing their grandkids for something like .25 per item. Very heartwarming.

I think the Buffalo brand is sold at Costco. I have this jacket in white and it is super soft.
Oh I didn’t know that! Costco has everything!
