  • "After 20 years you analyze a lot. You remember people, heroism. The miracle of the Andes, that's what they called it. Many people come up to me and say that, had they been there they surely would have died. But it makes no sense, 'cause until you're in a situation like that... you have no idea how you'll behave. To be fronted by solitude without decadence, or a single material thing to prostitute, it elevates you to a spiritual plane, where I felt the presence of god... Now there's the god they taught me about in school... And there is the god that's hidden. By what surrounds us in this civilization... That's the god I met on the mountain".

      But why does absolutely horrible things need to happen in order to communicate with God? Why can't He just come down here and speak plainly instead of hiding himself behind us?

    • @patrikpass2962
      @patrikpass2962 3 года назад

      @@vitalityfox Because God is not a person... God is simply a word of the things we can't explain. If we meet God when we die we will ask him questions like: Why are the leaves green? And God would answer: Because of the chlorofyl. And we would say: Oh.

      @patrikpass2962 also that's bull shit. Why does it say that God made us in his image and why does it say God sent down his only son so we could crucify him? The more i read the Bible the less I believe and the less I give a shit.

    When he speaks of God, he is speaking of the one true God. And what he says isn't unbiblical either, we are distracted by the things of the world. We put God on the back burner as we let other vanities take His place. There's no relationship unless He is made first in our lives.

    • @vitalityfox
      @vitalityfox 10 месяцев назад

      How do you have a relationship with something that is silent and invisible? It doesn't make any sense.

    • @g-ville7012
      @g-ville7012 10 месяцев назад

      @@vitalityfox Well if your a Christian like myself we do acknowledge that actually seeing God visibly is not the norm. Even in Old Testament Scripture it was a rarity, Moses was in the presence of the Lord though his glory was so bright that it's radiance concealed Him. Romans 1:20 speaks of God's fingerprints all about us "For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse."
      Now concerning a relationship, this is something Christ taught us. He invites all who "labor and heavy laden and I shall give you rest" and "I am the resurrection and the life...he that liveth and believeth in me shall never die." We can't put God in a laboratory or in a test tube but early Epistles in the NT would often encourage the audience to "continue in faith with a good conscience ". Our conscience can dictate where we are in our morality which isn't mutually exclusive from our relationship with God. I'm not a theologian but every time I don't prioritize reading the Bible or praying or most importantly practicing the Christian lifestyle I see a downhill trend in my overall quality of life. My relationship with others fractures, how I spend my free time, the language I use, what I watch on TV, how I treat people, etc. It's all connected to faith in Christ, it's then that I understand He is a great reality.
