I loved this collection, I thought the bags with the shoes on them were so cool and I want all of them! I love how Raf didn't throw over the top evening gown at you and gave us beautiful sleek printed dresses. Love. My personal favorite looks, the suit on Kinga at 1:44, red coat at 2:36, knit piece at 4:23, white shoe dress at 6:32.
I completely agree. I was just stooping down to their level, trolling on the trolls who obviously loooove to hate for no apparent reason. Raf Simons is a genius and the show was breathtakingly beautiful.
Perfection!!! Raf Simons' view is pure sofistication and rock & roll. Loved the knitted details in the last dresses, and that earring... was pure rock!!! Great Dior collection. Never disappointing. Love Galliano, but I applaude Raf Simons' work.
It is a prêt-à-porter show, literally meaning something ready to wear in the everyday. I personally think Raff pulled this off perfectly. I'm excited to see what he might come up with for the couture F/W collection.
most people who were displeased with him taking the position at Dior were just the vocal minority who's mad that Galliano left, to this day. if you compare this runway alone to Galliano's last seasons for Dior HC, the shapes, the texture play and the volumes are way more mastered... which is a bit ironic given what Galliano's production looks like in general but oh well, tumblr twinks gonna hate
Whats the narration throughout? is it all Laurie? its amazing. i love love love this show!! collection, set music is all perfect Raf at Dior is a new Dior
i think that is amazing how he made the couture more wearable, if you think about it women spend thousands of dollars in a dress so they should be able to dress it more than once, not just for a day and forget they have it. its practicly (?) a sin to show only once such perfect made pieces.
i think raf's inspiration for this collection is all about amelia earheart flying cross the pacific while thinking of a "NEW HAIRCUT" reaching the howland island and lost forever.. i just wonder how her haircut will be?
I like how we all think we are fashion writers and editors. As if we could even afford anything on these runways and still have time to troll the internet. LOL
about the red gown: it might be in Christian's archives and both of the designers interprered the original differently mentally sick prints are the influence of Salvador Dali and surrealism, nightgowns are soon to be trending dresses from late 90s/early 2000s everybody is a fashion critics nowadays, please leave your comments to tumblr then if you can't form a proper opinion and explain why you think it's "boring, flat, and plagiat"
John Galliano is a master of haute couture, his talent for design such clothes is incredible and one must recognize that. Having said that, his ready to wear collections weren't bringing big bucks to LVMH. You have to understand that fashion is a multi-billion $ industry and you have to bring the big bucks. I also think that Galliano has his own fashion brand nowadays so he'd be happier doing fashion on his own.
I agree with you ! Raf is just changing colors and a few shapes. You can see some Dior's codes but that's it. If He were a "super-designer" as everybody says to you He could re-design a whole collection
he still has a lot of respect, but he's got attitude too! as far as the rumours go, he said he doesn't want to be back to Dior or to do anything with LVMH and he's right! I hope he starts his own brand and again, that's what people are keep saying
Galliano moving forward? Raf going back?... You should think a little bit more before taping on the keyboard. Raf is considered a watershed in fashion history, we are talking about the heir of the legacy from masters like Margiela, Van Noten, Yamamoto, Kawakubo, Lang, Sander... Galliano, well...he was a dressmaker with a huge heritage in his hands & what did he do?... pretty dresses. Just that.
I love Galliano, but there is nothing that can be done now, because he doesn't even want to come back himself his designes were always a loss in terms of money for the LVMH, it was stated in the resent trial and was substracted as a percentage from his salary, I believe.
I agree with some of your argument, but I am pro-Galliano on this. I disagree with Raf Simmons bringing wearable items to Dior. Huge fashion house designers don't make clothing to send out in masses for consumers to buy, they create a vision which influences fashion as a whole, and bases trends off of their creations. To wear one of these looks on the street, one would have to probably pay tens of thousands, unreasonable. Galliano created a vision that fashion as a whole followed and trended.
its a lot of improvement compare to his s/s collections. i just hope the venue is as much as interesting as the clothes but it ends up being safe again.. i hope one day people who think that galliano is already irrelevant, might look back on what he have done on dior and please admit that during his time, we've all been excited to see his flambouyant collections. one day he might regain the respect of the fashion industry. i hope he doesn't end up like michael jackson. i love galliano!
Respectfully, I disagree. I love that Dior has a mix of the incredible couture pieces and things with more wearability, which I find very beautiful as well. I cannot say I'm a fan of the terse dialogue in the background, though. I would rather focus on the clothes than the conversation, which is distracting.
The only difference is when it's designed by John Galliano I feel that I can't jump a second from the video, and when it's designed by Raf Simons I feel like I can't watch more the 2 minutes of the video....Anyways he left Dior and I'm happy for that..
I actually think that Raf is missing out working for Dior... He is such a great and unique talent, who went very political and environmental back in early 2000s, he actually made fashion less shallow and brought back appetite for minimalism. He got enough experience at Jil Sander to start his own women line, and go beyond commercial products. Plus, if you look at Christian Dior himself, he was one of the most (if not the most) conservative (and repetative) designers. Raf, GTFO from LVMH :)
I think Raf has taken Dior a step backwards. I agree that Raf is paying homage to how Dior's dresses were once constructed, but at the same time Galliano has also evolved Dior to a great success, staging show after show of pure fantasies. I wish that Raf paid Galliano some respect as well instead of making the same outfits over and over. This collection looked no different from the last, and I'm sure the next collection would be too. I'm sorry, for this I have officially lost my love for Dior...
well you don't buy books to make them dust on the shelves, right? :) fashion is not only about being able to afford something, it's just the most accessible form of art
its way too arty for me as consumer! And as it happens i dunno any context which lies beneath staging or prints on dressess or soundtrack. i'm sorry but the show its self does not sell to me and make my feel dumb which;s last feeling i wish to have while browsing for new clothes!
Dior 2013 : fabric and stitching//Model report : No Expression, No Emotional, Not Inspired//Note: Backstage is still full of underage teenager smoking and eating vegetable sandwich with no Emotion what so ever.
For those of you bragging about John Galiano..as Heidi Klum says: in fashion, when day you're in, the next day you're out...unless your name is Karl Lagerfeld.
This "collection" has nothing to do with Fall/Winter. I mean, what kind of woman in the world would wear strapless pieces made with a light chiffon with 40°F ??? Anyway, it looks really cheap, like a bad version of Carolina Herrera SS13. Raf can express Dior's shapes, but NOT the Dior's spirit ;)
Comparing Raf with John is simply wrong and misses the point. I think Raf is as brilliant as John , but in a different way. Raf has a clarity and simplicity that is sublime. Moreover , he like Karl at Chanel, wants to stay within the design concepts of their respective creator's. John is truly a visionary, seeking to totally deconstruct all accepted fashion paradigms
Don't tell me this is the original sound track of the show! Who wants to try to understand what the narrators are talking about while trying to look at the cloths at the same time. The two don't match together at all! And the designs are really mediocre and lacks elegance and sophistication compared to what has been done by John Galliano for the house! By far the worst Dior show I've ever watched.
mind to elaborate on why this is bland? The shapes, the juxtaposition of the houndstooth, some of the classic dior looks with new textures and fabrics, I think it's really timeless. And so much more interesting than Mary's sheer dresses with panty hoes and a belt.
I cannot stop listening to this soundtrack. It's so perfectly executed.
This is so dreamy, so clever and so elegant. I miss Raf Simons era so much.
Thank you so much for uploading that, pure beauty and the soundtrack adds to it immensely.
the cut, the silhouette and the detailing was very refreshing for dior... very chic!
I like the collection. simple, elegant and beautiful
I loved this collection, I thought the bags with the shoes on them were so cool and I want all of them! I love how Raf didn't throw over the top evening gown at you and gave us beautiful sleek printed dresses. Love. My personal favorite looks, the suit on Kinga at 1:44, red coat at 2:36, knit piece at 4:23, white shoe dress at 6:32.
excellent collection
I love the whole pink/black theme. Love that combo.
glorious.
fabulous design
and to all who think it's boring: it is a fashion show, not circus! the main point is presentation, not envertainment!
Dior + Raf Simons + Laurie Anderson + Andy Warhol = Perfection
I completely agree. I was just stooping down to their level, trolling on the trolls who obviously loooove to hate for no apparent reason. Raf Simons is a genius and the show was breathtakingly beautiful.
The dresses are sooo spring summer !!!
I know Raff understand completely about the style of Dior. But I really like the interpretation of Dior that Galliano had
chic perfection!
Perfection!!! Raf Simons' view is pure sofistication and rock & roll. Loved the knitted details in the last dresses, and that earring... was pure rock!!! Great Dior collection. Never disappointing. Love Galliano, but I applaude Raf Simons' work.
All unique and elegant...and look very comfortable as well as easy to put on and take off..practical and Elegant.
I like how he combines the old Dior aesthetic and the thetric of Galliono (backdrop). :)
i personally thought the soundtrack was great, it really gets you into a state with this collection, and its surreal. its great.
Anyone who thinks Raf "isn't Dior", obviously knows nothing about the history of Dior.
Gorgeous show, lovely silhouettes that were expertly tailored.
exquisite
I agree with you !!
It is a prêt-à-porter show, literally meaning something ready to wear in the everyday. I personally think Raff pulled this off perfectly. I'm excited to see what he might come up with for the couture F/W collection.
Agree 100%
Amo esta pasarela 😙❤
just enjoy the joys of fashion.
It's a shame he left Dior, his work for the house was unbelievable I really preffer him than Galliano
He couldn't handle all these collections, Dior has like 6 different collections a year. It's too much.
most people who were displeased with him taking the position at Dior were just the vocal minority who's mad that Galliano left, to this day. if you compare this runway alone to Galliano's last seasons for Dior HC, the shapes, the texture play and the volumes are way more mastered... which is a bit ironic given what Galliano's production looks like in general but oh well, tumblr twinks gonna hate
when galliano left he took the drama with him :'( so long dior
The soundtrack is so distracting but I love love the coats and the bias-cut dresses!
Whats the narration throughout? is it all Laurie? its amazing. i love love love this show!! collection, set music is all perfect

he's in Arizona with me, having shots on the daily broseph. DEAL WITH IT

first song is ?
what's the one at 2:53?
U look at this, and you look at what Maria grazia does, and it’s obvious who is designing for women and who isn’t .
Viva Dior!... And Raf Simons!
Fashion show and vet visit at the same time ..crazy people
I agree with you ! Raf is just changing colors and a few shapes. You can see some Dior's codes but that's it. If He were a "super-designer" as everybody says to you He could re-design a whole collection

i wants Galliano come back Now!!!
love it! love the sound track..my dog is fat..bet anna loved it too!
raf x dior genius
If this is winter, all I have to say is burrrrrrr!
Diana Moldovan embodies the perfect Dior woman
I do agree that Galliano did amazing things for Dior, though.
I love Galliano, but there is nothing that can be done now, because he doesn't even want to come back himself

Who's talking at the begging? Charlotte Rampling?
Laurie Anderson... bit late hahaha
Diana Moldovan!
Please John come back

WTF did someone go to sleep and dream of 1950s antiseptic at Dior?
The only difference is when it's designed by John Galliano I feel that I can't jump a second from the video, and when it's designed by Raf Simons I feel like I can't watch more the 2 minutes of the video....Anyways he left Dior and I'm happy for that..
*entertainment
Everything is good, it's nothing bad about carrot!
This was fucking breathtaking. No doubt Raf Simons belongs at Dior. It['s 2013 and he has captured such modernity in women it should be illegal.
such a sad collection
let's not mistook his pride for his attitude.
I actually think that Raf is missing out working for Dior... It's kind of boring but I do like how it is also clothing to wear on any given day and not be looked at crazily.
well you don't buy books to make them dust on the shelves, right? :) fashion is not only about being able to afford something, it's just the most accessible form of art

i think dior is lost at the moment... some great pieces but dizzying overall - so many ideas no anchor just a drift in the sky...
Dior 2013 : fabric and stitching//Model report : No Expression, No Emotional, Not Inspired//Note: Backstage is still full of underage teenager smoking and eating vegetable sandwich with no Emotion what so ever.
BTW, I'm my opinion, they expended so MUCH more money in the backgrounds, than in the clothe itself!
Dior died in 2012, I mean, I really liked the last shows (2012's), but this year really REALLY sucks, I'm sorry but it's true!
omg dude, PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH
impecable, clásico,----aburrido-- pero con piezas muy interesantes, elegantes y muy femeninas
Yeah but not by losing all the DNA of the house.
Это ж надо было додуматься испортить белую сумку желтой туфлей!
For those of you bragging about John Galiano..as Heidi Klum says: in fashion, when day you're in, the next day you're out...unless your name is Karl Lagerfeld.
well, he's fucking dead rn, how bout dat
Unfortunately this is the original soundtrack . I watched the show live on their website....
This "collection" has nothing to do with Fall/Winter. I mean, what kind of woman in the world would wear strapless pieces made with a light chiffon with 40°F ??? Anyway, it looks really cheap, like a bad version of Carolina Herrera SS13. Raf can express Dior's shapes, but NOT the Dior's spirit ;)
there is nothing bad about a carrot...
raf can be a great designer at chloe... please leave dior...
It started out nice but it gets soo boring I almost fell asleep!
from first class to third class..
vanilla cast as usual...
THIS IS A DISGRACE FOR THE DIOR HOUSE, THE REAL SPIRIT OF DIOR HAS GONE SINCE JOHN LEFT....RAF SIMONS IS SO WRONG.
So lack lustre and imagination
Nice but not really in the spirit of DIor!xxx
Comparing Raf with John is simply wrong and misses the point. I think Raf is as brilliant as John , but in a different way. Raf has a clarity and simplicity that is sublime. Moreover , he like Karl at Chanel, wants to stay within the design concepts of their respective creator's. John is truly a visionary, seeking to totally deconstruct all accepted fashion paradigms
i don't like
boring
This is Very bad !!!
plain, dull, cheap please bring back Galliano
Boring, uninspiring. Blanch
Boring and nothing special
Bland collection, pretentious soundtrack, awful walks...NEXT
