Here's the thing! If I was in the show and this episode of Heathcliff, I'd videotape on those 2 siamese cats taking over Heathcliff's territory! And then I'd run to Mr. Nutmeg's family and other people to tell and reveal the truth about what really happened to their neighborhood (which was this time not because of Heathcliff!)
Winner Star, right now I think they took this episode from Disney's "Lady and the Tramp", like you said both of them feature Asian cat twins that frame both main characters and getting them in trouble in front of old characters.
Despite the now dated racial stereotypes, this was one of the better episodes in an otherwise routine cartoon series. I wish they had brought back the Siamese Twins in other episodes. At the time this episode was broadcast (c. 1985), my family owned a couple of Siamese cats, so I knew what kind of wise guys they could be!
You know what sort of doesn't make sense? Why would the store clerk leave his store unattended just to chase after a cat? Someone could have totally cleaned out his store while he was gone. Just sayin'. *shrug*
Yes! Another excellent episode of Heathcliff, one of my favorites. My favorite quote: Siamese Twins: Ah, chubby poochy. You're about to battle THE SIAMESE TWINS! Spike: C'mon! C'mon! I'll murderlized ya! Siamese Twins: Ya-phunk! *beats up Spike* 10 secs later. Hector: It looks like two cats are taken over Heathcliff's territory. Great upload, Swiftur. Now I'm hoping for A Catfood for Thought.
I'll be uploading some of the older Ruby-Spears episodes, where Spike is a little less cowardly and a little tougher. Heathcliff I think, made Spike scared of him after so many times of getting beat up...
Or...they thought Heathcliff was the worse of two evils. The reign of the dictator Heathcliff was something Hector could tolerate...but he expected the Siamese Twins to be far more ruthless rulers.
I find it neat how the first season of this show used TONS of Hanna-Barbara sound effects. But quite a few early DIC shows used the H-B sound effects library, but to me "Heathcliff" comes the closest to sounding like a real Hanna-Barbara cartoon.
Heh. Well what do you know? Hector and the others actually decided to help Heathcliff when those siamese cats had him at their mercy. I'll say, its very unusual for Hector to show heart for he's normally the kind a guy who tries so desperately to take advantage of others.
Heathcliff's greatest challenge to date. "THE SIAMESE TWINS" A bit of a stereotype there. May as well call them the "Jeremy Lins", but it was the 80s :D
@darkangel92070 That's funny. Because most of the times Hector is very selfish. But I guess I see your point. I two am puzzled by the fact that not every episode has been released on DVD. And this was a great show back in its day.
So true. But U know what, that's what's so great about the 80s. We didn't give a flying shit about what was PC as long as it was funny. BTW, my fav H-cliff episode.
Maybe Hector knows that if he don't help Heathcliff out, he'd get a bigger butt-kicking from him later! But it does seem a little out of character for Hector, I agree...
lol at the beginning............wtf is heath's angel on about, the fisherman twirled then got buried by apples.......it's not like a car or truck hit him!
Kinda surprised that a cartoon made during the Reagan years would do this - not only are those two cats blatant racist stereotypes, but calling them Siamese Twins also seems kinda tasteless
Interesting you say this. I had a dream about 2 months ago and the whole dream was in 4k resolution. So vivid & crystal clear. While the room I was sleeping in was dark. Now I know my mind has a higher capability. Will I enjoy those old low-resolution dreams now?
I like this cartoon
one of my favorites...the SIAMESE TWINS!
This exact same cartoon was used in the Heathcliff feature film, but the sound effects and background music were completely different.
I grew up watching this cartoon
I've noticed in every heathcliff cartoon, when the tv is on its almost always inspector gadget!
Well, they were distributed by the same company.
i remembered this episode i miss the 80's
It's rather sad that it would even be an issue...now or then. If that's how they really talk, then that's how they talk.
This is another time Heathcliff gets framed, for town havoc, by only the Siamese Twins.
Aidan Lang thank you for the comment! I love your avatar, The Secret of NIMH an Mrs. Brisby rules!
one of my favorite episodes since i was a kid :D
Oh god I remember watching this episode when I was kid. Love it!

Indeed... that, and the music/sound effects were totally different.
Good point. I never realized that until watching this again years later.
LOVE THIS EPISODE! Of course, this cartoon would NEVER be allowed on TV today!
Timbrock1000, how come?
John Shutterbug ypu know the siamese cats from lady and the tramp? it's because their both asian sterotypes.
Timbrock1000 try the Pluto TV app. You'll a couple of channels with old cartoons on there.

They can always cause trouble and blame it on anything or anyone else for the siamese cats mischiefs!!

I REMEMBER DYS LYKE YESTERDAY! COOL "DISCO"-DAN
Lol I love when they just chuck that poodle away at 6:14. so funny ^_^

Oh, the title card? lol
Poor Heathcliff... ouch!
Never mess with Heathcliff

my favorite episode when i was a kid dont heathcliff ever meet riff raff 4 real anyway?
The best DIC Heathcliff cartoon. Since I owned a Siamese @ the time.
Sounds like Garfield.
@whatupchico They're Siamese cats.
Watch more of my videos and judge for yourself! (Shameless plug)
Seriously though, yeah, Heathcliff can be a real pain in the butt sometimes XD
inspector gadget was a dic cartoon too
Can you upload "The CatFather," next? It's a request you can't refuse...just kidding!
Perhaps, but my comment was in reference to the shortie clip versus the movie depiction of the same cartoon.
How does a cat supposed to get money to pay for the fish?
Daniel Gonzalez, good question.
Is Heathcliff really all that troublesome?
You never watch the show, haven't you?

Hey Mr. Orange cat!
I don't know but if he can't that doesn't make it right for him to steal them.
I think this is episode is my favorite...
scholar300, mine too. He's a crybaby @ 0:52.
Thet would be the Mungo Mash.
Stealing fish, fighting and dumping trash cans? Isn't that what cats are supposed to do?
ever wonder why siamese twins are never conjoined?...plus all cats look identical at birth...lolo..lol..just wondering..
lol at the beginning............wtf is heath's angel on about, the fisherman twirled then got buried by apples.......it's not like a car or truck hit him!
PrimalWolf2006, the truck barely touched him.
lol yeah i know, i think Heathcliff's angel overreacted just a little ;D
Kinda surprised that a cartoon made during the Reagan years would do this - not only are those two cats blatant racist stereotypes, but calling them Siamese Twins also seems kinda tasteless
wow. I didnt realize the animation was so terrible back then. I was too young to notice and thats all we knew
Interesting you say this. I had a dream about 2 months ago and the whole dream was in 4k resolution. So vivid & crystal clear. While the room I was sleeping in was dark. Now I know my mind has a higher capability. Will I enjoy those old low-resolution dreams now?
I take offence the Asian racist stereotype seen in the Siamese cats
