Wow! It's clear from your playing that this one inspired you Jonathan! Warm Jazz to blistering solos on the bridge pickup on top of a 70's Love Boat style backing track! Very cool!
That’s like a classic work of art Jon. Really beautiful, and I normally don’t like white guitars. The intro was sublime. I really enjoyed the whole video, thanks 🙏👍👍👍😊
I have this guitar now about 1 1/2 year and it's my favorite semi, light, smaller body, very nice feel and a good sound for a very moderate price... It may stay. 🙂
In the late 1960s my buddy played a baby blue Hagstrom II, it was awesome. Glad to see they are still producing great instruments. Alvar is $950CAD in Canada, within range of a comparable Ibanez semi hollow.
I watched your video 3x and decided to purchase. Got the Alvar Swedish Frost from Butler Music USA , Brand New for $579 US. Hope to have it in my hands next week. Thanks for share your review with the world.
it's nice that you finally got a Hagstrom to play. I love hagstrom, the neck is perfect and the trustrod creates a very nice sustain sound. I hope you can try other styles from Hagstrom like 'Swede' (LP), 'Ultra Max Milky Mandarin Satin' (mine) 🙂. Anyway the Alvar is a real beauty too.
Hi Jon! I love your playing and your guitar reviews are always quite helpful! I've had my eye on the Alvar for some time now, but your video (and finding a good deal on one) made me pull the trigger. Just got a Swedish Frost one yesterday, and apart from a little fret sprout and a slightly dry fretboard, it was absolutely perfect out of the box. Thanks for the killer review! God Bless!
Stunning guitar. I have the hagstrom fantomen which has the same composite neck. It’s so easy to play. And I really like what hagstrom are putting out now. It’s like a ES-339. I’m guessing it has a centre block and isn’t totally hollow? My local guitar store has one in so after watching this may have to go have a look. Thanks for another informative review. Peace and love from UK 🇬🇧
David, I got one tonight from a lovely family shop in Liverpool - Austin Guitars. They have one more left in a deep claret if you want to look them up! Comes with an exceptionally lovely hard case too
@@domformula1 I just purchased a D’Angelico DC premier in champagne with stair case tail piece.. this afternoon actually.it’s stunning. But Thankyou very much for heads up though
Undoubtedly this amazing guitar inspired you! Flawless playing, I’m surprised how well you got the jazz tones as this guitar looks like 14” thinline, smaller than a big jazz box like the Gibson ES-175. I’m still trying to get tones like those with my Eastman (ES-335 based).
Hi, What is the name of the song that you play in track 2 that you call "song"? An incredibly nice guitar leg :-) And what sound do you use to get the sound you have on the guitar? A delicious sound that fits perfectly with this nice warm jazz song.

Youre playingon every guitar is nice but be aware these hollow or semi hollows are so different made at the price point, dont play ithese and show youre followers the specs, show them tha real thing underneath the visual contsruction of a, for example a Gretsch, on the chinese made ones they appear as a Gretsch and have the Logo on headstock but they are not Gretsches, same as the Guild ones under a 4 digit in price for a used one you wont get a good one@@JonIsJustTooLoud
Is this guitar good for a new player hoping to keep it from a beginning guitarist to a professional guitarist? Would I be able to play everything from jazz to rock?
Sadly the Hagstrom guitars are no longer made in sweden, maybe exept for one or two odd models wich are pretty expensive. The orignal swedish production ended already around 1982. Now adays most models are made in China, I belive. Not sure how the swedish connection looks like today, exept the name. Anyway, it seems like the Hagstroms guitars are pretty well made and are competible in that price range.
I would like to hear you do a "best of" each year by genre......since you review so many different guitars.......I get the feeling from watching these reviews that every guitar is good....so if buying it really doesn't matter what you pick as long as it is in the mid price range ...you can play jazz on almost any guitar for example, same for rock etc...so in the long run it's more about establishing an identity with a specific guitar or guitar brand....am I right?
True, but so do A LOT of other guitar companys. Seems like Indonesia are taking over more and more of guitar production and I think thats a good thing.
When the playing is this good, it's never too loud!
lol

lol...thanks!✌♥
No jazz here but some nice groove playing.
That guitar sounds great! But I’m sure having Jon playing any guitar,he can make it sound beautiful!! Great playing!!!
lol...nada..✌❤ its a great guitar!

Thanks Tom✌️❤️
Your playing touches my heart like few others, very beautiful
Thank you ✌️❤️

Glad you liked it!✌️❤️
You're an amazing player!
Thank you
Beautiful guitar! Beautiful playing!
✌❤
I bought one today from GC. Same Swedish Frost at a clearance price. So far I'm loving it.
Enjoy it!!!
"SMOOTH 'N TASTY" playing, like always. You make every guitar sound like Royalty 👌🎶💖 Love the looks and sounds of the Hagström👍
Thank you✌️❤️
I think these look so cool. I'd love to have one as something totally different in my collection.
✌♥

maybe my next Hagstrom, or even a 'Swede Bass'?

The guitar playing is an added bonus.

Die Gitarre ist sehr schön, aber du spielst Hammer Gitarre mein Freund. 😎👍
Sorry, but i had to write it in German 😊
Danke, sehr freundlich!✌❤

The visual appearance of this one is great, WOW love it but it sounds dull, well its not a Gretsch
✌️❤️
How does it compare with the ESP AC 256FM..?
Any input really appreciated.
Am looking at both and decide the purchase.
Much blessings 🙌
Ty
cant possibly tell you now...it's been a while...

It’s just a jam with a backing track✌️❤️

Does Hagstrom make this in silver? I've seen a silver version of this also called "Swedish Frost" so I'm confused.
i dont know if they have one in this model ✌❤
Hi friend, do you have some tabs and amp settings for you very nice song please? Thx
No sorry…
Got me a Guild Starfire 6, you should do a review on this, i was thinking of a replacement for a better made Gretsch 5655 tg
Sure if I can get my hands on one

I don’t see why not✌️❤️
Hi, do you give guitar lessons?
Yes I do.. but I’m currently on tour

I believe it's more about establishing yourself with the guitar itself. The brand is just a guide or precursor to what you might expect.✌♥
How does the Hagstrom compare to the Larry Carlton?
Very different guitars ✌️❤️
😀🤟🏾❤🎶
✌️❤️
😁👍👏🇸🇪
Neck dive?
Nope
Really nice guitar, but the headstock...
✌️❤️
for me this headstock is the most beautiful headstock I know 🙂
Can’t live with that tailpiece. Clunky and overly large.
ok
A swedish name but not a swedish guitar anymore. Made in the dictatorship of china.
Let’s not go there… have you been to china? ✌️❤️
True, but so do A LOT of other guitar companys. Seems like Indonesia are taking over more and more of guitar production and I think thats a good thing.
