Although I live in a completely different climate zone I found your video very inspiring. I grew up with a big garden and I am now planning a bird friendly balcony for the first time. Out of all the videos I've watched and articles I've read your video has helped me the most. Thanks so much and keep up the good work!
Thank you ma'am for such a lovely video. I remember once a little humming bird was hovering around my Aprajita flowers. Luckily, I was close enough to keenly look at the tiny wings and beak of the colorful bird. It was a very satisfying experience. I had no regrets that I did not took a photo of that moment, instead, I had a smile whole day. It was all magic and smiles.
Hi, I just wanted to update you, that I followed all your instructions, we even planted a Dragon tree (Dracaena marginata). Now we have 4-5 bulbuls playing in our balcony every day, they love that tree and keep playing in it, chirping loudly....Bees and dragonflies are constantly visiting. Unfortunately we have never seen parrots in Jakarta, so I doubt we will ever get any. But we are SOOOOOOO happy. I am growing mulberries and Malabar spinach so that the bulbuls can enjoy those....lots of multi-coloured flowers as well.....Everything organic, as you suggested. Hopefully they will enjoy it as much as we are loving every moment. Thanks for all your guidance. I have shared this video with at least 500 people, and I hope all will be inspired to make a pleasant space for these beautiful little ones.
Thank you so much for taking a momment to write back and share your happiness.🙏 I am really happy with your success and the way you turned your balcony to a heaven, it must be making you feel lively and giving peace. 😊 I hope everyone will take inspiration from this.☺️🙏

what is the season of mulberry fruit and Malabar spinach berries? We may need to plant other seasonal berry and fruit plants to keep supply of berries and fruits throughout the year so that birds keep visiting. Can you please suggest more such plants?
Nice video❤ I want to a specially attract parrots on my balcony at 9th flr, any specific parrot food which won't attract pigeons but only parrots ? What steps can u suggest ? Thank you
Do they come to your balcony often? If yes, then you can have some local sliced guava. They love to eat the seeds. And slowly, you can give any seeds like corn peanut.....
do they come to eat the malabar spinach berries? I'm planning to plant one malabar spinach plant. Alos, what is the season of malabar spinach berries? Please reply
@@eURBANORGANICGARDEN Thanks for your reply. Can you suggest sweet berries? Seeing your video I planted one mulberry plant but the fruiting is quite low in quantity. I have shifted it to a bigger pot and fertilising it regularly with mustard cake liquid fertiliser. Hope they come to eat the mulberries.
Hello, the bird sucking nectar from hibiscus flower is sunbird..not hummingbird. In india we dont find hummingbirds but a similar bird sunbird, by the way your balcony garden is beautiful.
Thanks for the massive help! However, I recently planted hibiscus and attracted many ants into the plants, will the ants deter the birds? If I use pesticide to kill them, I'm worried it will harm the birds
Very nice n beautiful video abt birds bt need lots of patience i am trying to attract birds by keeping water, food, n wooden homes hopefully one day I will see d many birds in my garden
Wow, your balcony garden is simply stunning! I've been trying to make my 40th-floor balcony more bird-friendly since the past few months, especially after one parrot came and visited it. This video had more information than the 100s of articles & videos I've seen so far! My balcony already looks like a jungle (20+ plants- bamboo, Norfolk pine, photos, some orchids)- biggest obstacle is that I get zero sunlight. So I use artificial lighting which works better than nothing. But flowering plants like hibiscus usually stop flowering. Which plants out of that list would you recommend in low light conditions? Also any alternative to Oleander?- it's supposedly very toxic to pets. My bamboo is almost 6 ft, but it doesn't hang out of my balcony like that
Thank you! You can have a Bougainvillea plant in place of Oleander. And flowering plants like Kalanchoes, Begonia, Raat ki rani, Hydrangea, Ixora, Vinca, Impatient and Geranium will do the job. Being a balcony gardener I have noticed that birds, bees and butterflies are usually trapped by mass blooms with different colors of flowers. Once you have any of the mentioned plants at your place, add a bird feeder to attract birds. I hope this information will help you. Let me know if any other help you need to know. Thanks for watching the video.
@@eURBANORGANICGARDEN Thanks so much! Bougainvillea sounds like a great alternative. I'll surely be getting the flowering plants you mentioned. I have a wall patch in my balcony with strong sunlight-where I was thinking of growing some berry-type plant (by using trellis to train it along the wall). Which plant would you recommend?
@@eURBANORGANICGARDEN Thanks! Also, I noticed that you get bulbuls in your garden, what do they eat? Anything that's their favorites? I had one come to my balcony past week, but I didn't have any food out

Hello, the bird sucking nectar from hibiscus flower is sunbird..not hummingbird. In india we dont find hummingbirds but a similar bird sunbird, by the way your balcony garden is beautiful.
Amazing! Do bougainvillea attract birds?
If it has flowers, they can come and sit on it. Eventually, they will explore other plants in your garden that can give food to them.
Thanks for the massive help! However, I recently planted hibiscus and attracted many ants into the plants, will the ants deter the birds? If I use pesticide to kill them, I'm worried it will harm the birds
Sorry for replying late. ☺️ Yes, pesticide may deter. And ants on your hibiscus plant are due to mealybugs, white insects. Use neem oil.😊
Really amzing video and +be attitude ❤️

If this wall is getting 5 or 6 hours of direct sunlight then strawberries will be a great addition. You can plant them in wall-hanging planters.
