My Dutch Shepherd is a beast. The Dutchies are amazing dogs if well trained.
Mine is retired. Wife works from home and children are gone. He’s very chill. Sleeps with us, enjoys playing ball, grandchildren climb on him till he escapes. If children are in the home he sleeps with them. It’s a herding dog, not a pit bull. You really have to F up to get him to engage.

Dutchies seen as in the video are crossbreeds with mostly a Malinois ! These are called workingdogs ! You have also the showline Dutchie and they're smaller & not so sharp and less nervous than the workingline bred Malinois or Dutch Shepherd of mixed dogs. A Dutchie is fast called a Dutchie because of the brindeld colours ...
This guy knows his stuff I have 3 year old European Dutch Shepherd she has a all black face and is brindle from just behind her eyes to the tip of her tail. There should not be any solid black or white patches on there body if there purebred Dutch Shepherd.
@@theworst4980 If you know working dogs, they care less about pretty colors and more about work. White will come through on many, why, bc they don't care about being pretty. Ive owned mals, GSD's, and dutchies for 25yrs.
@@TheYoungerSemiOldMan you owed mutts good to know. It's not about colors, it is about know your dogs lineage and where it came from if I go to buy a Dutch Shepherd and I doesn't look like a Dutch Shepherd it is a mutt.

DO your homework. Search, understand YOUR skill levels and money to spend to have a professional trainer ready. Most are appx $500/mo easy. So before you strart looking at cool videos, etc look in your wallet. If your good, and you have $4k to spend on the dog, and $15K to speand on training, and then $10 to keep it polished, cvonsider another breed. Youre not ready yet.
Hey love the content, was just wondering specifically for the Dutch shepherd breed, I have a male Dalmatian would it be okay to get a Dutch puppy and if so witch sex. I’m and athletic guy who has the time to train but understand sometimes other factors can play in.
Hard to say without knowing the dogs! Even breeds can have big differences in personalities, but I'd say work with a professional in your area. I've seen both sexes have conflict and not have conflict so it really depends on the dog. A dutch can be a lot of work, they need a lot of mental and physical stimulation but definitely will need strict management and extensive exposure to the world
We don't know your dalmatian. You bought it and know it. Bring it to the professional academy and have them evaluate you and the dalmatian to see if you are even ready to give the dog the MOST it can do instead of basics. Anyone can buy a working dog. But do you REALLY know what time it is?

Ask Haz at shieldk9 he claims that theres only a handful of good dutchie breeders in america. Youll likely end up with a nerve bag otherwise

you have show stock and working stock. Do you want pretty or do you want WORK? Please, if you are going to go this route, please make sure you are mentally ready with experience. Your comment on his ears shows you know not much in this working areas field. You are still stuck in Show pretty dog world and not working dog world.

My Dutch Shepherd is 10. My complaint is he sheds….. it’s a lot of hair. We love him,he wants to herd things together. He’s most happy if all his humans are in a place he can see them 😂. It’s a very athletic dog. Probably not a good fit for most people. I don’t recommend this dog for the public.
changing the food was the solution for mines ( i already have my third Dutchy now) so they shed only in spring and fall. Also with 10 month the hormones start coming in... and with two years this should have change to adult status ...for training i used in the beginning a kibble with a high animal protein content or dry tiny meat pieces, the rest is raw fatty meat, bones and organs and fried or boiled eggs and fish
make sure your dog has enough saturated animal fat, best wishes for you both
