No. He's in an elevator cause every time he trys to escape he's paid to deal with it. every time the guy comes up to him and gives him money. he's stating that just get the job done and you get paid.
Corpse Husband I love that you listen to Token. Btw keep up the vids, ive been watching you for a couple years now and love ur vids man, stay on ur grind
I must be the only person in the world who doesn't know what it means to get signed. Like, it supposed to be good right? A lot of rappers Want a record deal, but most people saying like it's a bad thing.. what do you mean stay free?
StillHdz17 he has to stay unsigned the material he produces is just amazing like imagine if he had signed and they turned exception into some corny pop song I wouldn't be feeling his stuff as much especially because exception is how I found out about him
"Free" as in "free to do as he wants". Imagine a painter who paints what his mind tells him to, then someone walking up with a bag of money asking him to change things.
Nihilist The Rapper I don't think so. I feel like Token addressing these things head on might piss off the people he's talking about. we don't know who they are, but they know if it's them

emcee ɛmˈsiː/Submit informal noun 1. a master of ceremonies. "a tuxedoed emcee strode to the middle of the stage" 2. an MC at a club or party. you mean the second one, which is what token is. he isnt a master of ceremonies.
Would be dope if he kept this beat alive and would do problem 2 and 3 and so on through out his career, so much emotion in this and the rawness of it, this is the stuff that I love listening to

You don't need record labels. They sign you to confine you and keep real music like this from the world. Once you sign they pull you back from saying such messages as you are saying. The world is changing and the industry labels will fail soon because people are waking up to what real music is. I respect your work. Wish I could collab with you but I feel that is too much to ask.
labels were really only a thing because back in the day they had to advertise word of mouth and labels were able to reach the masses they're an outdated idea and they know it that's why they cling to power. Those who cant let go simply are just afraid of falling
This is the first song where you speak to the audience as if they're equals, and not like they're maggots or in need of advice. I respect you using rap as an escape from your true self, and at the same time, you need more songs like this.
CK_85 I guess this must be the 1st song you've heard then. I can name at least 3 more where he's directly talking/apologizing to the fans. go buy the album. support the underground and educate yourself.
I bought Eraser Shavings and I've listened it to a few dozen times. I love him, though I don't like his narcissism, even if he has the talent to back it up. Don't tell me to "educate myself" and "support the underground" when you don't know me at all
First, I have listened to it all the way through a few dozen times. Second, you do not need to be so confrontational and angry, as it does not make your point any stronger, rather it makes you sound more ignorant ("The ignorant mind, with its infinite afflictions, passions, and evils, is rooted in three poisons. Greed, anger, and delusion." -Bodhidharma). Finally, I readily admit when I'm wrong, and upon another listen to those songs with a new intention, you are correct. When I wrote the comment, I did not recall those songs, perhaps because that the recommended songs in the sidebar were the ones that were filling my mind. I still stand by my opinion that he needs more songs of this caliber.
CK_85 I don't need a sermon. and if you knew the album you'd know the songs instead of just the "hits". know the music. here's your L for the day Listen with your ears and not your mouth.
I have said this two times, but now I must resort to telling you in a way that you might actually understand: *I have listened to every fucking song in that album several dozen times. Every fucking song* I must also add that my memory is not perfect, and I am not going to go through Token's entire anthology in my mind before writing a comment on a RUclips video. Also, no, I did not take an "L". I was reminded about the songs in his collection after writing a comment that neglected them. In short, fuck off.
So i just realised every time Token tried to leave the elevator someone would come up to him and give him something to trick him into continuing rapping. The real question is who that man is suppose to be?
Cancer Cop no when he tries to exit the elevator, it signifies him trying to get out of the situation hes in ,but the guy that hands him money is like someone saying stfu and do your job. with him needing the money, he sits back down and starts the next verse. so, whenever he tries to get out( sponsor ...jk) he is paid to sit back down and deal with it. It could be considered a room full of new problems.(pun) But still u could still be right.
no it says "The title of the song (New Problems), is inspired by Biggie Smalls' “Mo' Money Mo' Problems. In the music video of New Problems, Token receives a bundle of cash after the first and the second verse, and after the third verse, it starts to rain cash. The more money he gets, the more (new) problems he gets."
He cites B.I.G as one of his biggest influences. In a song where he speaks about more problems, the money increases in the video. Mo Money Mo Problems baby, Shyeahhh!!
Rehab Reject Yeah man, that use of symbolism is 100% intentional, Token always seems to amaze no matter how much shit he has been through to put him off course.
Hey Idk if you’re ever gonna see this but I want you to know that your music is literally saving my life. I don’t usually listen to rap but I’ve literally never connected more with anybody else’s music than yours. It’s just so fucking genuine and it’s helping me deal with shit that most people fifty years older than me have never dealt with. As a thirteen-time attempt survivor (and just so everyone knows that sounds just as crazy to me as it does to you), there have been moments where I was literally in the bathroom with a bottle of pills in my hand and the only reason why I didn’t swallow the whole thing is because I decided to pull out my phone and listen to your music. My guess is that you’ll never see this but I hope you know that what you do saves lives because I have literally never heard any artist more real than you.
Stay independent. Going commercial means you have little to no freedom and creative control because they want to change your music just to have that commercial sound. I plan on staying independent without a doubt.
jack steele yeahh, it was great, he got us to sing it like 6 times haha, I meat him as we were walking out and got a pic with him, made my whole night😂
Best artist around right now, there's no other artist right now producing tracks I am looking forward to hearing so much. I just hope he can keep up the pace cos so far it's full steam ahead and destined for greatness.
Not a lot of rap would've been as dope as this is with this beat. The beat and rap really compliment each other. Moderate fan you are very skilled Token! much love to everyone and good luck with your daily struggles.

I've been there on end o the first verse man and that guilt and responsibility is hard to bear but I can tell you're a strong dude. And fuck, the third verse too. Your storytelling and rhyme schemes make your shit even more relatable too, keep killin it
Bro. Love it. Keep putting your heart on your sleeve. In my b.s. opinion. That makes you genuine. Also you tell a story, in your music. That is something most music has lost. Keep doing you bro. Props...
Waffles And Bacon wait I never watched that show. seriously? then he should be big like"drake" fuck drake first of all but he was on a tv show and is well known now for some stupid reason.
y'all notice how after each verse he attempts to leave the elevator, but there's always someone offering him more money?? maybe that could be a reason why he's still rapping-because of the money.
Trevor Sullivan Not exactly rapping for money. It's a reference to "More Money More Problems", with social (personal), economic and reality problems related to fame and contracts. It's has an awesome video. An elevator going up (his career and life advancing) but stopping everytime something fucked up happens to him. He tries to leave that condition, but the industry keeps giving him more and more money and trying to keep him on that same pace, generating him to have more and more problems. so... at the end, everything is symbolized with the rain of money... "i'm fucked up but with money raining on my head". Clearly the best hip hop artist of our generation together with hopsin, NF, Marty and some others.
I've been a fan for awhile now & it amazes me to see how big you're becoming. Keep keeping it original. Don't let them suckas buy you out, my dude. New problemzzz
I listen to token Daily but still gets blown away by the fact that he is so young , he is so important for the hip hop culture .. hip hop is not dead!!!! Here is the saviour ..
"I don't wanna hear no one judging my choices if they don't what it feels like to be completely avoided to being somebody that everyone's talking about", thts some real ass sht
This song is dope! Speak the truth and people will lose their minds! I love it! Keep it up token and always keep your songs a hunnid, your opinion only matters!!
He doesn't need to collaborate because he is doing this shit proving that he can build a career off his own works. I respect em for it and he is quite lyrically gifted for his age. I mean shit to construct freestyle like he does is quite a feat in it self. Sir Skitzo is gonna phase out anywhom so Token wouldn't even consider it.
MrGoro6 I fuck with Joyner to..especially Ross cappochionni ....I just fuck with tokens music more...Joyner is a beast though but token half his age 💯💯
Token's music videos are always so good! On his journey to the top he faces many problems and the only thing keeps him in the elevator (the journey) when he tries to get out is the money, which is also indirectly, his fans.
Slowly making my way in and this song really helps man like honestly I know your trying too get things off your chest but I just wanted you too know this really helps me see things in a clearer way
Dylan James Ferreira 7 billion on the planet. Roughly 6 billion are all very absent when it comes to intelligence and of that remaining one billion only a small small sliver pf a percent listen to intelligent music. So it leaves us intelligent ones outnumbered by those with no brains.
not a lot of people listened to this. i just wanted you to know i liked it. i will pray for you token. you my number 1 homie... always. i feel you bro. that shit has to be painful. i have depression. i know how you feel man. take care.
he's in an elevator because every new level he reaches gives him a new problem. very subliminal.
damn that actually sounds legit
No. He's in an elevator cause every time he trys to escape he's paid to deal with it. every time the guy comes up to him and gives him money. he's stating that just get the job done and you get paid.
IWasReloading V4 no it's showing every time he receives a paycheck he gets more problems. "Mo' money mo' problems"
What if I told you that all of you are right?
Yitzchak Epstein 😂
Raw as fuck, love it. Glad you were able to express yourself with this one transparently.
Corpse Husband I love that you listen to Token. Btw keep up the vids, ive been watching you for a couple years now and love ur vids man, stay on ur grind
Almost 2 years I think
Corpse Husband anymore stalkers?
Well God motherfucking damnit!
wow, didn´t expect to find this xd
jesus christ Token. stay unsigned. this talent needs to stay free.
StillHdz17 aye real talk tho !
StillHdz17 hopsin would give him that freedom lol it only make sense for these 2 to team up
I’m done sleeping on Token.

This song slaps harder than my father's belt.

Damn. I can relate to part 3 so much. Used to see my dad every weekend, now i see him maybe once a month. Doesn't feel to me like a dad either, but rather as an old friend who i kinda 'have' to see some time. Small talk here, small talk there, just to keep each other talking. Being so close related to each other but yet i feel like a stranger who visits him and his family when feeling bad for not seeing them for weeks.

Token always surpasses expectations, A true Emcee
U T M MC*

emcee
ɛmˈsiː/Submit
informal
noun
1.
a master of ceremonies.
"a tuxedoed emcee strode to the middle of the stage"
2.
an MC at a club or party.

Would be dope if he kept this beat alive and would do problem 2 and 3 and so on through out his career, so much emotion in this and the rawness of it, this is the stuff that I love listening to

Lyrics:
[Intro]
Yeah
New Problems
[Verse 1]
One
I met this chick in Idaho after a show I did with Hopsin
Took her back to the hotel, oh my God it was awesome
First time I spent the night with a lady so gorgeous
Thought I was in love with her when I woke up to her that morning
We just clicked
I wanted to take her on the rest of the tour, she was down with it
My manager told me let time pass, wait
So I ended up flying her out for the five last dates
It was better than before
Never would have thought
I'd be with a random girl that I met with on the job
Couldn't tell if I was falling for her or tripping because of her
Shit, I got comfortable on them comforters
We were basically dating for the week
She flew back home, I flew back home, I made it in one piece
But she was falling apart, texting me every moment
Telling me she's sick of home, I was just homesick
'cause when I got home I felt like I was kind of over it
I stopped hitting her up; she started noticing
I was never the it, didn't realize how deep I was in
Till she sent me snapchats of cuts deep in her skin
Some suicidal shit
Telling me that I'm supposed to be with you so if we're not together there is no reason why I should live
Now I'm under the table texting her subtly
Praying that this chick don't kill herself because of me
[Hook]
New problems
New problems
Don't tell my momma 'bout all these new problems
New problems
[Verse 2]
Two
This bitch ass snake is tryna sign me
When I met him few years ago he was that guy to me
He knew all my favorite rappers personally
It blew my mind when he said he wanted to work with me
And before I could even digest what he said to me
He literally already had people calling who said they want to invest in me
Damn, thought I was in a dream
First time homies with somebody in the industry
Thought I was 'bout to blow up; I was overwhelmed
Thinking to myself, is it really supposed to go this well?
So before I made a move
I told him before I agree to anything, prove to me what you can do
He set up a video shoot, it was a nightmare
He put money behind it but didn't care about my ideas
Arguing over the creative direction
I said fuck it, I ain't doing this, I scrapped the whole session
Then I made the song Exception
Thinking I know this one is powerful, he's gotta love it, I gotta send it
He said he liked it but he wants to edit
So he got a new beat, corny hook and turned it to a pop record
This dude's tripping
Acting like a baller but now I know that he's not 'cause he's treating me like a dollar

New problems
[Verse 3]
Three
Got a couple bucks now so I'm skeptical
'bout where I put my time, I'm busy all the time and I feel terrible
'cause I've been slipping up
Spending all this time with fake friends I got family members I ain't hitting up
But I don't want to hear anyone judging my choices
If they don't know what it feels like to go from completely avoided
To somebody that everybody is talking about
It don't even feel the same when I walk in my house
New rumors 'bout me every single day
Like he don't want to chill with us, he rather chill with Sway
He think he's better than us
He think he's moving on
I go out, pretend to be social, just to prove them wrong
But I ain't see my dad in a month
I only see him for dinner; we're still acting like that's good enough
But I've been blowing him off like I'm busy and stuff
To the point it don't feel the same when he's picking me up
You know when you're comfortable enough with someone that you could be in complete silence and it wouldn't be awkward?
Well, it's awkward between us, I'm bothered
So I ask stupid questions just to keep him talking
Like how is your job? How is your mom?
How did I get here from writing these songs?
I go to my homies' houses and I'm jealous of them
'Cause they see their dad as a dad, I see my dad as an old friend
I bet he's afraid to bring it up
'Cause he can see I'm under pressure even though I act like I don't give a fuck
Acting like I'm ready for this
Acting like I'm cooler
Acting like I'm not afraid of the future and all my new problems
TRISTAN 👌
TRISTAN You did the first verse twice
JoeShmoHD thx
TRISTAN my name is Tristan but its spelled like Tristian
One.
I met this chick in Idaho after a show I did with Hopsin.
Took her back to the hotel, oh my god it was awesome.
First time I spent the night with a lady so gorgeous.
Thought I was in love with her when I woke up to her that morning.
We just clicked.
I wanted to take her on the rest of the tour, she was down with it.
My manager told me let time pass, wait.
So I ended up flying her out for the five last dates.
It was better than before.
Never would have thought
I'd be with a random girl that I met with on the job.
Couldn't tell if I was falling for her or tripping because of her.
Shit, I got comfortable on them comforters.
We were basically dating for the week.
She flew back home, I flew back home, I made it in one piece.
But she was falling apart, texting me every moment.
Telling me she's sick of home, I was just homesick
'cause when I got home I felt like I was kind of over it.
I stopped hitting her up; she started noticing.
I was never the it, didn't realize how deep I was in
till she sent me snapchats of cuts deep in her skin.
Some suicidal shit.
Telling me that I'm supposed to be with you so if we're not together there is no reason why I should live.
Now I'm under the table texting her subtly
praying that this chick don't kill herself because of me.
New problems.
New problems
Don't tell my momma 'bout all these new problems.

Two.
This bitch ass snake is tryna sign me. When I met him few years ago he was that guy to me.
He knew all my favorite rappers personally.
It blew my mind when he said he wanted to work with me.
And before I could even digest what he said to me,
he literally already had people calling who said they want to invest in me.
Damn, thought I was in a dream.
First time homies with somebody in the industry.
Thought I was 'bout to blow up; I was overwhelmed.
Thinking to myself, is it really supposed to go this well?
So before I made a move,
I told him before I agree to anything, prove to me what you can do.
He set up a video shoot, it was a nightmare.
He put money behind it but didn't care about my ideas.
Arguing over the creative direction,
I said fuck it, I ain't doing this, I scrapped it the whole session.
Then I made the song Exception.
Thinking I know this one is powerful, he's gotta love it, I gotta send it.
He said he liked it but he wants to edit,
so he got a new beat, corny hook and turned it to a pop record.
This dude's tripping.
Acting like a baller but now I know that he's not 'cause he's treating me like a dollar.
Just another check off his checklist, check to deposit.

@@parisdijon9080 your name...
The fact that you actually wrote all the lyrics is impressive
Well done sir,well one.👏👏👏👍
I can relate heavy to the last verse
Cancer Cop the industry itself my dude
Cancer Cop it's playing on the phrase "more money more problems" because Biggie is a big inspiration
#Draco God FACTS
He cites B.I.G as one of his biggest influences. In a song where he speaks about more problems, the money increases in the video. Mo Money Mo Problems baby, Shyeahhh!!
I noticed this too! Don't know if it was intentional but it was fuckin dope
Michu Yeah I saw that too, it has to be intentional, an impeccable artist like Token is for sure aware of the symbolism he's portraying.
Rehab Reject Yeah man, that use of symbolism is 100% intentional, Token always seems to amaze no matter how much shit he has been through to put him off course.
Songs beat sounds a little like 10 Crack Commandments to me
Please don't harm yourself to manipulate others
Stay strong my friend :)
That’s one beautiful comment

I just love his music. This is what rap music is all about.
I have only listened to a few of this guys songs but I already love his music and how every song tells a story
this music video is actually so deep and has so much meaning to it
I can relate The 2nd verse so well. My label isn't putting too much work in. That's why I'm going independent
Stay independent. Going commercial means you have little to no freedom and creative control because they want to change your music just to have that commercial sound. I plan on staying independent without a doubt.
Dom Pierre 😂😂😂😂
Anyone know who hes referring to in verse 2?
VelocityParkour thanks bro. I have a little lp I'm almost finished with
deep man. saw you live in birmingham w hopsin, you just get better and better👌👌👌
I was there too! Lmao the crowd didn't quite get the idea of the start of Doozy but it was a dope show
jack steele yeahh, it was great, he got us to sing it like 6 times haha, I meat him as we were walking out and got a pic with him, made my whole night😂
Jade Plant lucky!! I rushed home to carry on drinking! 😂 glad you enjoyed it and he stopped for a picture - shows he's real 👏
jack steele I dont blame you tbh😂 the whole show was great anyway so I bet you were happy enough! yeah he is sooo down to earth!
Jade Plant more than happy! I went to the hop show more excited for Token TBH 😂
Best artist around right now, there's no other artist right now producing tracks I am looking forward to hearing so much. I just hope he can keep up the pace cos so far it's full steam ahead and destined for greatness.
I’ve just discovered you and your songs blow me away dude you’re so talented
2019 still gives me the chills
Since when does the year of the production affect the song?

I'm glad that we have a rapper like you nowadays! keep doing your thing! Peace!
I love the way you explained how it’s awkward around your dad
Flow like Hopsin
This is amazing. Had to smash that replay button a few times.
Not a lot of rap would've been as dope as this is with this beat. The beat and rap really compliment each other. Moderate fan you are very skilled Token! much love to everyone and good luck with your daily struggles.
I love how his music tells a store its not just words it has a meaning
This guy, he's a prodigy.

Young Joe j
I can feel the inspiration from Hopsin's All Your Fault song, those two are on the same shit i don't know why they don't have a featuring yet
Props...
This was the best song youve ever wrote...
i heard he has a ghowtwriter.....

Bro. This that real shit. Come do another show in Idaho, hope that girl is alright.
Never knew Dewey from Malcolm in the middle could rap

terrence martin he wasn't kidding, it's actually the guy that played Dewey
Waffles And Bacon wait I never watched that show. seriously? then he should be big like"drake" fuck drake first of all but he was on a tv show and is well known now for some stupid reason.
terrence martin yeah I don't like drake much either but yeah he was Dewey in Malcolm in the Middle
Waffles And Bacon fucking dope I like him even more now. go Dewey!!
His music videos are crazy. And this song is dope... real
This song is so real and so creative in the video concept and delivery. Token you are amazing!!!
y'all notice how after each verse he attempts to leave the elevator, but there's always someone offering him more money?? maybe that could be a reason why he's still rapping-because of the money.
Matt Garcc couldn'tve interpreted it better!
Matt Garcc he is also talking about the shady industry trying to change him and take advantage of them.
Trevor Sullivan something like that but doubt he keeps rapping for money
um no stfu i met this dude at a concert and he did it for free. this guy is the most humble and warm hearted person i know.

Nice bro
This is one of the best original songs I have heard in a while.
I teared up, man.... I'm a huge, huge fan, and I am floored. You're content get's better every time you upload something. Damn...
THANK you for another masterpiece
As a an artist just getting his foot in the door, this was reaaaally on the nose with the problems that start poping up
potential to be one of the best, for sure.
I relate to this song on a personal level
This song is dope! Speak the truth and people will lose their minds! I love it! Keep it up token and always keep your songs a hunnid, your opinion only matters!!
Aye here before 1k
I found him at 2k.
homie i respect your approach to hiphop with introspection. just wish and hope you keep rowing that boat the way you are man

I wanna see token, Iamtherealak and Sir Skitzo on a track together!!!!! PLEASE
You want the world to blow up?! That's too much heat on 1 track 😩💯
Rss Clan token don’t collaborate
He doesn't need to collaborate because he is doing this shit proving that he can build a career off his own works. I respect em for it and he is quite lyrically gifted for his age. I mean shit to construct freestyle like he does is quite a feat in it self. Sir Skitzo is gonna phase out anywhom so Token wouldn't even consider it.
he said he isn't ready for colabs cause people gonna be on that "he got here because of that colab with that rapper"
That would be fuckin' Fire! 🔥 🔥 🔥
token and joyner lucas
Dorian Schaerf-Trauner YES!!!
Dorian Schaerf-Trauner could you see Token on XXL? lol with the line up this year token would overshine all of them with a 16 bar verse
Fook yeah dude

MrGoro6 I fuck with Joyner to..especially Ross cappochionni ....I just fuck with tokens music more...Joyner is a beast though but token half his age 💯💯
Token's music videos are always so good! On his journey to the top he faces many problems and the only thing keeps him in the elevator (the journey) when he tries to get out is the money, which is also indirectly, his fans.
Slowly making my way in and this song really helps man like honestly I know your trying too get things off your chest but I just wanted you too know this really helps me see things in a clearer way

Shit ,this guy is too intense ,but, to be honest ,guys like Token are the reason why I still listen and believe in hip hop. Keep it up bro.
I like tokens rhyme scheme. Much like poetry in my opinion. Not a lot of hip hop artists are like this.
This is real fire!!
What that reminds you???

Wow! That's awesome. I'm so glad there are artists like you! Gives me hope, that the autotune losers won't be here for long..
after listening to token it makes me wondering why rappers like lil uzi vert, desiigner etc.. even exist
Dylan James Ferreira 😂😂
Dylan James Ferreira oh you're so intelligent because you hate on other peoples music because it doesn't carry deep meaning.
because if stuff like that didn't exist it wouldnt make this stand out as much as it does to you
Dylan James Ferreira 7 billion on the planet. Roughly 6 billion are all very absent when it comes to intelligence and of that remaining one billion only a small small sliver pf a percent listen to intelligent music. So it leaves us intelligent ones outnumbered by those with no brains.
oh really did u know that 84% of statistics are made up on the spot
This video concept is GOLD!
I have no idea how I didn't discover your music earlier. You lyrics are real, keep it up man.
Token will blow up trust me ;) .. This song is deep af...
He went from a few thousand to one hundred thousand in almost no time at all. He'll blow up for sure.
