Excellent video Ben, the importance of good quality bait is a no brainier anywhere. 👏👏🎣
Thanks Simon. Totally agree, it’s the number one factor in catching fish or not I’d say! 👍
What a nice session Ben a real mixed bag of species which was nice to see. It was crummy weather though but you stuck it out well done. 😊
Thanks Adrian. I love the variety that we get this time of year. It made the rain more bearable!! 😂
Lovely stuff as usual Ben!!!! Nice to see you can still do the long walk!!!! Cheers Ian ❤️🎣👍
Thanks Ian, I’m definitely getting older!! 😂
Well done mate great fishing
ben certainly knows his stuff when it comes to the big beach, top angling fella as always 💪👊🎣
Thanks for your kind words mate, appreciate that. 😊
Ben thanks for the video some lovely fish you caught even in the rain and like you said you didn't cast far well done. 👍🐟
Many thanks John. Yes it’s not always a case of blasting it to France this time of year. Really nice to catch closer in sometimes. 😊👍
Another great video, Ben. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Brian 👍
Great video ben mate and some great information 👍 top man and some great stamp off fish
Thanks mate, really appreciate that. 😊
Top angling Ben good watch as always 👍🏻👌🏻
Thanks Ryan, glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Fantasic vidoe with great knowladge as usual
Thanks Merion, appreciate your comments. 👍
Well done Ben showing your magic on chesil once again
Thanks Lee! Sometimes it works out! 😊👍
What a great video.
100% agree with crab freezing.i do the same.
Refuse dead peelers thrown into a bag and frozen, stink and are mushy, the flesh quality is effected by decomposing lungs and shell dirt, plus seems to take longer to freeze.
Thanks for your comment. Yes to my mind the difference is incomparable! 😊👍
Absolute perfection in every way. You read the beach like a priest from the bible. So great to watch.
Thank you very much mate, glad you enjoyed it. 👍
Top fishing Ben! 🎣🎣
Thank you Richie! 👍
Top stuff as always. That mark is a long old walk 😎
Not if you got a boat
@@jasonlucas494 gotta be part of the club to boat it have you not?
@@acereflectionsfishing what club just go to the place if you no the place and row your boat over
Thank you Paul, appreciate your comment mate. 👍
Awesome video again Ben shame about the whether but plenty of fish 🎣👍
Thanks Ian! I’m getting used to these drenchings!! 😆
Im learning so much from these videos. I’m only a beginner and I’ve been to Chesil twice, no Cod so far.
Can you tell me where this wreckage is? Maybe I get lucky over there
Some nice cod thare mate
As always the best on you tube
Thanks for your kind words Chris! 👍😊
You deserve a like for putting up with the rain 😂
😂😂Thanks John! Yes I was mightily glad to get warm and dry that day!!
Great video Ben…first one I’ve watched of yours but the best video of Chesil I’ve seen. Had my first trip with the big rods for a few years a couple of weeks ago. Was going well until dark and the relentless straps appeared. When did they become a thing? When I fished Chesil a lot 10+ years ago you got some nice congers in autumn but never the plague if bootlaces around now. Anyway top fishing as always.
Thanks Mike! Good to hear you’ve got the rods out again. 👍
Yes those straps have been a plague for the last 5 or 6 years now, never seem to get any bigger!
The pro at it again well done great vid, i can never do any good on chesil im obviously doing it wrong or im cursed
Thanks James. I think we all have our struggles on this beach sometimes mate, myself included! Keep at it, I’m sure you’ll catch it in a good mood soon. 👍
Great vidoe Ben. Is this slightly east of Abbotsbury?
A great watch and education, thanks, Ben/VMO. Assuming you sell it, what line does Ben use for his flapper rig/snoods, please?
Thanks for watching Ian, I really appreciate it. 👍
On this occasion for the flappers, I used 60lb clear Amnesia rig bodies and 25lb clear Amnesia snoods. Fished a bit heavier in case a Trigger turned up. 👍
@@benstockley4278 Thanks Ben; much appreciated. Keep up the great work 👍🙂
Hi Ian, we've now included a full list of the tackle Ben is using within the video description.
Hi Ben, just found you....were based inshore from bridport. Would you advocate leaving the micro pout on for a cod bait? Ive only just moved here, its amethod weve used historically. Cheers, rich
Hi Rich. You could try livebaiting but probably more effective for an eel or a ray at present as most of the Codling are only around 2lbs. 👍
Heading up from Swansea to Chesil on the weekend for our first time, is there any way of finding where the wreck is located ?
Hi Josh. I can’t give the location of this one away really mate as it only holds 2 anglers and it would quickly become very crowded. If it’s a wreck you’re looking to fish you have the landing craft at the Portland end of the Ferrybridge carpark or the Adelaide to the right of the Chesil Centre. Both will hold a lot of different species and the chance of a trigger fish.
Can you please state line strength rather than diameter, diameter means squat all. Each manufacturer has different strengths for different diameters. Other than that great video Ben!
@@dr4gon166 It’s better to select a line based on its diameter rather than its breaking strain. Diameter can be accurately measured and has greater bearing on practical fishing than a breaking strain. Low diameter lines can be cast further but are more susceptible to damage. Thicker lines are more abrasion resistant but will not cast so far.
For example, if you always buy line that is 20lb breaking strain, one brand could be 0.36mm, another could be 0.43mm. One of those two lines will cast much further than the other.
Diameter is incredibly important and many anglers purchase line based on it.
If someone could PM me the what three words , for the location of this mark . I would be eternally grateful and take it to my grave as a closely guarded secret 😬🤞🏻🐟
It’s on Chesil Bank and it’s a bloody long walk from Abbotsbury or FerryBridge. Can’t say anymore.
LH is my bet looking at the ground
😂 I’ll get the secrets act paperwork drawn up and posted out to you! 😉
