Hey, if I know I want the entire spice and wolf collection would you recommend I buy it now outright from rightstuf during the sale, even though a lot of volumes are sold out? In canada I cannot find a better deal anywhere else. I am just worried my order will sit for months and months.
If you can read Japanese, you can buy directly from Japan for like 100 manga for $5. They are recycled paper. English manga are expensive due to translation costs.
I do just have to say that number 2 (rightstuf) is only good for people in the US. Unfortunately their international shipping is pretty much the same price as their books XD so jealous of all their sales! Wish we had something like that internationally.

Does anyone have a solution for light damage on the edge of pages? I only have 2 walls of 1 room as an option to store my manga on shelves, and light hits both of those, regardless of what I've tried :( Some of my manga has yellowed around the edges, even though it's only a year or 2 old, after moving into this space while I have other volumes that were on shelves elsewhere for over 10 years without yellowing at all

I just got into manga this year and have been going hard with my library. If I like a series enough to own it, I buy it once I have already read it and know I love it. That gives me the luxury of buying slowly little by little because I am not waiting for that purchase to read the next volume. Super nice!
I live in the middle of nowhere but my local library actually had (and still has) all the original dragonball (1-42) in norwegian. that's what introduced me to manga in 5th grade.
I started collecting just this month and wish I knew about sun light damaging manga. In hindsight that is such an obvious one but before I started collecting I bought some shelves and put them up not even thinking about that. about 20 volumes in so far and enjoying the hobby. So funny thing when I was in high school. I got the school's library to buy a lot of manga. I think by the time I graduated they had all for full metal, death note, and most of blue exorcist. I think there one or two more, but I can't remember.
@Random Minority At the start mine was about the same, but when I found out you ask for books. It was the beginning of the end and I asked for anything that I could.
One thing that helps me is going to B&N and flipping through books. I don't necessarily buy all books there, just some that aren't available online, and to somewhat support local businesses. But seeing books in person really helps me chisel down the books I choose to read. By doing that, I can eliminate a large percentage of the books I decided to pick up.
Yeah, I think getting a series that is finshed is great so you can multiply the number of books or volumes by the price on where you are getting it so you can get a rough price altogether so you can be prepared
Great video I feel the same when it comes to wishing I got more than just Shonen at the beginning. As I read other things I am getting a lot of enjoyment with everything I read
Our Second Hand Bookstores in my country usually don't sell mangas, if they sell it, it's usually unknown titles. Only one physical bookstore here in my country sell mangas but the titles sold there are not satisfying enough. So I tend to buy them online, which it comes overseas. Its just so hard to collect mangas in my country.
I recommend looking into library memberships where you can borrow manga from all over the state. I only pay around 20 bucks a year and libraries will mail books to the library in my area for me to borrow. I’ve been able to read SO MUCH manga from this. Do yourself a favor and ask your local librarians about this!
I used to have a comic shop here, and got a few starts of series from it before they moved. But now we have a retro game store that has used manga and there's also a coffee shop that gets used manga!!! Also, I started collecting random volumes and now have a lot of first volumes of series I just bought on impulse lol. I might try to sell them. Yeah, the public library here in Malaysia have less manga which is sad. I wish they could have bring more manga series in the building.
