They have been made.... In 2000 there was a suzuki gsf250 (bandit) for EU market, but those revved up to 17k (18k redline , where these ones have 20k). As one can guess they sold poorly , but if you want you can still get them at Hungary or some other places where they were popular. Also UK got those 250cc bikes so technically you could still scoop them up at UK and then change the lights. I myself have a suzuki gsf250 GJ74A , which has the 20k revving engine and it's registered in the EU ,but that's because there was a time where some countries that weren't a part of EU , could import these bikes and you could drive around with your car license. Basically if you want to find them with EU number plate's , look for them online on countries that became part of EU after 2005. You will get the old one , but with some modifications , it would come close to the new ones..

Kawasaki is really killing it this past few years. They debuted a lot of new bikes, and brought back older legends with updates without a sky high price. This biggest win is they actually listened to what the customers want.
Agreed. Bought a brand new Ninja 650 in 2019 and bought a brand new 2021 ZX10 in November of last year. They really are the best brand for the money IMO
Only shame is that the more epic lower cc bikes like this one or the supposingly to come zx4r are unlikely to be sold in europe :( I calculated som rough import prices for one of these, it would be around 10k€
Actually a very good "learner" sport bike. Very manageable power and light weight for easy maneuvering on traffic. I just think it's an overall nice package.
@@hariszack5125 2 cyl has more early torque on the powerband compare to 4 cyl, 4cyl is definitely easier to start on beginner, but the weight on the 4 cyl will makes beginner learn hard!

It's about time they realised that even a beginner sportbike should sound like a sportbike instead of a dirtbike and should rev like a sportbike too. Now if only they would release this in Australia and the thirty year old CBR250 and ZX25R could stop being the default option for a first bike

Damn, this little engine has so much character! I stand by my belief that "'slow car' fast" is more fun than "'fast car' fast" since you can rev the piss out of it. Nice to see Kawasaki bringing back a beloved configuration from the 90s.

In Indonesia lots of people bully the ZX-25R because they associate 4 cylinder engine sound as crazy fast superbikes, whereas the ZX-25R isn't one. Shame on them because this is such a great bike to ride on.
I love how you kept the revs super low and quiet going past that motorcycle cop. My Ninja is noisy as hell and I always do the same whenever I pass any law enforcement. Seems like most cars are quite courteous and polite to you. Lovely sounds, good riding and made me want to take my bike out for a quiet ride immediately. Safe and happy riding.
We have that bike here in Indonesia and it always running out of stock in the dealer. Good thing here the bike isn't limited like in other part of the world.

Not meant for slogging down low because of that 20k rpm read-out ..that's understandable for a race bike this capacity.unlike Harley Davidson or Suzuki bandit
exhaust system is very crucial here, you want the exhaust to give enough back pressure at low rpm but lowest resistance at high rpm. zx25r is very sensitive to bad exhaust design, stick to top brand that done their research like this yoshi as example

I’m still on the bandwagon of Kawi making a Ninja ZX4R for the US, it would be a 400cc inline 4. Make about 80-90 Horsepower, and rev to about 15000 rpm.
Everyone saying this bike is just the sound and not fast, They clearly jeleaous with this bike i mean this is the fastest 250cc, On my opinion they said it's not fast because that sound it self, gear 1 on 20km/h because the sound they think it's almost reach the limit so that's why they call it slow
The trouble with trying to sell these in the US, where we don't have license restrictions, is that they cost more than a Njnja 650 (I realize the zx25r has better components), and about the same as a Z900 but when it comes time to part with 9k dollars, several things start to occur in one's mind...
I love how the sound isn't all flat up it has those throughs and crests near the shifts it's addicting

Your weight is almost perfect for this bike. You can see it handles well in the mountain corners. Reminds me of an Aprilia RS250.

The bike alone is not enough. Get the Yoshimura Hepta Force with the bike
I know 4 cyl 250cc sounds epic. However, it lacks torque in low RPM. I can't use it comfortably on uphill section without staying on higher RPM.
Yeah its actually fun, you have to pick the appropriate gear to go up steep slopes.
