I received my Cut Kit last week and just this past Saturday, attempted to do my bag lids for the first time ever doing much of any kind of body work on anything! Cutting my bag lids was definitely something I did not really want to do but, I had confidence due to watching your video's Jay. Well, it took most of the day but got it done. Not happy of course with the hole but, it will work. I should have used the one handed saw you used in this video, instead of the traditional skill saw. When the traditional skill saw passes around the front, it wants to move inward. I had to do some trimming in order to get the two pieces to mate up and take all 4 screws. Today is Sunday and I am not working on the bike today as I am giving myself time to think before I do the other bag lid. On a good note, I did install the front fairing speaker's, SoundStream radio and all cabling. Ran my power and speaker down under tank and all that went well. Connected the power to the battery and tested the system, without the rear speakers. I must say, I could tell the difference as soon as noise came out of the speaker's! Absolute night and day between what was and was is now!
You are the only person I have ever seen using silicone caulking before on an install the bag kit. It's an inexpensive and genius idea.
I think I'm going to have to apply that to my install when I do it.
Just trying to do it the best way
@@volunteeraudio anything worth doing, is worth doing right.
I do have a question, if so may sir.
How do the new Kappa speakers perform with the Hertz amp? With it being a 3 ohm speaker, and the amp supports 2 or 4 ohm, I would be concerned about performance and longevity
@@HvyMetal4Ever they are meant to work on 4ohm amplifiers, infinity knows you will get a few more watts while not dropping impedance down enough to damage the amp
I've learned a lot from your videos. I appreciate you posting them. I plan to upgrade my 2018 Street Glide and I'll be ordering my kit from your company.
Thank you for watching!
Damm! I think I can almost hear that bike from my house in Spain! Haha. I was totally amazed, you walked so far and still can hear that beast Crystal clear! I need that!
Thank u so much buddy, your videos are always great, looks super easy, and explained for dummies as me and with really good quality devices
Thank you for the encouragement and kindness!
We ship to Spain if you need a system like this!
I think this was best one yet. I'd like to hear one of your 6 speaker set ups
Thank you for watching!
Jay, I was down from Michigan to purchase my bag lid speakers a couple weeks ago and I'm in the process of installing them now. I have the Soundstream HDHU 14 installed and was wonding if I need to connect my back speakers the way you discribed in this video, with reverse polarity, or connect them the proper way. I appreciate all you do for the motorcycle community.
Usually reverse polarity is correct but it’s always best to test with a polarity tester after
Polarity part was the most important part in the video!
Thank you
I agree!
@@djgalloway73 if you use our hertz sp4.900 we added a backbone connector to keep
Polarity correct
only thing I would do different, is use a soft cotton towel to get the silicone off. Paper towels are made from wood and can scratch paint. Hope this helps.
While it was wet we get the outer layer off with the paper towel, we use microfiber after it dries
Jay, I Love that You mentioned You love to talk about Jesus! We are starting a. Christian Motorcycle ministry. We are very excited about that.
On another note, I purchased the SoundStream HDMU.14+ W thumb controls and the Herts SX 165 Neos from y’all. I had them installed at a local audio dealer and my sound is cutting in and out. I took it back to the local installer and they said “install looks good” i messed with the EQ on the head unit as well as mine phone, but there’s also ALOT of treble and some distortion at higher volume. I need help with this issue please Sir.
Thank You,
Call me tomorrow, 865-388-8900
@@volunteeraudio yes Sir, will do.
Another job well done Jay, thanks! God Bless!!✌️😇👍
Thank you for watching Ken!
Amazing. Great work Jay. We’ll done and a huge credit to you and your audio talents.
Thank you for watching and for your encouragement!
Great videos Jay. I wish we could of heard what it sounded like before you put the AMP in it. 🙂
6x9’s are not going to be heard while riding without adding an amp, radio power is not enough
@@volunteeraudio that makes sense. How about some coupon codes for your site? 😊

Awesome videos, so glad I found your channel. Learned a ton and can’t wait to purchase a package for my CVO Street Glide
Man I just order my kit. Super excited!
Thank you so much!
That is awesome!! LOUD AND CLEAR!!
Thank you!
Awesome video! I just got the Precision Power cut kit and rear harness from you. Going to install my Herz 6X9 Neo tomorrow!
Thank you!
I do a better job of showing how to mount the speakers to the cut kit in this video ruclips.net/video/Pg2ozj9fTK0/видео.html
@@volunteeraudio Thank you, I think I’ve been watching all your videos several times.
@@ncautolink thank you!
Awesome. I have this set up. I’m not good with EQ. Would love to see the EQ setting you used. Sounds good.
This system was left set flat on the radio eq, these speakers sound great so no real need to adjust treble or bass up
@@volunteeraudio ok thanks. I want miss with it then.
@@beardedtrucker I plan to use an rta in a future video to show ideal eq settings
@@volunteeraudio cool! I’m interested. Great content
Thanks Jay great content

I have the Rockford kit..and bought the same hertz neo 6 x 9 speakers...I have to modify the speaker mount as it doesn't fit precisely...I need a right angle grinder to cut off the mounting nub and to notch the bracket so the speaker will slide in
There is a spacer sold that makes them fit the Rockford lid kit, they are $40
Love the video!! I also love the fact ya'll are in Tennessee too. I'll be ordering from you soon. Keep up the cool videos! 👏🎶
Thank you for watching!
That’s an awesome sound. I’m surprised your neighbors don’t complain, then again you probably don’t have Karen living next door.
We have good neighbors, thank you for watching!
Amen
Great job on the install!!!what is in the build can’t hear u that good with it cranking like that
You were saying what was in it.I want to do my Electra glide

Thanks for replying back to me I appreciate it what radio can be used for a single din on an 08 police bike
Got my spacers in super quick!! I had to drill the holes out cause they didn’t fit but everything is good now!! Can you use old saddlebag mount grommets for the speaker wire hole?
Here is what we use, it includes the grommets and quick disconnect wiring volunteeraudio.com/product/metra-bc-9723
Great video. Question can you hear them lretty descent at crusing speed. Say 55-60
Mph. Thanks
Sounds like you’ve got a bear in the cave brother!! 🤣 you had one hell of a nose whistle the whole video!! 🤣😂
Bad mic placement, it’s fixed for future videos!
What is the difference between the Hertz 6x9 vs the soundstream 6x9. Can you explain which is a better speaker and why?
Hertz 6x9 are the best sounding water proof neo 6x9 in my opinion, I also think if waterproof is not an issue the new ht series precision power 6x9’s are incredibly loud and sound great also, precision power is louder overall but not waterproof
Sounds amazing as always. My question is how do the PPI 6.5's and the PPI 6x9's sound compared to the Hertz? I've been looking to add 6x9's to my 07 SG and wanted as little bag space taken up as possible.
We just did a 6 speaker precision power install today, sounded amazing and video should be up within a week
@@volunteeraudio looking forward to it. Been wanting to do the tour pack and 6x9's on my 07. Pretty glad I waited .
man that sounds great.
Thank you!
Could you tell me roughly what this kit would cost with you guy's doing it? And how long is the waiting list?
Call our sales team at 1-844-30AUDIO
I don’t think I have any wires coming from the radio to the seat (backbone harness?). Do you sell the harness I need and install video for that?
Yes we do, ruclips.net/video/mez-Y7yMsY4/видео.htmlfeature=shared
You are using a regular jigsaw blade in the milwaukee sawzaw ? I couldnt find a jigsaw blade with the same shank as the sawzaw ?
It’s called a scroll blade

Hello Jay. I see alot of people using the Rockford or Boss lid kit with a 1/2 inch spacer to fit the hertz sx690 neo. Will the precision power lid kit require a 1/2 spacer or not?
I don’t use a spacer, I slightly grind down a few ribs to make more room and add an extra butyl rubber gasket between the speaker and cut kit for water tightness
Can OEM harley grills fit this kit ?
I would love to find this out prior.
No the boom grills will not fit
can you tell me if there is any modification needed to place the sx690neo in the rockford fosgate cut kits that are already in my lids
I’ve done it several times without modification
I have 2023 Road glide Limited. It comes with Tour pack speakers. I removed my tour pack and speakers. I want to install speakers in the lids. I have speaker harness under the seat already. Can i use that harness and add speakers to bags? Do i need amp ?
You cannot use the tourpack harness because on 22 and newer models that harness is not available yet to adapt to the tourpack plug. I always suggest an amplifier as part of any upgrade and our plug n play hertz options have an added connector so you can run a new backbone harness and lid disconnect harnesses. If you have questions on this process give us a call at 1-844-30AUDIO
Sounds good!👌
Thank you!
Is the butyl tape you speak of only tacky on one side?
Yes, self stick on one side

Awesome video's!! Can you show where to plug in a wireless car play adapter.. Also, Where can i get the USB long enough to run from the back of the soundstream to one of the rear bags?
The CarPlay wireless adapter from ZZ-2 plugs directly into the factory USB port, cables over 3ft in length do not consistently connect to Apple CarPlay or android auto
@@volunteeraudio cool. Was looking ore just to have it on a charger in the saddlebag and connect wirelessly to CarPlay.

I got kenwood 6x9 125 rms and kenwood 6.5s 75 rms two Diamond audio amps. Is hertz gonna be that much better
The efficiency of the kenwood are much lower, so yes the hertz will be louder and clearer and handle bass much better
@@volunteeraudio ok guess I’ll spend $500.00 for a set of 6x9s

I see where you went up 50 $ on the 9813s g

@@volunteeraudio Thanks for getting back with me. I am trying to save enough money to get that new radio.
What if you already have the cvo lids with stock speakers?
Then you need adapters to go to 6x9’s. You also need to get rid of the boom stage 2 amps and speakers
Got ya. What adapters do you recommend?
@@mmats69 currently we use the American hardbag adapters, they make 2 different ones depending on if you have power locks. Nagy is coming out with a set in the future.
