Not at all. While Bruce and whoever this main character is are invulnerable, that is where the similarities end.
In Unbreakable, Bruce couldn't inflict pain on others by trying to hurt himself. Bruce didn't inflict pain on Sammy L by trying to hurt himself. Bruce was also a good guy. Unbreakable was the origin story of a super hero. In this movie the main guy is out for revenge and he's hurting and/or killing people who bullied him. It looks like he drowned one of the bullies. He basically reflects damage done to him back to either the aggressor or, from the drill scene, to whoever he wants.
