You cant run mains powered lighting through this cable that is less than 0.5mm thickness rep strand, it will just melt like fuse wire.......😨

It's kinda weird to me that nearly every video discussing audio equipment to get the best possible sound always ends up having terrible audio themselves. How is this even possible?

Neutrik NC3MXX-B and NC3FXX-B with gold plated pins fitted to Van Damme Starquad XKE cable fitted is an excellent combination.
I have a pair of Neutrik NC3MXX-B and NC3FXX-B XLR connectors with Van Damme Starquad XKE cable. UPOFC wire. Starquad cabling.
The pair of these can be purchased for around £40.
I could not detect any difference compared to RCA cables that cost me £160.
The connection is between a DAC and active speakers.
The key is to buy from a Pro Audio supplier to the Pro Audio industry.
Avoid hyped up 'audiophile' brands coated with snake oil and fairy dust.

READ WHAT THIS GUY WRITES..... HE HIS TRYING TO HELP YOU AND VERY OBVIOUSLY IS IN THE TRADE.....
For me, well, looking at the "ssnakes i have NEVER seen such small wires connected to an xlr cable in my life..... EVER...... if you burnt off the rubber, the 3 wires alone would be thinner then the wires used in bulbs.. fractions of a milimeter..... and over 25 feet??....
Then when i saw the "drum" and on a length of 300ft, i couldnt believe that they were using the same thickness cable....... minute, i bet it isnt even ofc.......
Do any of you think that a quality studio would buy this very visualy proven junk?..... 🤔 NEVER....
As for the brand "blastking" i have never heard of this product in my whole life, not on other websites, not in the pro audio websites, its not even on the cheep chinease alibaba websites...... no where, so i wonder what the commision this guy gets selling sub par equipement at above behringer prices which is a fraction of the quality..... rubber rings or not 😅 he must think we are all stupid, but with a name of robbing, sorry robin, what would one expect...?
If you see this brand, run, just run as fast and as far as you can, because when you start having problems and people do electrical tests, than it will be your own fault.......
Additionally, i dont know too much, but what i do know (from the guy above) is that Van Damme cables are all oxygen free copper, and i actually own a pair of speaker cables from them, and im happy with the sound from them.......
Theres a place called AV ONLINE and they do sell quality products and cables, actually look at the xlr cables online and compare the difference, another place is audioseduction i think, even "whybuyless" they also sell fair to good quality cables...... im sure in america, you can buy far better quality for far less than what this confidence trickster will try to sell you.....
A good salesman will appear to be honest and genuine, as a good lier will mix truth with lies to appear to be honest....... its their job to sell, thats all they do, and if you keep giving them money for crap, they will keep selling it and keep taking your money without a thaught in the world......
Im sure the guy above me, myself, and all the addresses i have shared have never heard of the brand "blastking" before....... where they have got the money to make this crap is beyond me, but in other markets, there are those that will buy the very cheepist junk available just to save money (done it myself at great loss afterwards)...... it's just this guy is taking the ride a step further because non of us knows the brand, and he's selling this as some kind of new boutique brand, that is quality..... but if your in the know,or have experiance, just look at the thickness out of the xly of the wire in comparison to his finger, even the "beefed up" press down locking lug is fatter than the 4 wires in that wire..... (3 pins and earth or screen as you would call it).......
      Stay away......

  • @Unplugged704

Great video, lots of detailed information!! I need help with an issue I'm having...
I have a 2 powered speaker setup in a room (church service only - speaking) that's 50 deep x 80 wide, stage in center. The mixer is on stage left wall with one speaker wall mounted 8' above (maybe 2 ft towards front). The second speaker is on the other side and also wall mounted - 8ft up. The speaker near the mixer I'm using an 10 ft XLR and the far wall a 100 ft XLR - both 24 gauge and balanced.
Issue - the speaker near the mixer has high output (LOUD!) meaning output on the speaker not even at 9 o'clock position (maybe at 7/8 o'clock). However, the speaker on the far wall the output is much lower and I have to turn to 12 o'clock position just to match the output on the near wall. I understand the distance affects level.
Closer speaker - I thought 24 gauge would be fine. But it is really loud! I have to lower the master fader for this speaker.
Far speaker - perhaps I should use14-16 gauge?
How can I fix this for more equal/balance output.

    • @expertisland
      @expertisland  11 месяцев назад

For 100ft or less not worried about the Gauge. But I would like to test the 100 cables on the same speaker as the 10ft xlr to see if it maybe the cable or connectors have a problem. could even be the speaker's input pre-amp. switch the speakers or the cables to test.

informative video, but the editor got bored about 2/3 of the way through and tried to make me seasick... Also, might consider moving your phone off camera, it was kind of distracting, too. About 20 minutes in, I had to stop watching from all the weird flipping and just listen for a while. Very odd choice, there.

    • @expertisland
      @expertisland  Год назад +1

in a studio if you have the money yes, But no cables or connectors from China (sorry amazon) Cable from the USA/Germany/Canada/Taiwan same thing for the connector. Yes for Live if your Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran. For the rest of us it comes down to cost,. is it better yes, for me for most live shows where the band sets up there own gear and pays for the gear made in the USA or Canada standard Balanced XLR Cables is great.

You can get ballanced tip ring sleve connectors.....
If your complaining about size, then there is also something called "mini xlr" and you will find them in headphones.......
But i think this video is confusing you, you have seen the minute wires coming out of the xlr connectors, and they look huge in comparrison, and you have correctly identified that the thickness in usb connectors wire wise is the same thickness used here......
Please believe me when i say that in any professional cables sold the wire thickness is far greater than what is being shown here and is normaly around 1.5 to 2mm thick csa each wire....... then with correct insulation, and screening, this becomes far thicker than a usb mini cable.....
Whats being sold here is the thinnest cable i have seen in my life, and even cheepo crap places like electromarket sell far better quality than this......
This is worth nothing, and when i saw that huge 300ft drum, i thaught they would have upped the quality because of the length..... nope, still the thinnest cable ever.....
So i can understand your comment, but these cables are beyond highly unusual, but robbing, sorry robin dosent know any different because thats all he sells..... "blastking"..... i wouldnt even run a (1) led off cable this thickness.....

The only place in the world where crap like this can be sold for boutique prices..... its not even ofc or silvwr plated, but this guy is selling it at those prices, and whats worse, people are buying it....... have you sseen the size of the cable coming out of that ssnake, them wires must be less than 0.5mm each, then with the insulation they look to be less than half a centimeter about 1/4 of an inch or less.....
