Thank you! I grew up from the time I was two (in 1951), in Valdez, Alaska. My brother still lives in Valdez. I didn't move away until 1978, and I still miss the state AND this song. I sang it for all sorts of events, over the years, while my mom played her violin in accompaniment. Until about a year ago, I could still find the video where Neva Egan sang the song when Bill was sworn in as the first State Governor. Then suddenly, that video disappeared. Bill and Neva, and their son Dennis lived in Valdez, until Bill's territorial governorship began. Dennis was two years ahead of me in school. My mom was a concert violinist, and she and four or five others (from the time we moved there) supplied music for just about every event in town, all year round. For nearly every event, Mom would play her violin, and Neva would sing "Alaska's Flag." In later years, before the quake, I played either accordion, or my trumpet with whichever others were playing, and I sang the anthem at events, later, after Bill, Neva, and Dennis moved to Juneau. I just backed this up and listened to it again, and again I thank you for posting it. I don't know how I missed it, a year ago, when you posted it! I miss Alaska, and its anthem, very, very much.
