When we took this Raptor up north the Tailgate Assist worked fine in cold, snowy conditions with the temp hanging around 20-30 degrees Fahrenheit, but the colder temps do cause it to lower more slowly so I found myself pushing on the tailgate a bit to help it open
Just broke off the tailgate strap bolt. Make sure to use some break away spray and letting it penetrate before attempting to remove. Now for the hard part removing a broken bolt.
Bought it for my 14 and broke within 2 months of purchase. Couldnt handle being opened so many times. Recommended to get them on both sides if you often use your tailgate
I bought this kit, however it can't be installed. @00:52 in the video it shows the side of the tailgate and a circular hole where the bolt will be inserted. My 2014 F-150 Lariat EcoB3.5 has an oval hole--which I haven't seen this on any other truck. Is this a common problem? Is there another part or kit i need? Thanks.
Mine has the same oval shape and it fits. You just have to keep screwing it in. honestly I did the Nine revolution like it said and it wasn’t snug enough so I kept on going until it was snug.
Is it possible to get the nutinstert part?? The damn nut stripped before it tightened on the insert. Piece of junk it took nothing to strip the threads on the nut poor quality poor poor poor!
How about winter conditions? Most everything I have looked into, aftermarket, is built for life in California

I just bought this product and installed on my 2004 F-150. Thank you for your video, it is a very simple install to do!!

Ah, much better video than others I’ve just watched. Nicely done.
Thanks Dale!

The wrench that comes with this is useless

videobrawl that’s how my 06 f150 is. It’s an oval instead of a circle. I’m currently trying to find something to fit it

@@alexpingo1999 I haven’t yet but probably should have looked at my 06 before buying this! Is yours a lariat as well?
My 2014 has the same problem
I have the oval in my 06! The one they sent worked
Do you know if this will work on an 05 sport trac
This will not work for my 2008 tailgate. Mine has a large rectangular hole in the tailgate near the hinge.
does it make it easier to lift / close the tailgate ?
that part is about the same
Does this fit on a 2004 f150 flareside with the step bed ?
I had one of these on my 07, lasted a whole 4 months before the tailgate side ball stud broke clean off. Junk.
Took 5 minutes to install.
