- This is my john deere 1051 pto harvester. Built in the early 80s this machine was revolutionary. A PTO machine with a detachable front.....which it can tow itself! Designined and half built in Australia only 350 harvesters were ever built! And I have one, rarest of them all the 1985 edition in 150 yrs john Deere colours. This is the only john Deere harvester ever built in Australia.
We congratulate you, you are introducing us to the village and country life in a pure and clear way, with a nice level of sincerity.thank you
As a kid I remember seeing pictures of the 1025 and thinking how revolutionary the tow behind header was. Thanks for the video and saving a great piece of history!!!!
Belle vidéo je n’ai jamais vu se système
Wow this type of machine was getting old 45 years ago but here we are with a wonderful new take . Be great for a less than huge property that needs harvested and the cost must be vastly different to self powered models.
I remember seeing headers like this drawn in kids books when I was a little kid 45 years ago. I always thought "have they never seen a combine"? Now I know where they got there ideas from.
I'm a Canadian from Saskatchewan and so I know my pull-type combines quite well. Had a 7721 JD and currently have a 1682 Case as a spare/back-up alongside my Case 2388. Never have I ever seen a straight-cut header on a pull-type combine only pickup headers. Even my 2388 I only have a pickup header for. And never have I seen a straight-cut header without a reel. Cool to see how things were/are done down in the Land Of Oz!
Looks like a very useful second machine to back up a self - propelled combine, instead of relying upon one large machine.
thanks for a very interesting video and insight into such a limited production tool!
I really like seeing all those exposed belts and wheels work
Might have John Deere stickers on it but looks like a Horwood Bagshaw, made in Australia since 1838,there colors, I owned one for many years in NZ
I don’t know why these type of machines can’t make a modern comeback. Tractors now with 400 + HP at the PTO combined with CVT transmissions and modern electronic interfaces are ideal. Combine would be far cheaper with no engine, transmission or air conditioned cab, and just go around the first tramline to open up the field. Tractors stand waiting for the fields to get cleared anyway.
Well, it is much harder to open up a field with a pull type machine. And, now the use of big grain carts makes it necessary to have a big tractor to pull them. Also, if you have a multi crop farm, you are going to want to switch from a grain head to a corn head, i can not see a big corn head on a pull type machine. They make some sense in very large small grain only places like Canada, but, not in the corn/soybean areas of North America. I had a pull type Case 600 and, i pulled it with a 4020 John Deere, that was fine for a smaller farm, but, would not work on todays large acreages.
So instead of a 250,000$ combine, youd buy a 500,000 tractor to pull a 50-60,000$ trailed combine?
I really hope you have a good accountant.
Nice. In the 80s my grandpa had a John Deere 6601pto combine and he put it with a John Deere 4440
Ok that makes sense to me.i used to work on the farm in North Dakota
I would love one of these! Ideal combo would be that front, being able to be swung around & towed behind, on a Case 1682 axial flow, best of both worlds! But I think he JD1051 does quite a reasonable job of separation anyway, looking at Nebraska test reports.
Very interesting, it's in good condition. Well done
Bonsoir superbe vidéo jamais vu ça
Looks as if the crash we heard took some teeth off the cutter. The last bit shows a line of uncut corn. Get that mended it's a beautiful machine.
Quite a mouthful for it. But it handles it quite well.
I would have liked to see the process of swinging the header around to the front. Interesting header, for sure!
Very nice! That's a way too rare sight on RUclips...
Need that in fs19 :P
true that, i've been playing FS 19 since the very first day but i must say i got a bit disappointed
i want one so bad!!
Nice! it would look even better if it totally got a new paint job all in all is a cool machine nice!
With a good cut and polish the paint work would actually come up super nice! Thanks!
Nice, sore you at quambatook at the start of the year nice machine
There's one down at the tractor museum in Whiteman Park.
There were a few JD 7721 pt combines with 224 straight cut headers in SK.
You’re alive!!! Nice video!
Who else agrees that there should be a pull combine mod in FS19? If they added one I’d hope it’s a 7721 John Deere!
I am from Algeria and I love working in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry, and I want to work with you in this field. Thank you very much.
Hello Taieb. Wat would be the salary your be working for?
@@cowwhisperer8927 As you wish, it is important to help me come to work with you
Looks newer dident know you could still get tractor pulled big combines bet its lot cheeper and only needs 1 gps one oil change and battery 2 extra tires wouldent want to pull it in hill contry but if price is way cheeper can be great for smaller guys to stay farming not needing 300,000$ combine
Did JD buy out Horwood Bagshaw to get into making these machines? They must cause a loss on the headland opening up.
No JD didn't buy out HB. Yeah you knocked a bit down with the wheels of the tractor.
Gut.zer gut.
Nice vid 1051 you don’t see many tow along headers anymore. What pto speed, number of walkers or workings sperate, capacity of bin and header front size. You should do a rundown on Gleaner N7 I see in background.👍
Runs at 1000 PTO speed with a 21 spline. 4 large walkers, box holds 8ton of wheat, front is 25ft but also came it 18 and 22 or rare 20ft open front. Haha if I can get here fired up next year I will cheers
Should he include the 30% not-cutting parts?
Very interesting Front! Is there an actual sickle bar that cuts or is it just stripping!?
Australian comb front. And yep has a we little knife that's at the back of the comb. About half the size of conventional knives
I'd prefer that to a combine

MASSAGE
IS THAT JOHN DEERE 150 ANNIVERSARY COLORS???!!!!
That sure is 150 anniversary colour
Nices🇲🇽
needs a Redekop straw chopper lol
also, is that hydraulic fan drive?
She'd spread some straw then!
It has alot of hydraulic controls but sadly the fan is controlled from a variable belt setup
@@Hugh_magoo ah gotcha. all on board hydraulics I assume?
Yep has onboard. Tractor only controls the front lift and swing around
Does it have a seconds screen like the MF and the IH pro machines
Not this one, but it was an option I've seen
I saw misses behind your headermhow fast you going?1 or 2 mph?
Yeah about that speed, they aren't made for the high yielding crops we grow now. This was a 4.5ton/ha crop. And it was set up and made for upto 3ton maybe
👍👍👍🤝
Did you guys get a new drive gear casted for the old sunshine harvester?
Still on the hunt for one sadly
What was the point of having a tow along? So you didn't have to invest and maintain another engine and drive system?
If you already own a suitable tractor then you can save almost 50% on the harvester. And use the tractor for other jobs as well .
@@robertemory441 Ok.. Makes sense.
@@TheRobertralph you answered your own question. In the question

Наклонка в конце, значит масса будет идти не равномерно.
Тупиковое направление, время прицепных комбайнов ушло.
в середине очень много остается на видео видать
Во сне такое не снилось
So I was thinking of putting a motor on and a cab and cutting off the hitch...?
That would be a wildly cool rig if you did hahah
How much does it cost? Pls answer me with +Peter Eder
How much does what cost??
Harvester I guess
What’s the pto horsepower needed to turn that harvester?
160hp book says
Missing at the end of video.. Cutter bar?
Does have a knife, at the back of the long fingers
@@Hugh_magoo yep. I see it was missing some crop at end of video, a couple of knives not playing ball,, nice machine tho,,
Needs a reel on it, it won't pick up Lodged grain
No Australian Front ever had a "reel" you put crop lifters on and they work just fine.
@@Hugh_magoo do they just not care about the little bit that gets left behind I know at least in the states anyways will we get fields that are completely flat for all the grain is laying down then you're going real slow over the whole deal with a combine raking up the wheat with the reel
It's currently 11:30 where I'm at not thinking the best right now
The other aspect here is these fronts were never designed to handle heavy yeilding crops so if it's lodged because of yeild you'll be going awfully slow and taking alot of straw which these fronts aren't good at. And it's always hot and mostly dry in our harvest.
Haha that's alright, 4:30pm here still working
@@Drew-in-NoDak The reel doesnt rake lodged wheat. The crop lifters lift it you idiot
Не пойму какого типа жатка, похожа на обчёсывающую.
Looks like it'd do well in soy n lentils.
Can get very low and the comb front would catch it all, so I would say so!
@@Hugh_magoo yeah and being ahead lookin back into the header you'd catch any stones or mole hills
HI
Very strange cutting without a reel
Aussie invention they work great in light crops
@@lockypayne6881 pioneered by Sunshine which later became MF Australia
The title said "potato" harvester that is a wheat harvester
The title reads "PTO" harvester not potato harvester. But no worries, I made the same mistake at first glance too
it says pto not potato you complete idiot
Tarlada bıraktı bütün ürünü
Pra que ISO kkkk
А как става обигравката че несхванах
Такого бесполезного ройла я ещё не видел!!!
Thats US shit....👎
How much horsepower do you need to run that machine cheers.
