In addition to combining the 5 in a hoop, i using the tip of glueing down the batting border strips to spot glueing the strip directly on the stabalizer (along with tapeing down at top and bottom) that way I did not have to removed basting strips. It worked perfectly. Thanks so much!!
Hi Cristin. I've finished the 5 inner borders. I did 5 at a time in my hoop. I just need to do the long ones after I sew the rows together. I used embrilliance to make the file to do the 5 at a time. I also aligned and distribute the designs. That was pretty cool. I also learned how to send the files to my machine. I never noticed the option in Embrilliance until I watched your grass video. Thank you. thank you for all the tips and tricks. Deb Peterson
aww that makes me happy Deb! Thank you for taking the time to let me know you learned some new things that help with productivity in our projects! Definitely more fun learning the software together!
Hi Cathy, full details of the shirt/sweater I'm wearing in each video are always added in the video description under the video along with direct links to purchase the design if you choose. I hope this helps.
I used my 14” hoop and sewed two hoops then took the cutting tool in the software and sectioned off 3 1/2” for the rest and used smaller hoop to sew out the remaining 3 1/2 “.
Cristin, I was hoping you would show this part! I’m in ND and we got 36” of snow this week! 5-8” more tomorrow. This project and your videos are getting me through! ♥️
No worries Natalie, we will go over EVER step together :) That is A LOT of snow in ND for the middle of April! CRAZY! They are calling it our second winter here in Idaho. I'm not a fan ;) ha ha Thanks for your kind comments!
Hi Cristin…I measured my sashing it was 31.5 but after I did the quilting they ended up shorter than that so I actually had to trim the quilt afterwards because I mostly had about 30 inches of sashing so didn’t quite make it to the edges of my rows. It seemed like the quilting shrunk the strips. Did I miss something here? I came very close to some of the edges when I had to trim and actually needed to trim off part of the branch block and part of the curl on the row below that where the bee will go. It’s going to be OK but just wanted to know what I did wrong so I can watch that for my next project. Also noticed that you are using the Luminaire and I have the Solaris which is almost the same. Can you tell me what thread color palette you use on the machine that is closest to the Glide thread as I am also a Glide thread user. Love your videos.Thank you for being such a detailed and methodical instructor!
Hi Claire, did you stabilize your sashing fabric? I always highly recommend using fusible backing on your sashings and borders along with the batting because that will greatly reduce the stitching pulling in and
Darn I hit return by mistake on my phone. Anyway stabilize to reduce likelihood of your sashings pulling in. You could also do your quilting on the full strip and then trim, but then you'd have a bit of batting in your seams (which isn't that big of a problem if you choose that option). I hope this helps Claire.
@@CristinCreates Yes I did stabilize the fabric first with Shape Flex. I did decide, while doing my borders, to not trim the borders until after the quilting. Much better results!! I thought the starching and stabilizing would be enough but for me, it wasn’t. But I’ve learned and now loving my results. Thanks for the speedy reply and the great classes!!
Hi Natalie, I know the people that have those 2 programs love them, but I can't personally speak to them since I've never tried them. The only one I've purchased at this point is Embrilliance Essentials and I'm completely loving learning that one.
I have been interested in software but it's all confusing. I have two Berninas, a 700 and a 770. Most of my friends have Bernina software. It's over $2000 I think. Most don't know how it works. I hear good things about embrillannce but still don't understand all the different components of the software. I don't want to invest and then not be able to learn it etc. Been on the fence. Where can I go to learn the software? Are there free classes that come with it ec?
Hi Janet, I just started on the Embrilliance Essentials software a month ago or so and we're learning it together in the Cristin Creates group. You can see all my tutorials so far in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLtb76lWWGivO4DI9pDhtorOhfCrOmnYrc I thought it would be intimidating, but it's actually been really easy and fun to learn. A lot of people have software and don't know how to use it. That's why we are doing it together. #morefuntogether I don't think any free classes come with the software, but there is a lot of information on the Embrilliance website and I'm sure they also have tutorial videos on RUclips like I do. As far as the different components, the only thing I've purchased so far is Embrilliance Essentials and that's what I'm teachin on with so many of my videos. You can certainly purchase more components if you choose, but Embrilliance Essentials is all the basics. The other components are for different purposes. For instance, if you want to do digitizing, then you would buy Embrilliance Stitch Artist and there are 3 levels of that I think. I haven't bought any of those. Just Embrilliance Essentials for me at this point :) I hope this helps.
I was able to combine all 5 - This is exciting! Thanks Cristin :)
Yay Kay! That makes me happy! Proud of you!
Thank you for your tips!
Thank you Sew Fun!
❤
Thank you Lin. I thought of you several times today :)
I am combining 5 in one hooping. Whoop Whoop
Look at you go! Awesome job Ginger!!!

Love this!
Yes! Be sure and watch this video to the end. I caught it too late on how to fix the orientation
of the 10” vs the 12” strips/now I know!🌸
I bet your quilt is still awesome Heidi!

Thank you Mendy!
Hi Cristin, I love your sweater - can you please tell me where you purchased the embroidery design.

Do you recommend stitch artist or enthusiast for a newbie?

I think Enthusiast has more editing capabilities than Essentials and Stitch Artist is for doing digitizing I believe.
