As a historian, speaking with retired people and the elderly fascinates me. For the time they have left, I can ask them about times that I can only read about. I sometimes wish I was my dad's age. His grandparents went from horse and buggie to watching the moon landings. I can't imagine how their perceptions would have changed.
If there had been all these fantasy races in our culture, there'd be a crap ton more gangs and various hate groups, but also a much broader view of art, science, cuisine, etc.
@@gamervox1707 they were part of the same ecological niche and couldn't compete, so when they assimilated they kind of died out, but since their genes are still present in many of us it is fair to say that they are alive because we are here and not dead because we are here
Great story; Excellent narration! Very interesting story, but I would have expected more impact on "world history" from elves, orcs, dwarves, gnomes, etc.
excellent story. I wonder what our would would be like if we did have elves, orcs, goblins, ... in it. Here is a like and comment for the story, for entertaining me, to help your channel grow, and get you the recognition you deserve.
Greetings, Mentlegent! For the Rhyhtm that is Algo Okay, that was not how I expected that story to go! But I'm glad the Elves weren't The Enemy, as so often seems to happen in HFY stories that include them.
Yes, the world changes greatly in short periods of time anymore. Perhaps too fast, who can say? I was born in 1955, I'm 68 years old. To say I've seen a few of those changes would be an understatement.
Makes it daunting to imagine being an elf born before the USA even became colonies and living thru the mid to late 1900s-2000 something and seeing all that change
Ah yes, change. The city I live in had about 8,000 population when my family moved here. In the last 65+ years three pulp mills and a university have been built. We now sit at about 80,000 population. Forested areas I used to run and play in are now subdivisions. A section of highway runnng through the city used to be called "the Bypass" because it quite literally 'bypassed' the city. Not anymore. I live on a four lane main thoroughfare that was a two lane dirt road when the house was built.
I can attest to Phoenix sprawling out over the years. My family had an acre plot in a in a small town surrounded by farm fields when we moved in the early 90s. Went back in 2020 and that small town was now a city. There were still chickens wandering loose in the streets, though.
I could definitely see en elf as a history teacher, an orc as a rapper or military officer, a dwarf as a political official or business mogul and a human as all of the above 😊
Good story with a fantastic idea worth exploring. Only criticism is that it was so short, it couldn't explore the very interesting concept in much detail at all. Loved it...
Imteresting idea. I wonder if the workd would be better off if there were indeed some people with massive lifespans to remind everyone of the past because they lived it?

If our world had lived with and taken in elves, orcs, dwarves and such, into our culture and country. Excellent story.
Neanderthal and florensians and denosians might disagree mate. If they weren't existent.
they are not dead because we are here.@@julesmasseffectmusic

The history of the elves was not all peaceful. Those cavalry uniforms and weapons were war trophies.

This one was sombre story. Thanks for finding and narrating it.
For the Algorith! For the Author! For the Narrator! For the Beard!

It makes me wish that Frieren anime goes on until the modern era, or maybe even beyond. Frieren in space would be neat lmao
This made me sad because im already feeling it.
Another great read Agro.
For the Author!!
For the Narrator!!
For the Voice!!!!
If one truly paid attention to nature, they know that permanence was never something found on earth.

The B-29 never saw combat in Europe, but I guess this is fantasy.

He sold a Henry repeating rifle for $4? Even in 1919 that was a steal. It’s a rather common story fro near immortals.
That was beautiful
very interesting setting and story
thanks for the narration
I really enjoyed this story, I would love to use a world like that as a basis for a RPG.
Rather melancholic, I was expecting a story about cute aliens given the thumbnail.
Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it
And those who do
Are doomed to watch

For the Algorithm the story and the voice
For the Algorithm, for the Author(s), for the Holographic Voice!
I have to say, the fact that he wasn't uber wealthy by the end shows a distinct lack of initiative.
We don't know that. Nor do we know if that was one of his goals.
Very cool 😎
For accuracy sake..the B29 was never used in Europe.
And our timeline didn't integrate elves.
For the all-gorilla
