I use a 2018 transit connect van version to run my plumbing business. I have worked out of full size utility trucks and full size vans for years until now. This vehicle does EVERYTHING I need it to do and gets killer mpg. 24 city and 30+ hwy. My wife was right!
Not sure if he's a grandpa, but I see a surfer at Bolsa most mornings with a transit connect wagon. He fits his longboard in easily, which makes this a curious and economic choice over a large SUV. The rumored diesel engine makes it more interesting.
"kinda" low to the floor? No, those seats are sitting on the floor lol, if you have to bring your knees up to your chest I think something is wrong with the design
What about hustling dads with a side businesses? 🤣 This is a perfect two in one vehicle to haul the kids from practice and to transport business items. We are looping to get this vehicle once our lease is up on our Infiniti.
the legroom is fine but it’s just that the seats are too low. If ford can raise the seats then it would’ve been better since you saw he had a lot of headroom
Low to the floor. Your the guys knees were on baseline with your upper chest. Unless your driving or passenger I've been in the back of one of these and it's not comfortable. Ram has a similar model (Pro Master City) that accommodates the legs.
I know that's right, Id chunk the passenger seat too. Chunk all the seats except driver and build a level wood floor. That makes it easy to get up and go to the back. Then add a small bed, Engel 12 volt cooler, and a Thetford cassette toilet and go camping. Pull a tiny cargo trailer with a honda generator, and a scooter inside, along with whatever camping gear you prefer.
@@tronaboron2064 Yes, just build the bed so that your feet are up near the dash. That way you can just slide right off the bed to the driver seat. You can also reach the ignition from the bed if you needed to run the car and heat for like 15 minutes during cold weather. Buy removing the passenger seat you add about 5 feet if you count the space where your feet would normally be in the floorboard. This gives you a lot more room in the back.
i got a 2018 brand new transit connect looks like a salvage car . missing retainer clips on fenders. bumpers have placed in so poorly that the age of it on the left side is sticking out partially. you guys are so lucky that don't have as many competitors here in US. trust me if toyota had a cargo van like transit connect which they do but not in US i wouldn't have bought this garbage. by the way just to put icing on top goddamn Air conditioning system decides to not work Every once in the while, i have to turn the car completly off then turn it back on in order for it to work. i don't think if 2019 is any better.
Bank of America will NOT give you an auto loan for this vehicle. Then kept asking if I had a business because it shares the name 'transit' and they recognize it for its big brother. They denied the loan and said they would help me finance any other 'acceptable personal vehicle'. Food for thought people.
What? Cause they consider it a "commercial vehicle" or what? BofA financed my current '15 Highlander and I was going to consider them for this Ford Connect or the similar Dodge Ram PRoMaster City van. But 4 Dodge dealers i spoke on phone today don't even know about the 2nd row, bench seat in that small van. Telling me it's a 3rd party aftermarket add on, they guess. They sure are pushing that big n heavy Pacifica on me real hard. Hey I'm an aging boomer, I'll buy what I friggin want, ya young-azz, whipper-snapper, lol.
This kid looks disgusted by the hard touch plastics. Not everything needs to be a $65,000+ vehicle and costs must be managed somewhere. Why do auto journalists require everything to handle and go like a Ferrari, and have interiors like Bentley’s? It’s so irrelevant because that’s not what many vehicles are supposed to be. It’s a small, affordable minivan. It should be measured for what it is.
Dude how tall are you 7'4?? Or is that thing a miniature model of the real thing? Why cant any manufacturer make a refular size van that folds all the seats in the back down to a flat position. Easy! You get a van and a campered pickup truck all in one. That i would buy. Im 6'3 tall. I can't lay down to sleep in the back of this shit!
They have headroom why didn’t they raise the seats a bit?

Bolsa sucks. Trestles rules.
"So all you surfing grandpas with a side business" -- Oh man, that had me laughing something fierce.

The seats have a dual use, ie, they fold down. Thus, compromises.

Those cramped seats in the back and middle row changed my mind about getting one. We can see how stuffed in the back you were. :-(

The dealership never drops the price on these . They know people will pay for it.

Probably get the base model and ditch the four rear seats!✌🏼

@@billwilliams9897 great idea! That would be a nice set up!

Loved it all the way until he got in the no moving middle and back seats
not a word about the diesel version ?
I wonder why ford isn't using their 10 speed automatic in this vehicle
coolmoedude 10 speed automatic is for rear wheel drive vehicles only like Mustang, F-150, Expedition, Navigator.
gedaman oh I see
Love it!
I could use one of this

@@GaiaMiranda so did BofA tell u why they wouldn't finance? Sorry if I missed that in ur reply.. I'm an aging-boomer, haha.
Sounds like a dumb bureaucratic mixup. "NO, not a Transit Connect, a Transit Connect WAGON . . . "
That's just incompetence on the bank's part.
"Aging baby boomers"??? Really??? I was kind of interested until I heard that description...Huge turn down.
Yeah unbelievable that we age

Great people hauler with terrible seats... what the hell is wrong with Ford...
I would buy a kia Sedona before this transit ford tried to make a mini van out of a Ford focus and failed in my opinion
Not sure I like it..
Yeah, because you're not a surfing grandpa with a side business ;-)

I have a 2014 5 pass XLT. No more 5 pass, so no more buy Ford. They even ruined Escape with no more SE with 2.0 Ecoboost.
You cant beat the legendary hi-ace...id rather have an ak47...than a stupid ar15...ask the marines
this reviewer has an issue with his grandpa and baby boomer
I hate it
