2020 UDCA Awards Ceremony

The Brigham City Museum of Art & History is delighted to honor the winners for its 2020 Utah Design Crafts Artist Competition. Amy Schmidt's A Ring for a New Now took first place, followed by Janimarie Lester DeRose's California Ashes Urn in second place, and Diane Whittaker's The Hunt taking third place. Merit awards were given to Rosanna Lynne Welter's Landing, Virginia Catherall’s Sandstone Cliff, and Ivana Oblonsky Thomas' Fractured Landscape. Nadra Haffar, former UDCA member, artist, and museum educator, served as jurist.
The top three artists and our jurist come together with Alana Blumenthal, Museum Director, to discuss their works, inspirations, and how the novel coronavirus pandemic impacts their lives and livelihoods.
