    As someone with three cats and a dog I feel you with the fur situation. Our J7+ seems to exist only to remove it. Nice video and presentation.

      We also have a Dyson that has a green light attachment, and it really highlights all the hair. It’s shocking how much there is.

      I have looked at those and it’s something we may go with as lugging the Roomba up and down the stairs isn’t fun.
      Is this device good for larger areas despite its smaller size? Right now the Roomba needs about a 1.5 hour charge mid-way to clean a 1200+sqft floor.

      @@Codyak13 SwitchBot’s website claims you can cover up to 225 Sq m/2400 Sq ft on one charge, although whether that’s on the lowest setting is not made clear. I suspect it would be, so in theory you should be able to cover 1200 sq ft on the second highest level at a pinch.

    5:21 Is only working with their own hub? Because I’m planning to get the Aqara M3 hub 🤔

    • @homekitnews
      @homekitnews  5 месяцев назад

      @@iGarni it uses WiFi, so it doesn’t require a hub, but it makes a software connection to their hubs for the purposes of Matter integration only. It won’t work with the M3, but in theory you could add the SwitchBot hub to the M3 and control its connected devices from Aqara.

      @@homekitnews it’s kind of annoying to add a hub to hub 😅. What is the benefit if I add it to SwitchBot hub? And what is the additional benefit if I add the SwitchBot hub to Aqara hub?

    • @homekitnews
      @homekitnews  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@iGarni yes, I agree it’s a bit convoluted. The only reason to add the vacuum to the Switchbot hub is so it can then be exposed to platforms that use Matter, but you can still connect it to Google and Amazon without using Matter if you prefer, just not Apple Home.
      As regards any benefits of adding a hub to the M3 and Aqara, it depends. Aqara’s own app has really good automation options, which are in many cases better than any other platform (IMO). So any Matter enabled hub - even the Hue Bridge for example - can benefit from being added to the M3 and Aqara’s ecosystem.

      @@homekitnews Yes, I’m using Apple Home. Although, I was shifting lately between Google Home & SmartThings apps as a controlling tool. So, a good thing that it’s ready everywhere 😉

      The packaging is 34x31x42cm, and according to the label on the box, it’s just over 7kg. Hope that helps.
